Even if the boyfriend is a terrible human being, this way of handling the situation is not likely to result in the daughter siding with the dad. She says that she is 18, he clearly says he’s going to make up a reason to arrest the boyfriend, and he involves unrelated people just for intimidation’s sake.
When the boyfriend asks why he's been stopped, the officer replies: "Have a seat in my car. We'll make (expletive) up as we go."
