In an interview with Dengeki Online during a demo event for A Certain Magical Virtual-On, producer Juuro Watari announced that there will be a demo for the game coming to PlayStation Store on December 14.

The official site for the ongoing 14th PreCure TV anime series Kirakira PreCure a la Mode announced today on December 9 that the two singers of its OP/ED theme songs, Yuri Komagata (OP "SHINE! Kirakira PreCure a la Mode") and Kanako Miyamoto (1st ED "Let's La Cooking Showtime" and 2nd "Shubidubi Sweets Time") will voice the next 43rd episode's guest characters, Yuri and Kanako, inspired by themselves.

The next episode "Secret ingredients is courage! Himari's future recipe!" focuses on Himari Arisugawa (Cure Custard)'s challenge to an audition for an assistant of a sweets cooking TV show. Yuri and Kanako are two of the participants of the audition. While Miyamoto previously played Makoto Kenzaki/Cure Sword in the 10th TV series Dokidoki! PreCure in 2013-2014, this is the first time for Komagata (Shirayuki Mitsumine in Engaged to the Unidentified, Sayoko Takayama in The Idolm@ster Million Live!) to voice a character in the PreCure anime series.

Oricon, a data compiling company specializing in providing data for the Japanese music/book industry, today announced the best-selling book annual rankings of 2017, which were compiled between December 5, 2016 and November 27, 2017.

Once again, Eiichiro Oda's internationally popular series One Piece dominated the yearly manga sales ranking for 10 consecutive years since 2008 by selling 11.495 million copies in total, which was 818,794 less than last year. Meanwhile, the sales of Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan in the second place is slightly improved. It sold 6,622,781 copies this year, which was 78,700 more than 2016 when the manga ranked fourth. The best-selling light novel series was Reki Kawahara's Sword Art Online with 1,173,096 copies, its anime feature film Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale also became an international hit this year.

The official website for the upcoming 22nd Detective Conan feature film Zero no Shikkounin (Zero's Executioner) today released a 30-second teaser trailer introducing the key character of the story, Toru Amuro. The site also posted a "battle visual" featuring him and the protagonist Conan Edogawa with a tagline "Truth vs. Justice."

The story begins with a sudden explosion incident at Edge of Ocean, a facility for Tokyo Summit. After Kogoro Mori is arrested as a suspect for the case, Conan starts an investigation to prove his innocence, but Toru Amuro, who should stand in the side of justice, comes up against Conan. The 22nd film directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa (Death Parade, Mob Psycho 100) is set to be released in Japan on April 13, 2018.

Taiwanese puppet co-production Thunderbolt Fantasy returns in Sword of Life and Death, a Shā Wú Shēng, the Screaming Phoenix Killer (CV Nobuyuki Hiyama) focused story partially based on the Thunderbolt Fantasy Gaiden novel and partially a new story by Gen Urobochi. It opened this weekend for a two-week theatrical run, and to hype it, the artists at Nitro+, who also did character designs for the series, presented countdown pics. 

This included Shinov Mimori, Uiro Yamada, namaniku ATK (of Chaika fame), Tsuji Santa (of Super Sonico fame) and Satoru Minamoto (of Touken Ranbu fame)

Toei Animation today opened a special website for its PreCure action magical girl anime series' 15th anniversary project. The series started with Futari wa PreCure back in 2004, and its two main voice actresses, Yoko Honna (Nagisa Misumi/Cure Black) and Yukana (Honoka Yukishiro/Cure White), producer Takashi Washio, and series director Daisuke Nishio posted their comments for the anniversary. While not much information is available now, various plans for the upcoming year are scheduled to be announced via this site. Stay tuned!

It was confirmed yesterday that Fate/stay night [Heaven's Feel] THE MOVIE I. presage flower had earned over 1.35 billion yen (about 12 million US dollars) with the 900,000 ticket sales from its six-week domestic run. Thanks to the very successful box office result, 30 new theaters are set to be added from December 16, and a memorial portrait newly-drawn by director Tomonori Sudo will be also distributed to the theatergoers from the same day. The film is expected to surpass 2 billion yen by the end of its run.

The first chapter of the trilogy anime film adaptation based on the third route of Type-Moon's visual novel Fate/stay night featuring Sakura Matou, opened in 128 theaters across Japan on October 14. The Ufotable-animated film earned a massive 413,030,840 yen (about 3.68 million US dollars) on 247,509 admissions in its first weekend, becoming the top-grossing film of the week. The second chapter Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] II.lost butterfly is scheduled to be released in 2018.

Following the registration of its title in the end of September, Toei Animation today opened a teaser site for the next 15th PreCure TV series titled Hugtto! PreCure for a Spring 2018 premiere. It is set to be aired after the ongoing 14th series Kirakira PreCure a la Mode. The tagline is written as: "You can do anything! You can be anything! Embrace a shining future!"

If it follows its pattern, the girls from the 15th series are also expected to appear in the next crossover film PreCure Super Stars! to be released on March 17, 2018, alongside those from the two recent series.

franchise's commercial power has been increased again. According to Bandai Namco's financial report for

its toy/hobby section, the yearly merchandise sales of the 13th series Maho Girls PreCure! (2016-2017) was

11.1 percent up from Princess PreCure. Also as reported, "Eiga Kirakira PreCure a la Mode: Paritto! Omoide

no Mille-feuille" (Kirakira PreCure a la Mode The Movie: Paris and The Memorable Mille-feuille), the feature

film based on the ongoing series became the top-grossing film in its opening weekend of October 28-29, and 

is on the way to be one of the most successful films of the franchise. Let's hope more growing success for the

PreCure franchise in future.

Volume 39 of Rumiko Takahashi's 2009 Rin-ne was released in Japan last week, and that makes it comparable to the span of some of the legendary author's other long works (Urusei Yatsura was 34, Ranma 1/2 was 38 - Inu Yasha was a marathon 56). Mabinogi players can grab costume items to dress their characters up as Lily or Hayashi, and run Alby Dungeon with their friends for a chance to receive a pair of Meet-Cute Bracelets. When worn in the same region, both players get a special movement and damage effect.

Players can also pick up Lily's Winter Knight outfit, Hayashi's Vanguard outfit, and many others. You can preview the entire list here.

Additionally, you can pick up Moriko's desk, to watch your character play Mabinogi while you're playing Mabinogi. 

The boxes and the event are both available to players now, and will be in-game until December 13.

A Certain Magical Virtual-On is pretty much exactly what it sounds like, combining the worlds of light novel series A Certain Magical Index and mech-battling arcade game Cyber Troopers Virtual-On. What began as a crossover light novel is now coming to PS4 and PS Vita in Japan on February 15, 2018, and Sega is here to preview the opening movie.

Index anime studio J.C. Staff handled animation for the opening, which features voice actresses Yuka Iguchi (Index) and Rina Satō (Mikoto Misaka) on the theme song "Get Ready!"

As part of the on-going celebration of the 20th anniversary of ground-breaking TV anime Revolutionary Girl Utena, a new musical stage play based on the series will be performed in March of 2018. The play is entitled Shōjo Kakumei Utena ~Shiroki Bara no Tsubomi~ ("Revolutionary Girl Utena - Bud of the White Rose"), and it will run from March 08 - March 13, 2018.

The Revolutionary Girl Utena TV anime was originally broadcast in 1997. It features direction by Kunihiko Ikuhara and animation by J.C. Staff. The series is distributed in North America by Nozomi Entertainment under their Lucky Penny imprint, and the describe the story of Revolutionary Girl Utena as follows:

"Never lose that strength or nobility, even when you grow up." When Utena was just a child and in the depths of sorrow, she found salvation in those words. They were the words of a prince, who wrapped her in his rose-scented embrace and bestowed upon her both a ring and the promise that it would lead her to him again. She never forgot the encounter. In fact, she was so impressed that she aspired to be like the prince and also help those in need. Now a spirited teenager, Utena attends the prestigious Ohtori Academy. However, her strong sense of chivalry soon places her at odds with the school's student council and thrusts her into a series of mysterious and dangerous duels against its members. 

Based on the original work by Be-Papas, the new musical is written and directed by Koutarou Yoshitani and supervised by Kunihiko Ikuhara. The venue for the play has not yet been revealed.
