Kore Yamazaki’s manga The Ancient Magus' Bride  -- which first debuted in anime as an OVA  -- will be getting the full TV series treatment later this year courtesy of Wit Studio (home of Attack on Titan). Better still, you will be able to watch it here on Crunchyroll!

 

Right now, we only have the announcement to share, with more details about exact start date and time forthcoming further down the road, but don't worry... The Ancient Magus' Bride TV series (designed as a two cour anime) is coming in Ocotber 2017

Ad-supported movie and TV streaming site Tubi TV has bolstered its anime catalogue once again with two new offerings: the anime TV series Arjuna and the film Adolescence of Utena.

Earth Maiden Arjuna is the creation of Shoji Kawamori (Macross, Escaflowne) and focuses on Juna, a young girl saved from death on the condition that she will join the fight to save Earth from creatures known as Raaja. It features a score by Yoko Kanno, which spanned two CDs. The series is heavily influenced by Hinduism and the Bhagavad Gita. All 13 episodes are currently available to watch streaming.

 

 

1999's Adolescence of Utena was a big-screen re-interpretation of Kunihiko Ikuhara's manga and anime Revolutionary Girl Utena, featuring similar themes with a heavily altered, far more surreal storyline. As with the series, it tells the story of Utena, a female exchange student who dreams of being a prince; and Anthy, the Student Council's "Rose Bride" who allegedly grants untold powers to whomever can win her in a duel. It, too, is now available to watch, as is the original series, both in dubbed format.

 

Tubi TV is owned by Adrise, which has been streaming ad-supported content since 2014. Their catalogue includes anime, cult classics, documentaries, films, reality TV, and more.

The ALTA Vision in Shinjuku and the UDX Vision in Akihabara, two of the biggest street visions in Tokyo, today started screening a teaser clip announcing the return of Sheryl Nome, one of the two main heroines in the Macross Frontier anime series. The character was voiced by Aya Endou, and her singing voice was performed by May'n. She has been considered as one of the most successful singer/idol characters in the 35-year-old franchise.

 

The clip will be shown randomly till March 11, then a two-minute announcement movie about her return will be screened only once on the two street visions at 14:30 on March 12 (JST). Her return is confirmed as the first project for the Macross franchise's 35th anniversary, and more projects are expected to be revealed soon.

DMM Games, the creators of Kantai Collection and Touken Ranbu, have announced on Twitter that as of today, their Legend of Galactic Heroes browser game is no more.

 

Legend of Galactic Heroes Tactics launched in January 2016, allowing players to join either the Free Planets Alliance or the Galactic Empire and engage in turn-based warfare using iconic ships from the game. As with all such games, LoGH Tactics also had its share of seasonal campaigns, including some new art for fans of the vintage series.

 

 

While the game may no longer be playable, you can still peruse the site and check out the art and mechanical designs that were featured in the browser-based game.

 

DMM said little about the closing, only giving their thanks to players for their patronage and encouraging them to look forward to future titles.

The official website for the upcoming 21st Detective Conan feature film Karakurenai no Love Letter/Crimson Love Letter today announced that its theme song "Togetsu-kyou - Kimi Omou -" (The Togetsu-kyo Bridge, Dreaming about You) is performed by 34-year-old singer Mai Kuraki. Togetsu-kyo is a 155-meter bridge over the Katsura River in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City, one of the well-known scenic places in the old capital.

 

Starting with the 9th ED song "Secret of my heart" in 2000, Kuraki has provided many OP/ED theme songs for the Detective Conan TV anime series including the current 53rd ED "YESTERDAY LOVE," and "Togetsu-kyo" is her 21st collaboration song for the franchise. You can check the song in the film's 90-second full trailer also posted online today.

Japanese game developers Asobimo have just launched service for BTOOOOM! Online, a smart phone game for Android and iOS that propels players into the explosive world of Junya Inoue's manga and TV anime, but the game itself isn't the only thing that has lit a fuse in the hearts of BTOOOM! fans.

 

 

At a special event hyping the launch of BTOOOM! Online that was held in Tokyo on February 27, 2017, game producer Masato Hayashi concluded the presentation with a tantalizing public promise: if BTOOOM! Online makes it into the top 5 domestic app sales ranking, a new season of the BTOOOM! TV anime will be greenlit.

 

 

BTOOOM! Online is a "stealth bomber action" game in which 6 to 8 players gather chips by collecting supply drops and slaying their opponents with specialized explosive devices known as "BIMs". Presently, the game features two arenas - an urban combat zone and the jungle prison. The game also features the voice talents of Suzuko Mimori, Haruka Terui, Sora Tokui, Tomokazu Sugita, Takehito Koyasu, and Ryōta Ōsaka.

 

 

BTOOOM! Online launches in Japan on February 28, 2017. The game uses a basic "free-to-play" model with in-game item purchases.

Mr Mimura then goes on to share his thoughts about the differences between the US and Japanese markets, and how to work with new talent in Japan. He then gives his thoughts on seinen manga in the US and why it is taking some time to catch on.

Enthusiast site Den of Geeks has reported that last weekend's New York Toy Fair industry expo featured promotions proclaiming that season three of Voltron: Legendary Defender will hit Netflix in September 2017. Leading into these 13 episodes, “additional content” from season two will be this April, into the summer. Along with this, ten episodes of Classic Voltron would premiere on Netflix in March with “new content added”. 

 

The previously indicated 78-episode commitment from Netflix was also reportedly reiterated, suggesting a potential six seasons.

It is Universal Century 0079, at the end of the One Year War between the Earth Federation and the Principality of Zeon.

The space colonies of Side 4, or Moore, were previously destroyed by a Zeon attack, and many colonists lost their lives. Side 4 became a shoal zone filled with the wreckage of destroyed colonies and warships, lit by constant flashes of lightning due to collisions between electrified debris. It soon came to be known as the "Thunderbolt Sector."

The Moore Brotherhood, an Earth Federation Forces unit made up of surviving citizens from Moore, set out to exterminate the Zeon forces in the Thunderbolt Sector in order to reclaim their homeland. To halt the Federation advance, the Zeon forces deployed their own Living Dead Division, which was established to collect combat data on soldiers with prosthetic limbs.

Io Fleming, though part of the Moore Brotherhood, hates being tied down by his homeland and family history.
