On the day before we came home we drove down to Surfers Paradise.
There are a lot of buildings, a lot of sand and pretty good surf and thats about it oh I forgot lots of people.
But now I can say I've been there.
Back at my sons place, this was my room I had lots of American football posters for he has always been interested in it. I just do not understand it very well but I don't know much about our Aussie rules football and prefer to watch it on TV as they tell you what's going on otherwise I'm at a loss to what's happening most of the time.
My daughter in law made this pillow, she has just got a sewing machine and I was showing her how to use it.
They have nice big rooms with lots of windows.
And lots of bits are a giving it a homely touch.
Dee smoking area, she had to smoke outside at my place too but she even smokes outside at her place too in the snow now that would be tough, even as a reformed smoker I have a under cover area for when it rains for the beer fairy to smoke in, nasty habit glad i gave it up.

And the cats, there are a few, this is their sleeping and eating area.

Employees of D&D Advertising 5700 and 5750 Wilshire will have more room to make power deals and smoke furtively behind plants—the actual courtyard of the Wilshire Courtyard office buildings in Miracle Mile, famous for its role on Melrose Place, is in the midst of a major renovation. Owner Tishman Speyer, which bought the campus in 2012, is bringing in new landscaping to the courtyard and adding planter boxes and covered seating. Upgrades are also coming to the building itself, with tweaks to the valet lobby, new light fixtures in common corridors, and restroom remodels; plus the "exterior trim, balcony planters, and interior atrium trim will be repainted a modern steel-like color." Work wraps in the fall.
According to public records, this Laurel Canyon post and beam, designed by architect Don Hensman in 1958, last traded hands about a year ago for $625,000. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any photos floating around the web that show what the house looked like at the time of this transaction, but given its relatively low sale price, we'd venture to guess it wasn't in prime condition. Per its listing, the three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath residence "has been updated from the ground up, with installation of new major systems, including updated copper plumbing, tankless water heater, recessed/track lighting, new roof, HVAC, and custom hardscape, and landscape." It's also got a new kitchen and redone bathrooms with "custom walnut cabinetry, Caesarstone counters, commercial-grade Thermador appliances, new designer ceramic floors," and new lights and fixtures. Other features of the 1,955-square-foot modern house include walls of glass, beamed ceilings (painted white, sigh), a brick fireplace (also painted white), and a "reflecting pond." Sited on an 8,242-square-foot lot, it's now hoping to fetch $1.55 million.
Come on, did you really think the web of bridges at Glendale and Hyperion in Silver Lake/Atwater Village would be built with all that blatant car-favoritism in its design, without a bike lane or even a crosswalk on it? With an "explosion of public comment" and a swiftness to rally that surprised even the rallyers themselves, a public advisory committee was formed shortly after those car-centric plans were unveiled and quickly set about altering the course of the bridges. Now three new community-sourced plans, revealed at a meeting last week, all include bike lanes, at least one sidewalk, and a road diet, reports Streetsblog. The debate now is all about sidewalks—how many to have, and where to have them? Whether or not any of the plans actually comes to be depends on an extension of the grant for the retrofit (the extension was applied for last fall so that any changes made to the design would have a chance of being implemented), but both the mayor's office and the folks at the Bureau of Engineering feel pretty confident that will happen.

This B- list mostly television comedic actor who also pops up in the movies in certain situations was out partying the other night and was surrounded by hordes of women. I'm not sure how this guy does it. Anyway he told the women that he was only interested in brunettes for the night and refused to talk to any women who were not brunettes. He then winnowed it down even further before finding someone to take back to his hotel for a few hours. Yay she won. She must be so proud.

This Academy Award winning actress is B list. Seems to be in everything. Got her start in a television franchise. Was eating dinner with a guy she has dated for a few weeks. They had a private room. About thirty minutes after the couple arrived everyone in the room next to theirs could hear the actress yelling out during sex. It turns out a side door to the room was still open. A waiter discreetly closed it but not before about three or four minutes of some very choice words and phrases from our actress. Yes, it will be revealed.
This hit MTV show is full of real life drama. A lead actress on the show had an affair with a co-star which destroyed her marriage but her relationship with her new guy ended because he was cheating on her with another actress he met at a cast party who is not on the show but has dated another cast member on the show.
This former B list mostly television actor who hasn't done much since his hit almost network show ended its run was at a club this past week with his celebrity girlfriend. Our actor brought out his fake accent. Yes, he has one in real life but he really brings it out when he is hitting on women. Yes, in front of his girlfriend who ran away crying when the drunk actor started sitting women in his lap and asking them if they wanted to play some kind of elf game. No one could quite make out what he was saying but he managed to make out with a few of the women anyway.
Sunnyvale, CA-based artist Hoang Tran (previously featured here) continues to create so many awesome pop culture-based crayon sculptures that we can’t help but share some more. Last time we featured crayon sculptures of Adventure Time characters. Today we’re treated to carved and painted pieces from Doctor Who, Spirited away, Star Wars, Hellboy, The Sandman, and sweet little BMO (who was still a work in progress last time).

Last week, when the polar vortex, something that ought to be a frozen rum cocktail with an umbrella on top, but is sadly anything but, had begun to descend its icy grasp on all parts of the U.S., I made the best pot of soup of my life.
I realize I said the same — well, I technically called it “the best thing I ate in December” — about last Monday’s soup and that you think I’m being a bit melodramatic and that I need to go to some sort of calm-down-it’s-just-soup rehab for superlative abuse, but you’re only thinking that because you haven’t made this yet. Because while Monday may have been all about the parmesan brodo, by Tuesday night, we were all, “brodo who?” as we dug into bowls of intensely flavored broth with huge tears of succulent chicken and a tangle of rice noodles, topped with everything from scallions to mung bean sprouts, slivers of jalapeno and crispy-fried shallots, basil and cilantro and heady splashes of lime juice, hoisin and garlic-chili sauce that nothing will ever be right without again.
