Boffins laser print flexible transistors
If you can't stand the heat, turn down the temperature
Printing transistors is nothing new – silicon fabrication is, after all, essentially a print process – but printing silicon ink onto flexible substrates is usually a problem because there's too much heat for the medium to handle.…
Folding Mopeds: Early 80’s Honda Motocompos
These two Honda Motocompos are said to be in original, unrestored condition and are offered as a pair. Sold as a “trunk bike”, they were designed to be folded away and stowed in the back of Small Honda cars like the Today and City. Fully road legal in Japan with a complete array of lights, turn signals, horn and speedometer, we’ll take the red one and drag it around in the trunk of this. Find them here on Craigslist in Thousand Oaks, California for $7k. Special thanks to BaT reader David R. for this submission.

500K Miles: One Owner 1980 Fiat Brava
This 1980 Fiat Brava (VIN 131A00635687) may not look like much, but with over five hundred thousand miles on the odometer, it’s likely one of the most traveled examples remaining anywhere. Offered by the original owner who used it as a commuter until recently, the factory automatic was swapped for a 5-speed decades ago. The ad notes that some needed internal engine work has sidelined his plans to reach 600k. The subject of a feature on Autoblog about 5 years ago, we think it’s a pretty interesting find. Find it here on eBay in La Canada, California with no reserve and sub-$1k bidding.

1976 NSU Ro80
This 1976 NSU Ro80 was recently purchased by the selling dealer in Spain and is still en route. Said to be in exceptional, very original and fully functional condition, photos do show a straight, complete and clean looking example. In describing the car’s designer the seller confuses Claus Luthe for Bertoni, but does get NSU’s motorcycle heritage right. This one even retains its original, German-built rotary—many have been replaced by Mazda units. Find it here on Craigslist in Portland, Orgeon for $14,800 OBO. Special thanks to BaT reader TWSX for this submission!

BMW’s Electric i3 May Be the Perfect Cyclist’s Car
Joe ElliottI still kind of want one of these, but I cannot get over how silly it looks.

Driving the i3 feels not unlike biking. I was commuting without fossil fuels and breathing easier. I didn’t stop at gas stations. No fuel smell or piston motor sound.
