BOSTON (Reuters) - Attorneys for Bill Cosby plan to ask a federal court judge to dismiss a defamation lawsuit filed against the comedian in Massachusetts by three women who said he called them liars when they accused him of sexual assault.

Following the pressure to couple up for Valentine's Day is the conscious un-coupling soon after that a spike in divorce petitions reflects. February is the busiest month of the year for divorce filings, up about 18 percent from the average month. The same CNN article reports a 40 percent increase in those seeking information and advice about divorce in the period right after Valentine's Day.

Apparently, giving your sweetheart the four-foot Hunka Love Bear isn't enough to prevent a break-up.

So whether you are married or dating, how do you know if your relationship needs a tune-up or it may be time to get out?

There are many more considerations than these five questions. But don't overcomplicate things before you ask yourself the following.

1. Do I feel safe?

The health of a relationship can almost be determined by just this one question.

• Do you feel at a gut level that your partner has your back?
• Through their behavior, have they shown they are trustworthy and honest?
• Do you sense there are secrets underneath the surface, or do they have an open manner (what you see is what you get)?
• Have you been in the relationship long enough to know if this person will stand by your side when the road gets rocky?
• Will they love you if you gain a few pounds, go through a period of depression or become physically ill?

It is easy to be with someone -- almost anyone -- when times are good. The real test is how this person shows up when times are rough.

2. Do I smile more often than cry?

In every relationship couples argue from time to time, and we unintentionally hurt each other. But if you observe the time you share together as a whole, ask yourself:

• Is it characterized by synergy and joy, or fraught with anxiety and tension?
• Do you freely express yourself, secure in knowing that you can say the "wrong thing" and be given the benefit of the doubt, or do you tread on eggshells, afraid of an eruption if your words are misinterpreted?
• Is there any sign of criticism or contempt?

How much effort are you putting into making the relationship work? Yes, relationships take effort, but if you feel exhausted, it may be that the relationship is depleting you instead of nourishing you.

3. Do I give to my partner from a place of love or fear?

Why do you do what you do? Do you give from your own free will, from a place of love, or do you do things to avoid an expected negative reaction (from a place of fear)?

For example, your partner is sick and asks you to go to the grocery store. You want to help, and so you go. They would do the same for you. But what if your primary motivator is to avoid an expected angry reaction if you refuse? Have you witnessed this person sulking or giving you the cold shoulder when you don't do what they want?

Slow down and assess your motivators for deciding what to give to your partner. Giving is wonderful and it should be a two-way street. Giving in feels different.

4. Is my partner invested?

For a relationship to be successful, there has to be a vision for it. With a defined vision, there can be commitment by both people. Is your partner willing to show up each day and contribute to the success of the relationship, or does he or she just do the occasional grand gesture and leave the daily heavy lifting to you?

My former husband would dramatically proclaim: "I'd die for you." Ok, but before that option presents itself, what are you willing to do?

If you haven't been with your significant other that long, you may not be at this place, but it is useful to identify what this person is currently invested in. In other words, can you identify something he or she feels passionate about? In general, people who are committed to something other than themselves are more likely to be able to commit to you.

For example, is this person invested in the community or a cause? Are they enthusiastic about their career, or do they have an interest or a spiritual faith they are devoted to? Be wary of the person who doesn't seem passionate about anything. That could be the level of commitment they make to your future once the infatuation stage ends.

5. Does he or she play well with others?

What relationships are present in this person's life? (Facebook doesn't count.) What real relationships -- friendships, family, co-workers -- can you identify, or do they tend to isolate? What is their behavior within the context of these relationships?

How well your partner gets along with others is a reflection of their emotional intelligence. People who are relational exhibit empathy and understanding for other people's views. They don't want to dominate the sandbox; they want to share it. Moreover, they seek to make the experience as enjoyable as possible for everyone. They understand the value of compromise and give and take. When things aren't going well, instead of stomping out and taking their toys with them, they seek to understand another perspective and to positively influence the outcome. Generally, if someone has a healthy tribe with some longstanding friendships identified, they understand what it takes to make a relationship work.

If you answered "yes" to each question, you may have found yourself a good partner! If not, then allow yourself more time and come back to these questions when you have more information.

If you are married and answered with a couple of "nos" this is a good opportunity to start a conversation with your partner and perhaps a therapist.

2 Chainz revealed to XXL that he has future plans to run for mayor of his hometown, College Park, Ga. This news comes off the heels of his recent on-air argument with Nancy Grace on a hot-topic issue: weed.

Nearly two weeks ago, the two engaged in a verbal sparring match revolving around the legalization of marijuana. Despite Grace’s relentless smash-mouth approach, fans crowned Chainz as the victor in their debate. Even though 2 Chainz was given the win, he acknowledged that a second bout with Grace is doubtful.

“I moved on, man,” 2 Chainz told XXL. “I don’t know what’s going on up there. I know I’ve been getting a lot of praise and everything. I definitely appreciate the love that came behind me.”

After leaving Grace stumped, 2 Chainz’s confidence is at an all-time high. His supporters are calling for him to run for mayor of his hometown. And he’s seriously considering it.

“I’m a musician, not a politician,” he said. “I’m supposed to be running for mayor in College Park. I got everybody wishing. I’m really gonna do this little mayor thing in College Park. I’m just trying to make sure I have the right qualifications.”

If Chainz follows through, he’s got a strong resume. The rapper graduated from Alabama State University with a 4.0 GPA. But, as he hinted, everything has to fall into place before he walks into the world of politics.

Has French Montana reunited with Khloe Kardashian? The pair split reportedly last month after the reality star decided she needed break from their whirlwind romance, but during his appearance on “The Wendy Williams Show” Friday, Montana implied that the two might have reconciled.

After he took to Twitter last night (Oct. 29) to promise new music at midnight, singer and 2014 XXL Freshman August Alsina delivered on his promise by not only releasing a new song, but releasing an accompanying video for the song as well.

In “Grindin’” August doesn’t hold back his emotions. August speaks on all of the people who were hating on him throughout this tumultuous time in his life, most notably with his well-documented health issues, saying things such as ”a lot of these lames kept hatin’ on a nigga/when I took a little fall, you were steppin’ on a nigga,” but also shouts out all of his supporters by saying “everybody who was checkin for a nigga, and were hopin’ for a nigga/I appreciate your prayers, I respect you my nigga.” August also refers to his coma ordeal outright by saying “I just got out of a coma, it showed me that when God is for me, no weapon can hold me,” and also talks about the response he gave the doctor who told him that he was exhausted, saying that he “can’t stop” and that “he’s never gonna quit.”

The majority of the video finds August outside in the darkness, with brief cuts to barrels filled with flames. The darkness of the video serves as an appropriate setting for a song that is filled with the type of deep, heartfelt content August is taking on in the song.

Steve Harvey Starts New Dating Site For Women

As if the world needed another dating site, comic-turned-talk show host-turned dating expert-turned game show host Steve Harvey is stepping into the hookup game. Last week Harvey launched his new site, Delightful.com, which is an offshoot of the company that owns Match.com, OkCupid and Tinder.

But Delightful isn’t just any dating site. It’s a misogynist’s dream. In the world of dating, it takes two people to make a thing go right. Men and women need to meet each other at the figurative halfway point and be on the same page if they want to be successful in dating and eventually find “the one” (or two, depending on your lifestyle).

And here’s where Harvey drops the ball.

In an interview with Forbes, Harvey explains the rationale behind Delightful. “Women are wired differently,” he says.

Insert every “women are from Venus and men are from Mars” cliché.

“The one thing I know about women is, women don’t really want to just date,” he says. “They want to date with the hope that it leads to a relationship.

“A man doesn’t have any problem at all dating several or a wide variety of people until he finds the right one,” he continues. But women, as a rule, don’t want to do that, and the reason is scientific: “A lot of women have that biological clock that ticks in them.”

So Harvey once again is peddling his brand of dating advice to women, but he has seemingly forgotten about the men. How typical of the man who also wrote a book titled Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man. I’m sure somewhere in America, there are at least five single women who haven’t had sex in 90 days waiting for Mr. Right to ascend from the church pews to whisk them away into marital bliss.

Harvey went on to say that women are too picky when it comes to dating, so Delightful will help them broaden their horizons. “Your soul mate, the man of your dreams, may not live an hour away,” he stated. The site will also include advice columns for women on “how to become more datable,” according to Forbes.

When the hell did Steve Harvey become a viable source for relationship advice and dating services????

Viola Davis gets to do something in her new show, “How to Get Away With Murder,” that she hasn’t before, and that thing is: being sexy.

“All the roles I’ve ever gotten, they’ve been wonderful, but so many of them have been downtrodden. They’ve been women who’ve been pretty much asexual,” she said on “The View.”

“All of a sudden I was given this opportunity to play someone sexy, mysterious, complicated,” said Viola who was recently described as “less than classically beautiful” in a recent article.

“I think that beauty is subjective. I’ve heard that statement my entire life being a dark-skinned Black woman. You hear it from the time you come out of the womb and ‘not classically beautiful’ is a fancy term of saying ugly,” said Viola who rejects those opinions.

Now that the tour of Kandi Burruss’ play has been cancelled, does the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star have more time to raise a family?

The reality star is busy with her Kandi Koated line and her new husband and extended family. However, she said when it’s time for baby, she’ll make time for her new bundle of joy.

“I have all this stuff going on. Once things happen and I’m blessed with the situation, I’ll figure it out. Don’t we all?” she said on the “Russ Parr Morning Show.”

Kandi, who isn’t pregnant yet, said the couple is working on it “diligently.”

“As far as I know, we haven’t had any luck. I’ve been seeing people tweeting…but I haven’t confirmed that,” she said.
As for A Mother’s Love, she apologized to her fans for the tour’s sudden cancellation.

“Everyone was so disappointed and upset. We got so many great reviews in that first week. The cast was disappointed; all our fans were disappointed,” said Kandi who explained that the show’s promoter just couldn’t get the job done.

“Normally, Todd and I like to control everything…in this situation, we handed it over to a promoter. It’s like you’re giving
your baby to somebody, and you realize they didn’t do right,” she said. “Basically, he just wasn’t equipped to handle the tour.”

Kandi wants to grow her family with hubby Todd so we expect a new addition by next season of RHOA!
