Rah Digga Calls Iggy Azalea Fake, Beats Music Still Alive, Kanye West’s Wheelchair Love?

by Cyrus Langhorne

Working Wednesday. It’s a day filled with working, so why not put in work by starting it off with Rah Digga saying Iggy Azalea isn’t real to her? Speaking of realness, is the Beats Music dying reports real? Apparently not according to the latest update. With updates on your mind, it seems Kanye West has experienced a change of heart about people in wheelchairs? All this coming up in SOHH Whatcha Think.

1. Can You Digga It?

Is Rah Digga starting up a new beef? Should we expect to see a war of words starting courtesy of Rah Digga dissing Iggy Azalea? This Is 50 is all over it:

“Iggy Azalea, I can’t really get into her. Because it’s just not real to m. There is a white girl from Australia that spits in an Australian accent, and her name is Chelsea Jane. That I can get into. Teach me Australian Hip Hop culture. Don’t come to America and try to convince me  that you’re Gangsta Boo… We’re not going to believe you if you’re trying to convince us that you’re out here trap shooting.” (This Is 50)

Ouch! Digga digs more into her issues with Azalea but you have to wonder if this is all legit and warranted or if she is trying to start a buzz with a little feud? #SOHHWhatchaThink?

Beyonce and Jay Z Renew Vows [Photos]

by Alvin Aqua Blanco

Remember when the New York Post was swearing up and down that Jay Z and Beyonce were heading for divorce? However, a new report says the happy-looking couple recently renewed their vows.

Rumors of trouble in paradise ramped up thanks to the now infamous elevator fight. But now it’s looking like it was pure speculation.

Reports the Daily Mail:

Beyonce and Jay Z have since ridden a wave of speculation that their six-year union was on the rocks, including claims they slept in separate rooms while on their joint On The Run tour.

However, the couple are said to have made a dramatic ‘U-turn’ after reaffirming their love for each other in an special commitment ceremony during a family holiday to Corsica for Beyonce’s 33rd birthday earlier this month.

According to Grazia, Beyonce decided the milestone was the perfect point to put all the negativity behind them and move forward as a couple.

A source tells the magazine: ‘They were joined on a private beach by Beyoncé’s mum Tina, their daughter Blue Ivy and a small group of close friends and recited a new set of vows during a short but very romantic ceremony, which doubled up as a birthday celebration.

In semi-related news, the Carters are reportedly working on a joint album, which probably went triple platinum the moment they seriously considered it.

Check out photos Beyonce share of the aforementioned birthday and vacation trip below and in the following pages.

Bird Beef Gone Wrong: Waka Flocka Investigated By Police After Wifey Tammy Rivera Posts Thug Lovin’ Gun Photo!

by deolacola

Is Waka going to jail for keeping it too real??

Waka Flocka In Trouble For Posting Picture Of Gun

LHHATL’s Joseline Hernandez attacked Tammy Rivera and ripped off her weave ponytail at the reunion, Waka Flocka’s wife later addressed the altercation on Twitter.

The reality star posted a picture of her and her rapper-hubby Waka Flocka firing literal shots at her Love & Hip Hip haters. Well, it looks like Waka might be in some serious trouble for that photo…

Via Music Times reports:

Stevie J’s beef began with Benzino but Joseline took the opportunity to also target Tammy Rivera, the wife of rapper Waka Flocka Flame. I think we all knew that the real battle was just beginning after security restrained Joseline and Tammy made peace with the fact that her pony tail had been ripped off of her head. The taping may have wrapped up weeks ago but the hostility continues. At the time of the reunion Waka was on tour but apparently didn’t appreciate his new wife being violently targeted and just yesterday Tammy posted a photo letting everyone know that her man is back home.

The problem—and it’s a really big problem—is that in the candid shot Waka is seen holding a gun. Having any kind of weapons in his possession is in direct violation of Waka’s current probation terms. After the photo went viral yesterday it didn’t take long before someone tipped off the Feds and we’re hearing that they have already been in touch with the rappers attorney. Clearly this started off as a grudge match between Rivera and Hernandez but now it looks like the real loser could easily be Waka Flocka Flame. A probation violation could be a slam dunk because there is solid proof that Waka had a weapon in his possession.

Yikes! It’s pretty clear that Waka has violated his probation by possessing the gun so the picture might actually land him back in jail. Do you think Tammy is to blame for posting it?? When keeping it real goes wrong!

Exclusive: Big Sean Talks New Album, Influences In Fashion & Students Who Want To Rap

by Marjua Estevez

Big Sean recently put on a private show at Brooklyn’s The 1896, courtesy of Coors Light and Complex. Before he could take the stage alongside NOLA rapper Curren$y, Sean Don spoke with Hip-Hop Wired about his current musical undertakings, being a BAPE fan and more.

On new music:

I’m almost done with the new album. The concept alone is great, it’s intense. I can’t speak on it too much, but it’s definitely dope.

On biggest influences in fashion:

My older brother. He was like a dope boy and just had so much style. I wanted to be like him, he was the one who put me on. These glasses right here, people used to get killed over these. I’m not glorifying that either, but I know about these because of my brother.

Besides him, I’d say Pharrell. And of course Kanye. But when Kanye took me under his wing, Pharrell was someone who opened up early on and showed me the ropes, took me to Japan –– him, Kanye, Migos, everybody. I’m still a BAPE head though [laughs].

On students from his community who want to be rappers:

I don’t think students should focus on rapping at all. I think they should focus on school. They should feed their passions, yes, but I think you learn so much from school and not just about math and science. You learn how to interact.

When I was speaking to the kids yesterday I asked “why would you want to be on the streets, when you can be in school with your friends and the girl or guy that you have a crush on?” When I was younger I didn’t want to go to school, but when I got older I felt stupid for thinking that way. It’s way better to just be with your homies in a learning environment –– kicking it, plotting, scheming together. As a group. Coming up with something major. School teaches how to interact and be disciplined. Focus on passion early on, but simultaneously.

The Revolution May Not Always Be Televised, But It Damn Sure Will Be #Tweeted

by Nida Khan of the Huffington Post

This story originally appeared on The Huffington Post, click here for more.

When we hear the word revolution, one usually tends to think of images of rioting, unrest and utter chaos. But a revolution can also mean a break from traditional thinking; a revamp of the way we view things, accept stated norms and conduct ourselves. At this very moment, there is a national and global revolution taking place concerning a host of issues: how we gather news and information, the way we disseminate that information, rights of civilians, police (mis)conduct, freedom to assemble, the right of self-expression, the Israel-Gaza conflict, militarization of police, war and much more. And what is one main underlying thread among all of these shifts in public opinion? Young people.

Like almost all other movements and changes in history, the youth are the ones primarily pushing for reform and holding people accountable. They are connecting with one another in unprecedented ways, raising awareness, driving the conversation and making social change happen via social media. In other words, the revolution may not always be televised, but it damn sure will be tweeted.

On August 9, Twitter began buzzing with word that an unarmed Black teenager had been shot and killed by police in the town of Ferguson, Missouri. Some had witnessed the horror; others had filmed it or taken pictures of it. Soon enough, these images and first-hand accounts were being posted and shared online. While so-called 24/7 news networks were pretty much checked out for the weekend, places like Twitter literally broke news as information from Ferguson began pouring in, and then was RT, RT — and RT some more.

By Sunday, grassroots activism and citizen journalism from people like Antonio French, not only had people paying attention to developments on the ground, but they galvanized many to call out traditional media for their failure to cover the story. Slowly, some journalists and producers began tuning in because the advocacy was so brilliantly executed online. Many of the top trending hashtags on Twitter began to reflect the situation in Ferguson or were related to it in some form. And then, something truly remarkable happened: a massive social media campaign by mostly young people of color called out the press for its failure to properly depict them on a regular basis.

The hashtag #Iftheygunnedmedown took off like a firestorm and quickly became a top worldwide trend. Not a national trending topic, but a worldwide one. In essence, people would take a picture doing things like graduating college or serving in the army, or other ‘positive’ things, then juxtapose them with pictures where they were dressed in a street or thuggish manner, or doing ‘bad’ things. They would then pose questions like: #Iftheygunnedmedown which picture do you think the media would use?

Too often, many mainstream outlets act as innocent bystanders when covering a major event like the situation in Ferguson; as if they have no role to play in how societal norms and preconceived notions develop. But when major media consistently depict minority groups in a negative fashion, or don’t provide enough balance in terms of images, shouldn’t they then be called out as the smart folks behind #Iftheygunnedmedown did? When the primary portrayal of young Black men, for instance, is that of some sort of a criminal to be feared, are we really shocked to learn that they are profiled more, targeted more and arrested more by police? What’s worse, consistent negative messaging can even subliminally influence the mind of someone who would never utter a racist remark but can still subconsciously behave in a way that has dangerous or deadly consequences.

Now, for much of this summer, our collective attention was also centered on another part of the world — the Middle East, specifically the situation in Gaza. This wasn’t the first time that the Israeli military killed innocent Palestinian civilians during the process, and this wasn’t the first time that the United Nations and most of the globe condemned Israel’s harsh actions. There were no shortages of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s TV appearances on our cable shows, just like there was no shortage of various spokespeople from his administration and the military inundating our airwaves and our print outlets. Punditfact even did a study on this very topic, indicating that on a network like CNN for example, appearances by Israeli officials outnumbered Palestinian officials by more than four-to-one during the first two weeks of the crisis. So why is it that this time, during the summer of 2014, did so many young Americans blame Israel more than Hamas for the conflict?

For decades, the narrative of the Gaza-Israel crisis at home has been extremely controlled and one-sided. Before the advent of things like Twitter, viewers were subjected to a litany of appearances from the Israeli government without a way to call out the unbalanced coverage. Thanks to social media, Americans — especially young Americans — saw images of dead children, mothers and other civilians directly from reporters and human rights workers on the ground. Creating hashtags like #GazaUnderAttack, people in Gaza and around the world were able to share pictures, videos, reports and information with one another while pretty much bypassing traditional media. It’s no wonder that a Pew Research Center poll in July found that among 18-29-year-olds, 29 percent blamed Israel for the conflict, while only 21 percent blamed Hamas. More young Americans blamed Israel — let that marinate for a minute.

Whether it’s Ferguson, Gaza, or anywhere for that matter, information is emerging and spreading like never before. No longer can corporately controlled media put out skewed narratives and push agendas (which they sometimes do, i.e. the Iraq war in 2003) without being called out. Social media and places like Twitter not only allow details to reach the masses instantaneously, but they also allow the masses to hold traditional news, journalists, networks and producers accountable.

Some may argue that Twitter, Vine, Instagram and others are filled with too much noise and everyone somehow thinks that he or she is a journalist. While citizen journalism can’t replace the work of researching, fact-checking and interviewing that trained journalists do, it can highlight under-reported stories and ideas that today’s journalists too often glance over. And the interconnectivity and exchange of ideas online has created a beautiful platform for intellectual debate that a truly democratic society should welcome.

To be clear, I am in no way endorsing violence anywhere when I say the word revolution. But challenging the status quo through engagement, participation and active expression of thought is the kind of revolution I’m talking about.

As I write this piece, the protests in Ferguson continue. The people of that neighborhood, especially the youth, have long felt ignored, silenced, oppressed and disconnected. The majority of the young people there just wanted their voices heard — and now the entire nation is listening. They are still driving the conversation, and have a tremendous opportunity to push for real change. As journalists are often restricted in their movements, they are the ones sharing pictures, livestreams and reports from the ground. Many of these may never be televised on cable news, but rest assured that they will be #tweeted.

Nicki Minaj’s Dancer Bitten By Snake During MTV VMAs Rehearsal

by Bitchie Staff

Nicki Minaj Anaconda vide
Britney Spears

The last time we saw an artist take to the MTV Video Music Awards stage with a snake, it was Britney Spears’ 2001 “I’m A Slave 4 U” performance, but it looks as though Nicki Minaj will also have a few slithery creatures joining her this weekend as well.

And it makes sense since her new single is titled, “Anaconda.”

But having reptiles on stage doesn’t always come without drama!

Yesterday, while the Head Barb was rehearsing for this weekend’s MTV VMAs, one of her dancers was reportedly bitten by a snake.

The six-foot boa constrictor was allegedly draped over the dancer’s shoulders when it bit her on the inside of her arm.

According to its handlers, it was the first time in the snake’s 15-year careerdoing shows that this has happened.

Luckily for the dancer, boa constrictors are non-venomous and her injuries aren’t life threatening. Still, she was treated for the bite and taken to the hospital just to be on the safe side.

MTV reports that the show will go on with the use of another boa or a python.

With Nicki’s rumored performance of “Anaconda” and Beyoncé performing a 15-minute medley of her visual album, it seems as though we will have a lot to talk about on Monday.

Will you be watching the MTV VMAs tomorrow night?

by Rap-Up

Lauryn Hill

In response to the events in Ferguson, Ms. Lauryn Hill has released her spoken-word diatribe “Black Rage,” which she debuted on stage during her “Life Is Good/Black Rage” joint tour with Nas in 2012.

“An old sketch of Black Rage, done in my living room. Strange, the course of things. Peace for MO,” said Ms. Hill.

She interpolates the classic Christmas tune “My Favorite Things” into a sketch about suffering and hatred.

“When the dogs bite, when the beatings, when I’m feeling sad / I simply remember all these kinds of things / And then I don’t fear so bad,” she sings.

Listen to her poignant song and read the full lyrics below.

Twitter Drags KimYe For Leaving “IgNori” The “Norphan” With Nannies While They Jet Set Around The World

by thatsmybiz1

Nori KimYe

Are KimYe out of pocket… or just doing their jobs?

Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Roasted On Twitter For Leaving Daughter Alone

We knew there would be fall out once this got out.

According to RadarOnline reports:

With stops in Cannes, Florence, New York, and Miami in just the past few days, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have been living the jet set lifestyle in the weeks since their wedding. But as their daughter, North West, stays home with nannies, RadarOnline.com has learned that fans are slamming the new parents online for taking time away from their daughter — even going so far as to call the one-year-old “Ignori” and “Norphan!”

On Tuesday, West made an appearance at the Cannes Lions festival while Kardashian was in New York with their daughter. The next day, she flew into Nice Airport from New York, just hours after her husband West left town for Florence, Italy. West continued on to Miami from there, while Kardashian flew back to L.A., and meanwhile, baby North made the transcontinental flight from NYC to L.A. with a coterie of nannies, assistants, and security guards.

And on Twitter, fans were quick to criticize the parents’ decision to leave their kid in the care of their employees and family members.

In response to a Kardashian tweet about Cannes, one Twitter user wrote, “Where’s you’re f*cking prop . . err I mean kid? #IgNori #Norphan #WorstMotherEver #BesidesKrisIMean”

“I feel bad for North #ignori,” @sardshy wrote. “Baby is not a photo-op. Must b nice 2 pay sitters to watch child except for when it’s convenient.”

“How come Kim is never with her daughter #ignori,” @Queen_of_typos wrote.

Kardashian told reporters this week that she and West would reunite with their daughter in L.A. For a first birthday party this weekend.

But it’s not the first time she’s faced claims of parental neglect.

In December, Kardashian took to Twitter to blast her critics, writing, “Bc I don’t tweet or instagram my every move w my daughter means I am not with her 247? We share what we want.”

“Or is it bc I go support my fiancé at every show & I post pix?” she continued. “When the baby goes down 4 bed or a nap, parents are allowed 2 work & support each other and maybe even have fun too.”

Do you think Kim and Kanye are neglectful parents or just wealthy career-focused people with a lot of hired help to take care of their responsibilities?
