2K und Firaxis Games haben die Präsentation von Sid Meier's Civilization 6, die bei der E3 2016 'hinter verschlossenen Türen' gezeigt wurde, nun auch in Videoform veröffentlicht - in deutscher Sprache. Das Video beginnt mit dem Bau der ersten Stadt und der Modernisierung der Siedlung. Danach geht es um den Ressourcenhandel zwischen Städten, die Bezirke und ihre Aufgaben, die Wunder und das Militär. Auch die Politiken (in Kartenform) sowie die diplomatischen und kulturellen Optionen werden kurz angeschnitten, bevor ein Kontrahent mit Waffengewalt ausgeschaltet wird. "Dieses Video beinhaltet tatsächliches Gameplay, das nur im Ablauf für das Video bearbeitet wurde", heißt es vom Entwickler. Die weltweite Veröffentlichung ist für den 21. Oktober 2016 zum Preis von 59,99 Euro geplant.

Ah when creativity inspires creativity! Behold the work of professional artist Astor Alexander, who has made characters from The Witcher series, Mario, Zelda, BioShock and Metroid look very different indeed. He's turned them into pulp book covers, noir detective images and even Renaissance-style paintings.

His noir interpretation of The Witcher series has been doing the rounds for a little while, as have his other pictures before, but they're so nice I thought I'd throw them together anyway, and he's given me the go-head to share them.

He told me the inspiration for his Witcher noir pictures came from watching BBC's Sherlock and Supernatural shows no less! "It made sense to update The Witcher to modern times," he said.

An all Sega Game Gear game has just landed on the handheld known as Swabby. This is a game by homebrew developer Hang-On that is available for download via SMS Power, which features a well-known character from the Sega Master System era. Swabby is the one and only creature based on the hidden Snail Maze game that was built into many Sega Master Systems back in Sega’s glory days.

NG:DEV.TEAM are back with yet another update on their upcoming Neo Geo homebrew release Kraut Buster, a classic run & gun style arcade game drawing plenty of inspiration from the Metal Slug series. Accompanying an all new action packed trailer is the all important release date for those eager to add another AES cartridge to their collection.

Seamus Blackley, one of the original people who worked on the Xbox, has released concept art of varying designs for the original Xbox controller.

Namco has soft launched a new shoot 'em up called Galaga Wars in Canada and Australia. Now, when I first heard the name, I thought "Oh no, Namco's trying to do a Galaga Clash of Clans [Free] clone?" Because that's what "Wars" seemed to indicate. Amazingly, no: this is basically the Galaga take on Pac-Man 256 [Free], where you have one life, and advance through random formations of enemies. The game lets you fly about in all directions, so it's not entirely like Galaga, but it's still got the classic enemies in their formations, and the ship you can rescue from the enemy's clutches.

Galaga Wars can be a bit brutal, as shots can sometimes be hard to detect from the background. Oh, and the bugs come and feast on your ship's corpse when you die, no joke. The monetization seems largely hands-off, with a coin doubler and extra ships (from other Namco shoot 'em ups!) available for purchase. You get coins that can go toward upgrades and unlocking later starting zones, with warp capsules used to go to them. It's not a bad game, and might be worth giving a download if you're curious – here's a guide on how to download soft launch games if you need to know how.

Lethal Weapon – Zwei stahlharte Profis

Riggs und Murtaugh sind zurück in einem weiteren Actionthriller, bei dem man laut loslachen muss und sie nehmen es mit einer Gruppe von brutalen Diplomaten auf, die ihre eigene Immunität nutzen, um sich an kriminellen Machenschaften zu beteiligen. Als die Angelegenheit zwischen den Diplomaten, sowie Riggs und Murtaugh persönlich wird, beginnt ein Kampf, der in einem gewaltigen Showdown entdet. Joe Pesci legt in der Nebenrolle als Leo Getz eine überragende Performance ab.

Lethal Weapon 3 – Brennpunkt L.A. – Die Profis sind zurück

Lethal Weapon 3 zeigt das waghalsige Paar in einem schnelllebigen Thriller, in dem sie es mit einem ehemaligen Polizisten und einer Gang von Waffenschmugglern aufnehmen. Rene Russo spielt die Nebenrolle von Riggs neuer Flamme .

Lethal Weapon 4 – Zwei Profis räumen auf

Lethal Weapon 4 bringt Riggs und Murtaugh in der bisher tödlichsten Fortsetzung zurück auf die Leinwand. Riggs und Murtaugh haben wahrlich schon einiges zusammen durchgestanden, doch sie werden noch einmal auf die Probe gestellt, als sie es mit der skrupellosen Dreiergruppe Wah Sing Ku aufnehmen, die versucht, ihren niederträchtigen Bruder bei der Flucht aus dem Gefänigs zu helfen. Chris Rock spielt in der Nebenrolle des Polizisten Lee Butters und Joe Pesci ist selbstverständlich wieder als Leo Getz dabei.

As part of an April Fools hoax last year, Hyperkin taunted retro gamers with a mockup of hardware that would allow the use of Game Boy cartridges on smartphones. Although anything but their intention, Hyperkin were left wondering how to deal with the flood of genuine interest in such a device. The Xbox One has a new customisable controller! That’s right, you can visit this website right here, and start playing around with your own custom controller designs.

The system works really well, allowing you to customise every part of the controller with different coloured parts, and people are pretty excited. Unfortunately, though, according to Ars Technica the controllers are only going to be available to gamers in the US this year – us Europeans are going to be waiting a while.

In this article, Ars explains that “Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox Design Lab and its customised Xbox controllers aren’t coming to the UK or Europe until 2017 at the earliest. Pricing is unconfirmed, but will probably be about £60 when it launches in the UK.”

It’s disappointing news on one hand for European gamers, who will have to wait for their sweet, bright orange and lime green controllers laser etched with ‘zZz_t3hH4xx0r_zZz’, but at least £60 is palatable.

Final Fantasy 15 is getting an arcade beat-'em-up spin-off called A King's Tale: Final Fantasy 15.

Revealed during Square Enix's E3 livestream, this retro title is coming to PS4 and Xbox One on 30th September to coincide with the launch of Final Fantasy 15 proper.

The bad news: It's a retailer-exclusive title. So far it's slated to come to GameStop and EB Games in the US and Canada, while its UK availability is yet to be announced.

Remember the Pip-Boy from the Fallout 4: Pip-Boy edition of the game? Bethesda just announced a better - and more expensive - Pip-Boy due out later in 2016.

Unlike last year's Pip-Boy, The Pip-Boy: Deluxe Bluetooth Edition, which costs $350, comes with an integrated screen and its own on-board software and hardware. It pairs with your Bluetooth phone or tablet to give you access to your phone's ability to take and place calls (from Preston Garvey, about another settlement of course), as well as contacts, texts and audio files. So yes, you can take calls on your Pip-Boy and listen to music through it.

The Pip-Boy can also be used as an alarm clock. The top compartment stores a holotape that's a USB drive. It comes with with a RobCo Industries stand that doubles as a charging base and speaker. And, according to ThinkGeek, which created the Pip-Boy under license from Bethesda, most of the knobs, dials and buttons actually work.

The first images of the oft-rumoured Xbox One slim model surfaced today, ahead of a full reveal at Microsoft's E3 2016 press conference tomorrow.

As the first image notes, the Xbox One slim will be called the Xbox One S and is 40% smaller than the original Xbox One. It will come with a 2TB hard drive, a vertical stand, '4K Ultra HD Video' functionality, and a 'streamlined' controller.

An update to Fallout Shelter [Free] is set to release in July 2016. The game will be getting a bunch of new content that should help expand the experience. Dwellers can be sent on quests now, and there will be new locations such as a Super Duper Mart to explore. New enemies will be there to fight, but to help with that, you'll have a new combat system to help you take on those enemies. Check out the footage starting at 2:10 below:

The Fallout simulation game will be expanding to PC as well in July, appropriately enough around with the update to Fallout 4 letting you build your own Vault, with Bethesda showing off a similar view in that update similar to Fallout Shelter. Interesting. Bethesda said curiously enough that this was the most-played Bethesda game in history, and with so many Fallout fans out there, there's sure to be more playing the game after this latest update. And considering this was a major release from Bethesda's E3 show last year, it's only appropriate that future content was revealed here.
