I love reading huge series and always will try read the whole thing before reading something else. It seems that these days more and more authors are stretching out thier series and I wonder why.
First thought that comes to mind is the whole more books equals more money thing but then I feel bad and think that the authors are so invested in the world they are writing about that it grows beyond what they anticipated, they do not even know how many books it will be.
My main issue is that I just want to be informed, I will often start a series knowing the last book is out or coming soon (R Scott Bakker you brilliant bastard) only to find that nope still need to wait two years. I actually enjoy re-reading series so I am not so sure what I am going on about, guess I just want to know!
Like Brandon Sanderson's series, not sure what its called (stormlight archives maybe) he has already said it will be ten books or so, so if I start it I know what I'm getting into.
Thinking about it now the main purpose of this post is to put my thought out there to others who love fantasy as much as I do.
