About After War Gundam X Collection 1 DVD

In After War Gundam X, what started as a single space colony's war for independence turned into an all-out war between the space colonies and Earth. No one was safe from the conflict, and Earth, the home of all humanity, suffered heavy damage in the fighting. Almost all of Earth's population – once as many as ten billion people – was lost. It's only now, 15 years after the end of the war, that Earth's environment has at last stabilized again.

Garrod Ran is a war orphan, but when it comes to mobile suits, he has superb knowledge and skills. He receives a request from a mysterious gentleman to rescue a girl named Tiffa; and so he sneaks aboard the Freeden, the land warship where she is held captive. With the girl safely in his care, he returns to the mysterious gentleman, but when Tiffa sees the man, she's overcome with panic. Quickly judging the situation, Garrod takes her and escapes. Guided by her unusual powers, they end up at the remains of an old Federation factory, where they find the mobile suit “Gundam X”...

___________

A huge experiment in player psychology occurred in October 2015 - but it went unnoticed in the games industry because it was the lottery conducting this experiment. The Multi State Lottery Association (MUSL) significantly lowered the odds of anyone winning the Powerball. With fewer winners, the jackpot grew and grew, and in the first week of January 2016 we saw what would turn out to be the biggest player numbers in Powerball history. Even though the odds of winning are worse, the appeal of the giant jackpot makes it so there's an exponential increase in the number of people who want to try their luck. We have to wonder, is there a point where the odds become so low it actually discourages players, or will the size of the reward become irresistible no matter how unlikely we know we are to win? Game designers expect players to be rational actors who will favor the most efficient route to success (power leveling, loot grinding, and son). But the lottery results suggest that may not always be the case. Many games, especially MMOs, could stand to experiment with incentive systems that incorporate more "Big Score" type events like the lottery and less "The Job" type grinding that we're used to.

"Fist of the North Star" Statue Conquers Hokkaido Shinkansen Station

by news+feed@crunchyroll.com

After being remodeled to service the Hokkaido Shinkansen, a bullet-train operated by the Hokkaido Railway Company, the newly renamed Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station in Hokuto City, Hokkaido, Japan, will be unveiling a pun-based collaboration with the ultra-violent, post-apocalyptic manga and TV anime, Fist of the North Star, in the form of a bronze statue.

The statue will be on public display at the station beginning on March 26, 2016, when the Hokkaido Shinkansen service is scheduled to begin. The collaboration is based on a bit of wordplay: the Japanese title of Fist of the North Star is Hokuto no Ken, and Kenshiro, the protagonist of the series, practices a secret martial art known as hokuto shin ken.

"Fate" Series Saber Recast As A Master For New Figure

by news+feed@crunchyroll.com

Back during promotion for the Fate/Zero anime, fans were asked what other classes they'd like to see Artoria summoned as. Master won, followed by Rider, Berserker and Lancer. Type-Moon co-founder Takashi Takeuchi followed up on this suggestion with art of the character in school uniform with a katana and a Command Spell. That has now inspired a 1/7 scale figure from Alter, sculpted by Ryou Hashimoto.

The 22cm figure sells for 13,824 with a July release scheduled.

Miaka, a junior high school student in Tokyo, has normal problems: fights with her mom, entrance exams, and deciding where she's going to go eat with her friends. But when she finds a mysterious book in the library, her life is changed forever when she and her best friend are transported inside!

The Mystical book "The Universe of the Four Gods" was finally closed when Miaka made her last wish or so everyone had thought. But the old enemies have returned from beyond the grave to claim their revenge. This time Tamahome is drawn into the book to become one of the Seiryu Seven.

Mayo Sakaki is a 16-year-old girl who attends Yotsubadai High School. Upon finding "The Universe of the Four Gods" in a trash bin at the park, Mayo soon discovers that the story remains incomplete. In the unfamiliar world of the book, Mayo must come to terms with her own life and the unhappiness within it.
