RHEINGOLD - ELECTRIC CITY (DÜSSELDORFER SCHULE) 2007

by Atom Cobalto

Get ready for the Hunger Games stage show

Good news, tweens! The Hunger Games movie franchise might be nearing its end, but that won’t be the end for Katniss and co.

A musical adaptation of the film is due to land in a new theatre near Wembley Stadium in 2016 thanks to a collaboration between Lionsgate, Imagine Nation and Triangular. Produced by Broadway’s Robin de Levita, it will follow the release of ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1′ later this month and ‘Part 2′ in 2015.

Robin says: ‘I’m thrilled to be partnering with an innovative next-generation studio like Lionsgate on a property that resonates so deeply with global audiences. The theatre is a fantastic medium to bring the many meaningful layers of Suzanne Collins’ writing to life.’ We look forward to seeing how these meaningful layers will be explored on stage without all those special effects! Fingers crossed they still do the flaming chariot.
