Even after the record-breaking opening weekend, the 20th Detective Conan film, Meitantei Conan: Jyunkoku no Nightmare/Detective Conan: Pure Black Nightmare is still going strong at Japanese box office, taking first place again with 679,206,300 yen on 522,023 admissions in its second weekend. The 20th film's total gross has already reached 2.5 billion yen, and it is expected to earn over 5 billion yen from its entire domestic run.
Two new Japanese animation films ranked in the top 10 last weekend. Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Dark Side of Dimensions, the 20th anniversary film of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise earned 133,010,600 yen on 92,396 ticket sales from 136 theaters. The previous Yu-Gi-Oh! film, Yu-Gi-Oh!: Bonds Beyond Time, was released in January 2010, earning approximately 100 million yen from 124 screens. Meanwhile, Zutto Mae Kara Suki Deshita.: Kokuhaku Jikkou Iinkai, based on HoneyWorks's Vocaloid song project, made 8th place debut with 70,507,400 yen from 84 screens.
