WildCat is a four-legged robot being developed to run fast on all types of terrain. So far WildCat has run at about 16 mph on flat terrain using bounding and galloping gaits.

Earlier this year word got out that NASA is funding mechanical engineer Anjan Contractor to develop a food printer, which the space agency hopes can be used to feed astronauts during long distance space travel, such as on a trip to Mars. At this month’s SXSW Eco Anjan showed off a prototype of his printer making simple and tiny approximations of pizza.

According to Texas news channel KXAN, the printer uses cartridges containing powdered ingredients that can be kept for years. I’m not sure how the powdered ingredients turn into liquid, but in the video below you can see the printer piling cheese and tomato sauce over a layer of dough. The heated plate adds the finishing touch to the cutting edge pizza. The prototype can make one of this… pizza-ish thing in 12 minutes. Skip to 0:46 in the video below to see the printer at work:

Contractor and his company have yet to earn the approval of the FDA, so it might be a while before Dominos starts offering instant in-home delivery from these things.

Citing multiple sources "close to the situation," Eurogamer is claiming that the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V will be released in the first quarter of 2014 (January to March). There's been a lot of speculation about a PC version of the game being released, but Rockstar has been pretty quiet about it so far.

Four students were stabbed in Houston, Texas. Three students were injured and one was killed in the brutal attack. The Spring High School stabbing is being investigated as “gang-related.”

The school was locked down immediately following the early morning stabbing. Authorities report that the incident occurred at around 7 am in the school cafeteria.

As reported by USA Today, the teens were involved in a physical confrontation. Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia explains that the four students were stabbed with a “cutting instrument.”

In addition to the student who was killed, two others received minor injuries.

The fourth teen was critically injured. He was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he underwent surgery for his injuries. The teen remains in critical condition.

Three suspects are currently in custody for stabbing the students. Houston police have not released their names or ages. Witnesses report that two of the suspects were escorted from the school in handcuffs.

Parents were informed about the incident via e-mail and automated phone calls. The memo explained that the school would remain on lockdown pending investigation of the stabbing.

Authorities have said the student stabbing in Houston was likely gang related. However, not everyone agrees.

The student who died was a 16-year-old boy. His father states that his son “was just trying to come to school.” His aunt agrees, asserting that the stabbing “was random.”

Spring School District superintendent Ralph Draper commended the authorities’ fast response. He says the police arrived on scene within one minute of receiving the call.

As reported by NBC News, all buildings in the Spring School District will have additional security in the following weeks. Grief counselors will be available to help students and faculty cope with the tragedy.

This is the second incident this year where students were stabbed in Houston. The Lone Star College Cypress campus was the site of a stabbing incident in April.
