Watch out, Hollywood, here comes "Kill 'em All" Tomino. Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino will be appearing in a January 21st press conference to announce a partnership with Legacy Effects.

Ookaze no Okorusama, representing several Japanese creators, will be working with Legacy Effects with the goal of bringing “movies based on Japanese manga and animation from Hollywood to the world."

During the press conference, Tomino will announce the partnership's first major project.

Legacy Effects, formerly known as Stan Winston Studios, has contributed practical effects to Avatar, Iron Man 2, Avengers and Pacific Rim.

Sony is getting ready to kick off a nice sale on PlayStation 3 and PS Vita games, and it'll be even sweeter if you happen to be a PlayStation Plus subscriber. True to its name, the 14 for '14 sale puts 14 PS3 and 14 Vita games on the price chopping block, with discounts up to 50 percent off, and up to 75 percent off for PS Plus members.

As previously reported, Gainax revealed the details of Daicon Film's 33rd anniversary project named "DAICON FILM 33" on January 8. The concept of the project is "revival of DAICON FILM" and it plans to release various goods inspired by their films in 1980s. The project's official site has started accepting pre-orders for the first lineup of the memorial goods including a towel and clear file featuring the girls from the famous Daicon Ⅲ & Ⅳ opening animations. The illustration is newly drawn by Takami Akai, the character designer of the opening animation films and one of the founders of Gainax. The illustration is now also displayed on the top page of Gainax's official site.

The project is also offering an iPhone case, tote bag, and mug cup featuring Daicon Ⅲ arts. They are collaboration goods with a culture select shop CINRA.STORE designed by MEMO, who is known for his single jacket illustrations for Japanese singer tofubeats (Siuisei EP, Don't stop the music).

We have made fun of Green Arrow's Boxing Glove Arrow for too long. Sure, it's easy to laugh at a man firing a boxing glove from his bow, but it's still an arrow meant to knock bad guys out instead of piercing their flesh, and that's genuinely useful. It's been a slow week for PVC news, but I am glad that Akiba Hobby posted this particular gallery. Alter had a few enticing items on display at MegaHobby Expo this past fall, including a new figure of Asuka sporting her Evangelion 3.33 look.

While the figure itself isn't extraordinary, I'm just glad to see a proper Evangelion 3.33 figure in the works. The majority of such offerings are either cheap (prize figures and Revoltechs) or way outside my budget (Medicom's RAH figures).

Thanks to the more in-depth gallery, we can get a closer look at Asuka's butt cleavage. Because really, that's the most important thing. You can also see that her hat is removable, and she seems to have an alternate pose for her left arm.

My favorite thing about this figure is her expression. Asuka figures tend to have a cheerful (or at least neutral) disposition. This one looks weary and a bit irritated, which is extremely appropriate given that Evangelion 3.33's storyline is entirely about Shinji's poor life choices. He has caused Asuka - and many others - a lot of trouble, and this figure reflects exactly that.

It's the first trailer for the Veronica Mars movie, and things are looking damn good. Of course there's a ten-year high school reunion, and of course bad boy Logan is involved in a murder scandal. And Veronica is kicking ass.

Consider this a handy public service announcement for all you RPG fans. The North American demo for Bravely Default is now in the 3DS eShop, so you can finally try it before it arrives next month. 

This isn't just any demo, though. As previously reported, the demo contains an exclusive side story with "hours of content not included in the main game." So go ahead and fire it up for a sample of what's to come on February 7.

UDON had a nice announcement for Fate fans just prior to the new year. The publisher is planning to localize a series of Fate/stay night art books, with the first set to arrive in North America this June.

The series kicks of with Fate/Complete Material Volume 1: Art Material, which packs over 200 pages of illustrations from Type-Moon's original Fate/stay night visual novel. The book features a full English translation accompanying cutscene illustrations, pin-ups, rare promotional advertising, and more. 

Subsequent books in the series will be released every three to four months, with sales of the first determining their fate. Enjoy some samples below.

Bandai has revealed the details of S.H. Figuarts Cure Heart, the first posable character figure from the on-going TV anime DokiDoki! PreCure. The company has so far produced three PreCure figures from the S.H. Figuarts line; Cure Peace, Cure Happy, and Cure Beauty of the 2012-2013 series Smile PreCure!. The set includes a 150mm-tall Cure Heart figure, her weapon Love Heart Arrow, and her fairy Sharuru. The suggested retail price for the set is 4,860 yen (about US$46.16) and the scheduled release day is in May 2014. The Japanese retailers will start accepting pre-orders for it next week on January 7.

DokiDoki! PreCure is the 10th installment of Toei Animation's long-running PreCure series and has become one of the most successful PreCure TV anime. The final (49th) episode will be aired in Japan on January 26.

 Here's a bit of a genre treat to kick off 2014. Character designer Nobuteru Yūki seems to be getting back into the habit of drawing Deedlit after working on material for the 25th anniversary of Lodoss War and Blu-ray release, and he's brought the high elf shaman back to welcome the year of the horse. 

Director/animator/character designer/mech designer Masami Obari has been busy on Gundam Build Fighters, but has taken the time to off his own take the new year.

ufotable, the studio who adapted prequel Fate/zero, will be revisiting the families and Grail War a generation later in Fate/stay night anime. Timed well to get the otaku flocking to Comiket 85, a site and promo video have been launched.

 Volume 9 of Type-Moon Ace, due in January, is teasing more information about the project. The prominence of Saber in the image is having fans speculating on an adaptation of the "Fate" route of the visual novel, rather than the previously assumed Heaven Feel.
