Quando entrevistadas as pessoas do experimento diziam que usavam características faciais para identificar os outros, mas curiosamente os testes onde mostraram só carinhas tiveram uma taxa de acerto menor que os testes mostrando só corpitchos.
Essa maluquice está me lembrando o Blindsight, a Ficção Científica Mais Depressiva de Todos os Tempos, que estou lendo agora. Lá também é cheio de coisinhas onde processos subconscientes tapeiam a consciência dos personagens, e vice-versa...
P.S.: a utilidade das descobertas para coisas de "police state"porém é meio questionável. O experimento foi muito específico: mostravam duas fotos diferentes que podiam ou não ser da mesma pessoa, mostrando só o corpo ou só a cara, e pediam para os subjects dizer se era ou não a mesma pessoa. Não sei se alguém (ou algum algoritmo) conseguiria porém pegar uma imagem avulsa só de um corpo e identificar de quem era em um DB de, digamos, milhões de corpos diferentes.

LuciocAgora outro ataque de "VAMOS TODOS MORRER" que ficou fascinante, porque aparentemente o cara desconhece completamente o conceito de parágrafos! Fica muito mais assustador escrito assim!
I really believe a die off of around six billion people is upon us. I am not an expert just a fond reader of ecology and economics and the whole collapse subject matter. I think its highly unrealistic to believe it will be slow collapse. Slow collapse is what has happened since 2000. And soon this slow collapse will snowball into larger TIPPING POINT. I think authors like Richard Heinberg are intentionally sugar coating the end of their books so they can sell them and profit off of collapse. They are just another sick soul who clings to the old system of wealth and profit even as the Titanic takes on water. I believe what Collin Campbells predicts economically are accurate. And they have been proven accurate as well. Banking collapse leads to low oil prices which leads to short increase in growth again. Until oil gets to high and back down we go. Rinse and repeat. The world banks have pumped in trillions of dollars kept interest rates at near zero, allowed debt to be raised at record levels. And nothing has worked, nothing has grown to prior levels in 08 since. Middle east is burning down, Greece, Italy, Spain and the rest of Europe is going bankrupt. And the west has high unemployment, large number of people in poverty, exploding debts ,and its currency is going down the toilet. As you can clearly see the whole collapse of civilization is going on right as I type now. Soon we will reach the tipping point. That is the part of Campbells message I think is so important. Its not the collapse of oil production that is such big issue. Its the VISION of the long decline that last forever. And when the big banks and wall street figure this out it becomes undeniable. Once they figure out recovery to the US economy is impossible forever. They will rush like bulls for the exits. And it will take less then three hours thanks to technology and computers for them to have another ELECTRONIC RUN on the banks like they did in 2008.
So fast collapse almost already happened and the only thing that saved us was massive bailouts our grandchildren are supposed to work off. We shot our only bullet and it did hardly any bit of good because here we are in 2013. great success. Our global systems have to keep growing or it dies plain and simple. Its done growing because we have used up all the cheap energy that it was built upon. Its just matter of time before wall street throws in the towel. The fed is trapped like rats and they know it. The IEA is lying about their future projections in Oil as well. They are full of shit if they really expect me to believe we will be producing five more Saudi Arabia's by 2030 from sucking oil out of rocks in the Dakota's. And the Media use the IEA along with the corrupted politicians as there source for knowledge. Once again they are CHANGING THE VISION on purpose to avoid any panic or rational on this very sensitive subject. Yet this is going to do us no good in the end. Because all it means is they are hiding the real energy cliff ahead. So how do people actually argue this SLOW DECLINE nonsense is beyond me. Forbes had an article the other day saying SUV sails are up in America due to the new oil boom going on these days. See how the IEA are leading the world off cliff. People are actually buying less fuel efficient vehicles. Even though the price of oil has doubled since 2005 and we are headed right for massive oil spike that's going to take their breath away. The leaders of America have obviously chosen to keep the people in the dark for their own good. Because the truth of the road ahead is so terrible they couldn't possibly handle it. And they would panic and go WILD! So they are keeping everything in the dark like Australia with their leaked secret report on peak oil. And Germany with their secret leaked report. And UK with their secret meetings with the bank of London about peak oil. And when Dr Hirsch finished his US energy department assessment on peak oil he was told. No more talking about and researching peak oil. And they wanted to conceal the knowledge from the US public.
Everything is a big secret yet anyone can read the research online and the REAL SCIENCE behind the issues. So we all know where we are headed. We all know they hiding the truth from the public for their own good and mental well being. Slow collapse is just another form of wishful thinking. oh it will be slow so don't get worried about it, just make some changes, plant a garden, grow flowers, and we will all be okay. Just ride bicycle. Just think about it (will a garden be able to replace my grocery store, will flowers really cheer me up, and will bicycle really work instead of my car here in the midwest of America?) of course not this is all nonsense written by the ecological community to try to paint a nice "yellow brick road" at the ending. Ive heard it all. There is no denying we are being marched off Seneca's cliff! And its dead ahead! So enjoy the present day! Because the future is going to be so dark and scary even your own leaders choose to not disclose it. The Apocalypse aka Doomsday is coming! And Nature will decide who makes its and who doesn't. And even if you make it you will be so traumatized from everything you have witnessed and lived through. You will most likely want to blow your brains out! What is coming will be so dark its your worst fears ever imagined a living hell and nightmare you can't awake from or escape from. I wish I could deliver better news I am just trying to be accurate and honest. Its so dark they don't even believe the public could had the truth of the matter. That confirms its our worst fears imaginable. Of course the Government will try to CULL the population down to more sustainable level but that plan will fail miserably. That means fast collapse pals! And its coming our way! Expect a die off of 6 billion or greater. Now go ahead and down vote you gutless slow collapser's. People better get ready because most are about to be robbed/attacked/eaten...

This would explain unlimited reckless spending, countless acts of aggression, FEMA/DHS/IRS/Police departments militarizing and gearing up (esp for OCT 1, knew of shutdown?) etc.
When what they are doing makes sense in a context, it scares me.
