Pussy Riot - I Can't Breathe

by Joe Jervis
From their clip description:
Pussy Riot's first song in English is dedicated to Eric Garner and the words he repeated eleven times before his death. This song is for Eric and for all those from Russia to America and around the globe who suffer from state terror - killed, choked, perished because of war and state sponsored violence of all kinds - for political prisoners and those on the streets fighting for change. We stand in solidarity. Pussy Riot's Masha and Nadya are being buried alive in the Russian riot police uniforms that are worn during the violent clashes of police and the protesters fighting for change in Russia. A pack of "Russian Spring" brand cigarettes is on the ground at the beginning. "Russian Spring" is a term used by those who are in love with Russia's aggressive militant actions in Ukraine, and the cigarettes are a real thing.

Wrap Her Wrist in Nature

by Lisa Marcus

These lovely bangle bracelets are made of resin embedded with nature's embellishments such as flowers, leaves, bark, shells and pine cones. The bracelets are hand made.

The jewelry, which includes rings and pendants, is generally available at Modern Flower Child at Etsy. However, likely overwhelmed with orders as a result of their recent press, the shop has an announcement up that they're taking a break to fulfill orders. The jewelry is also available through Fairie magazine. See the offerings and inquire about stock there. -Via Colossal

by Ellie Shechet

I don't know if this series will ever get old: In honor of Valentine's Day, we are reunited with Tiny Hamster, this time accompanied by a Tiny Date. LOVE IS IN THE AIR! Overseen by their anxious, mustachioed human friend, the pair take a romantic gondola ride to Tony's Restaurant, where they are served perciatelli pasta with red quinoa meatballs.

Madonna - Living For Love

by Joe Jervis
The video launched yesterday on Snapchat.
"Living for Love" shows Madonna dressed as a bullfighter fighting her dancers dressed as bulls. The dramatic visual, which takes place on a stage in front of a blood red velvet curtain, was directed by J.A.C.K. (Julien Choquart and Camille Hirigoyen) and ends with a Friedrich Nietzsche quote ("Man is the cruelest animal. At tragedies, bullfights and crucifixions he has felt best on earth; and when he invented hell for himself that was his very heaven.")

I'm Rick James: 15 Hours Of The Funk Supernova's Best Songs

by Jason King

Hear a mix of songs made by Motown's most successful post-Detroit star — an authentic live wire and an ultrasavvy professional who's misremembered and underappreciated.

Sign Language Guy Steals Storm Presser

by Joe Jervis
Bill De Blasio's super-emotive sign language interpreter stole the show at yesterday's conference on the blizzard, spawning a mini-meme on Twitter.
Mayor de Blasio took the impending blizzard seriously Monday — and so did his expressive sign language interpreter. Interpreter Jonathan Lamberton’s animated gestures and facial expressions got rave reviews on social media. “The sign language interpreter is incredibly animated . . . to the point where I am not really listening to de Blasio,” wrote Twitter user Laura Bedrossian. “De Blasio's sign language interpreter wins this press conference w/the best facial expressions ever.” Katie Halper chimed in: “You know who's NOT phoning it in? The sign language interpreter at @BilldeBlasio's Blizzard presser."
He's rather hypnotic.

Daily Show: Sarah Palin's Iowa Speech Was Actual Goddamn Gibberish

What could be more fun than the lead-up to the Republican presidential primaries, when people like Donald Trump and Sarah Palin make their usual, unintentionally hilarious Running For President noises? But as the Daily Show pointed out last night, Palin's recent speech at the Iowa Freedom Summit crossed into... well, actual noise. Seriously, it was nonsense. U ok, Sarah?

Verdant Canopy

by Lisa Marcus

Molyvos, Lesvos, Greece | Image: Jay 21310

This collection of photographs consists of streets that are glorious with natural adornment. Flowers and trees so lush and mature in their state of growth that they form colorful canopies which frame the streets.

This is a user-submitted list that invites readers to post other photographs matching the theme. I can think of of such a walkway that fits the bill but is not represented: The Mall, a row of gorgeous Elm trees lining a wide street in Central Park. Have you encountered any such streets in your travels that are missing from the list? See all the photos here.

REVIEW: 'A Map of Virtue' by Cor Theatre

by Nina Metz

oof :/

The press materials peg playwright Erin Courtney's drama as a "hauntingly romantic play with a mystery at its center," a mischaracterization as baffling as it is just plain wrong.

Abbi's Naked Dancing on Broad City Made Lady Gaga, Everyone Happy

by Clover Hope

It's been said that naked apartment-dancing is the best perk of living alone. I know a thing or ten about that. In this Broad City scene from Wednesday night's episode, Abbi rocks out to Lady Gaga's "Edge of Glory" after realizing her apartment is finally a Bevers-free zone.

A Tail Of Two Friends

One’s big and has a long, floppy tail. The other is small and WANTS the long, floppy tail. That sums it up nicely.

(Mashable. Also note- not much sound in this one, no need for Speakers Up.)

Whimsical Octopus Chandeliers

by Lisa Marcus

Philadelphia-based artist Adam Wallacavage (previously) makes delightful chandeliers and sconces with tentacled arms. It's a concept that almost seems like a logical progression of thought, when one considers the traditional shape of chandeliers and their multiple arms.

Wallacavage uses materials such as plaster and epoxy resin to form the structure of the fixture, and the fanciful finish is done with iridescent paints, powders and glitter. Each chandelier is unique, so the owner ends up with a one-of-a-kind piece.

See more photos of Wallacavage's deep sea designs here, and visit his websiteto see more of his work (he's also an accomplished photographer). Additionally, check out his blog and follow him on Instagram.
