21 Rules Of Thumb Every Adult Should Know

by Miss Cellania

The readers of Cracked have come up with a useful collection of rules that you probably did not learn from your parents, because most of them solve problems no one had twenty or thirty years ago. Oh, sure, you learned etiquette from your mom, but you didn't learn about swiping photographs on someone else's smartphone.

Or how to gauge the best time to jump on a new piece of software. There are also rules about dressing, taking care of cats, planning an outing, and other rules of thumb that make perfect sense. Check them all out at Cracked. http://www.cracked.com/pictofacts-691-21-rules-thumb-every-adult-should-know/

Finally a Fitness Class for the Rest of Us: Napercise

by Jill Harness

Some people live for exercise. Some people avoid it at all costs -but now there's a reason for those people to join the gym as well. David Lloyd Gyms in England have just introduced the Napercise class, which is essentially just a gym studio where people can take a 45 minute long nap.

The gym was inspired to start the course after a study revealed that 86% of parents said they were fatigued. We all know that getting enough sleep is important for your health, so why not get healthy at the gym with a nice nap workout.

An A-maze-ing Way Around the Law

by Miss Cellania

A new law in India went into effect on April first that says all bars and liquor stores must be at least 500 meters from state and national highways. A lot of businesses have closed or moved since then, but one enterprising bar owner in Paravoor, Kerala, found a workaround to the new law. The Aishwarya Bar rearranged the fencing and built a maze from the street to lengthen the distance the distance to the bar!

"We have done nothing illegal. The plot behind the bar also belongs to the owner and we have constructed an extended way to reach the bar. Now it is 520 metres from the highway. We are set to approach the circle inspector of excise with the new route map to authorize the reopening of the bar," said Shiju P, bar manager.

Even the excise officials admitted the move by the management is acceptable. A Vijayan IPS, additional excise commissioner said,

"We do not measure the aerial distance but only the walking distance. However, they will be fined for altering the entrance."

A fine for a building code violation is much less painful than losing one's liquor license, as any bar owner will tell you. Still, you have to feel sorry for the patrons of the bar who have to find their way through the maze to get back home after a night of drinking. See more pictures of the maze at the India Times.  -Thanks, John Farrier!

15 Cool Things You Never Knew About Vikings

by Miss Cellania

Vikings are cool because we can use them in pop culture as a shortcut to connote violence and manliness -just right for a superhero action movie. But Vikings were a real group of seafaring Scandinavian conquerers who invaded far-flung places for hundreds of years. And guess what? They were quite manly and violent -at least the ones who did the conquering. They left their legacy in places all over Europe and even North America.

Learn something new about Vikings in a trivia list at TVOM. Be warned that some of those things can be disturbing.

Scorpion Stings Guy Flying United Airlines and People Are Too Ready With Hilarious Responses

FAIL,flight,Travel,reaction,airplane

United Airlines cannot catch a fucking break this week, dude. As the utter PR catastrophe that was Dr. Dao being forcibly removed from a flight (suffering concussion/other injuries in the process) unfolds, seemingly destined to only get worse...they get stung with this nightmare. Bruh. You can't have locked and loaded scorpions falling from overhead storage areas on your flights. Sure, this kind of madness probably pops up every now and again; but I can't think of a worse time for the company. Truly.

23 Funny Pics and Memes That Capture Hilarious Absurdity of "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia"

tv shows,Memes,TV,picture,funny

If there's one thing anyone accustomed with the show "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" knows, it's that you can count on the semi-functional, continually boozed up crew of starring degenerates to keep things seven kinds of crazy. If you haven't watched the show yet, maybe give it a shot: the 12 seasons and counting would suggest a fair amount of people seem taken with it.

Actors Who Began Their Careers On Miami Vice

by Zeon Santos

Miami Vice launched the career of Don Johnson while simultaneously destroying the career of Philip Michael Thomas, but did you know the hippest of all 80s crime shows also introduced the world to Jimmy Smits, Benicio Del Toro and Ben Stiller?

Jimmy Smits appeared on the first episode of Miami Vice as Crockett's first partner Eddie Rivera, in Jimmy's first on screen appearance.

Miami Vice was also Benicio Del Toro's first stop in a storied career when, at age 20, he appeared on the show as "Pito, an ex-con-turned-thespian with a local theater group, Mi Vida Loca."

For Ben Stiller Miami Vice was only his third appearance on TV, and yet he was already developing the kooky fast talking persona he's known for today when he appeared as Fast Eddie Felcher on episode 2 of season 4.

Miami Vice was also a major starting point for tough guy actor Dennis Farina, who worked as a consultant for exec. producer Michael Mann after 18 years with the Chicago Police Department.

Mann liked Dennis so much he not only cast him as recurring character Albert Lombard on Miami Vice- he cast Dennis as the lead in Crime Story, one of the best historical crime shows ever made.

Lastly we have Liam Neeson, who was already a bit of a veteran when he appeared on the first episode of Miami Vice's third season as a former IRA hitman who woos detective Gina Calabrese (Saundra Santiago).

Liam used his appearance on the show in 1986 to launch his film career in Hollywood, and he would play a similar character a year later in the film A Prayer For The Dying.

How Far Can You Drive Your Vehicle On Empty?

by Zeon Santos

Many drivers start to worry when that little red gas pump light comes on, and unless they know their car's fuel usage well they start to wonder how far they'll be able to go before they totally run out of gas.

Most cars have about 1 to 3 gallons left when the gas light comes on, which is why it's good to know how many miles per gallon your car gets so you know how far you can go before it sputters out.

This handy chart created by YourMechanic shows how much gas is remaining, and how far the car can go, when the fuel warning light is triggered in the 50 best selling cars in the U.S., so you'll never have to pull a Kramer to find out.

Kim Kardashian Is Now Selling A Pool Float Shaped Like Her Butt

by Zeon Santos

(Image Link)

Kim Kardashian's posterior has arguably become more famous than the woman herself, and it's virtually impossible to read about Kim K. without some wiseacre commenting on the size of her rear end.

This fact is not lost on Kim, so she has decided to embrace the attention and use her company Kimoji to capitalize on her famous assets- by selling pool floats shaped like her butt.

The totally tasteless Kimoji Butt Pool Float will set you back $98, which is less than Kim's butt charges to sign an autograph these days!

Hollywood Logic Explained in Charts

by Miss Cellania

Movies don't follow real world logic. If they did, there wouldn't be nearly as much conflict, or maybe because the audience wouldn't understand what's going on. Still, we have to wonder why the same stupid things happen in movie after movie.

Cracked readers explain that different pop culture logic in charts and graphs, with 19 of them rising to the top. Some concern particular movies or genres, some are even specific to a TV show, because those are made in Hollywood, too.

Pics Of Accidents Waiting To Happen...And One That Already Did

by Zeon Santos

(Image Link)

There are pictures that bring a smell to mind, pics that never fail to make us smile or frown, and then there are these sketchy photos that will make your mind scream "danger! DANGER!" as you wait for the accident to happen.

This cringe reflex kicks in despite our rational minds telling us the people in the photos are probably okay, because the related stories always center around a "near miss" or "miraculous survival".

(Image Link)

And yet when we see a photo of a guy with an arrow sticking out of his chest we feel an odd sense of vindication and relief, because we knew something bad was going to happen!

7 Epic Magician Rivalries

by Miss Cellania

If you're the star of a one-man specialty act, particularly in the traveling show days before TV, you have to be a little ruthless to remain number one. So it was with magicians who competed for audiences, or who just didn't like each other for one reason or another. Some of these rivalries went down in history, although it's a somewhat obscure history. For example, Ching Ling Foo was enraged that an imposter was trying to steal his thunder.

Renowned Chinese magician Ching Ling Foo had success traveling the world with his act, but was surprised to find that his arrival in England in 1904 had been preceded by an imposter: "Chung Ling Soo" was the stage name of William Robinson, an American who had audaciously pretended to be Asian. While both were performing in London, Foo challenged Soo to a magic duel where Soo would have to successfully perform at least 10 of 20 chosen tricks. Soo (a.k.a. Robinson) performed the following day for newspapermen, but Foo declined to appear, insisting Soo first provide proof of his Chinese heritage. Most of Foo’s protests went unheard: Soo had been there first, and his persona was so convincing that many believed it was Foo who was the inauthentic one.

The American upstart’s career was derailed for good in 1918, when he died while unsuccessfully performing the “bullet catch” trick on stage.

Taco Bell Plans to Introduce a Fried Egg Taco Shell

by Jill Harness

Taco Bell already pulled its much talked about Naked Chicken Chalupa, but it's about to be replaced by a delicious breakfast version -the Naked Breakfast Taco. This outrageous creation features a fried egg taco shell wrapped around bacon or sausage, nacho cheese, a three cheese blend and potatoes.

If you just can't handle the nakedness, you can at least add a gordita shell to ensure it's fully dressed.

Unfortunately, the Naked Breakfast Taco is still only being tested, so you'll have to head to Flint, Michigan to try it out. In the meanwhile, you can read more about it on Foodbeast.

17 Randomly Interesting Facts about Seinfeld

by Miss Cellania

Almost twenty years after it ceased production, Seinfeld is still on a lot of fans "must see" TV list in syndication and home video. For nine years, Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramer were NBC's John, Paul, George, and Ringo. Which was a pretty, pretty big deal for a show about nothing.

If Seinfeld is one of your best TV memories, you probably know a lot of trivia behind it, but you'll still find something new in this list of illustrated Seinfeld trivia at TVOM. If you've never seen the show, it might just to pique your interest.
