Toei Animation's long-running magical girl series PreCure started its history on February 1, 2004, when the first episode of Futari wa PreCure was aired in Japan. As part of its 15th anniversary, Japan Anniversary Association announces that February 1 is now officially recognized as "PreCure Day" in Japan. As reported, May 9 was previously determined as "Goku Day" for the protagonist of Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball manga series.
Meanwhile, Toei Animation posted a 30-second special PV "The two's courage was my dream" for the 15th anniversary featuring the first series' OP theme song "Danzen! Futari wa PreCure" sung by Mayumi Gojo.
Toei Animation is also now displaying special billboards of Cure Black and Cure White from Futari wa
PreCure in six JR stations in Tokyo (Shinjuku, Shibuya, Tokyo, Shinbashi, Ikebukuro, Akihabara) from
January 29 to February 4.
Yoko Honna, the voice of Nagisa Misumi/Cure Black, took photos of the billboards in the Ikebukuro and
Shnjuku stations, saying "During my work, I went to Ikebukuro and Shinjuku, because I couldn't sit still.
I stood there for a while with eyes full of tears."
As part of the anniversary, a special screening event of the franchise's first three films will be held at the
Shibuya Toei theater in Tokyo on March 4.

In addition, the 15th anniversary edition Card Commune, the two PreCure girls' transformation items in
the first series, is scheduled to be released in August 2018.
