The Easy Way to Know the Height of the Cliff You're Jumping Off
So you fancy yourself a pretty good cliff-jumper . You always personally inspect your landing spot for hazards and the necessary depth. Good. But here's the thing, how do you know how much depth you need unless you know exactly how high you're jumping from? With NASA smarts, that's how.

Even if you aren't into League of Legends, watch this cinematic
I don't play League of Legends and I'm not sure that I ever will, but this "A New Dawn" cinematic is pretty damn cool, regardless. You don't need to know the game or its characters to enjoy it.
Graves' eyebrow raise at around 3:19? Perfect.

Magician can guess the card you're thinking about through this video
Our eyes are too slow and our brains are too easily fooled. Just watch this video where Illusionist Eric Leclerc shows off by reading our minds through a simple YouTube video. He plays around with us in the beginning but at the end, he just jumped through the computer screen to peer into our wrinkled brain.

Sensual images of dreamy women are actually incredible oil paintings
Few artists in the world have the perfect command of lighting, color, and oil media technique of Yigal Ozeri. His always sensual and sometimes disturbing hyperrealistic art—which usually focuses on women in dreamy and contemplative states—is simply stunning. Warning: Some paintings are NSFW (nipples shown).
10 tricks that famous movie directors use as their trademark
With some directors, you can immediately tell you're watching a movie they directed just by looking at a still frame without any context. There's a visual style they stamp on their films, a certain special effect they like, a narrative preference they utilize, basically, a trademark they have. WatchMojo came up with a list of the 10 most famous movie director trademarks in the video below.
You Can't Fly GTA V Jets Like This Guy Can
Super Mario World's too good to not watch three people play simultaneously
This video may be just more than 50 minutes long, but I managed to have quite a few nostalgic flashbacks to my youth in that short time. I played the hell out of it as a kid. And that was very correct of me, because after all, Super Mario World is the best platformer in the Mario series.
Watching three speedrunners at Summer Games Done Quick 2014 play it at the same time is a treat. If nothing else, you get three times the Super Mario World action. If you're taking a gander at the video, you may want to skip ahead to about 16:20, which is where they actually start.
Six Insane Zelda Speedruns
Fallout 3 Beaten In Under 24 Minutes, A New World Record
Watch as speedrunner BubblesDelFuego jets across the capital wasteland, all in the name of speed. Bubbles manages to beat the game in an astounding 23:55, beating the previous record of 24:20.
All The Info There is About The Original Doom In One Video
The good people at Did You Know Gaming have put together a new video all about the original Doom, that contains literally (not actually literally) 100 percent of everything there is to know about the classic shooter. Now's a good time for this, especially if you're going to QuakeCon next month and want to impress everyone there with all sorts of cool knowledge about the franchise's history after Doom 4 is (probably, maybe, hopefully?) officially revealed there. So enjoy this, while you have a break from absurd World Cup drama for the moment.
UFC Glitches, Narrated
Glitches in the newest UFC game are fun. But glitches in the newest UFC game accompanied by people pretending to be real MMA commentators? Those are hilarious.

Watching this video can send intense pleasure waves down your spine
Do you experience autonomous sensory meridian response? If the answer is "yes" or "don't know," put on your headphones, make this video big, and watch it. If you do, the sound and the action will send intense waves of pleasure up and down your spine.
OK Go Proves Again That Eye-Popping Optical Illusions Don't Need CGI
Ignore the grumblings of some sourpuss Gizmodo staffers: OK Go's new video for "The Writing's On the Wall" is just straight-up fun for your ears and your eyes, thanks to a plethora of optical illusions rendered in the real world, rather than on a computer.
Two-Factor Authentiction Is Ruining My Life and It's All My Fault
This should have been the official Mario Kart 8 trailer
Just recently we showed you the death glare of Luigi -- the piercing eyes of someone you do not want to mess with if you value your life (and possibly your soul). But thanks to YouTube user KagatoTheFinalBoss, we now have a definitive compilation of all of Luigi's evil-eyed moments. Just look at the way he throws red shells like a pimp. Dude even glares while he's powersliding.
I'll never look at Luigi the same way again. Maybe we should have extended his year a bit further.
FCC Comment Page Buckles To Its Knees After John Oliver Asks Everyone To Comment
We’ve been experiencing technical difficulties with our comment system due to heavy traffic. We’re working to resolve these issues quickly.

We’re still experiencing technical difficulties with our comment system. Thanks for your patience as we work to resolve the issues.
— The FCC (@FCC) June 2, 2014
Some of us quickly speculated that the two things were related, while some publications have simply assumed without question that it was Oliver's pleas that brought the system down. To some extent I hope that's the case, though I do fear a bit the kinds of comments people might be leaving. Either way, the irony of the FCC having trouble under heavy loads concerning net neutrality was not lost on many people, who didn't miss the opportunity to tweet some replies mocking the whole net neutrality proposal.
.@FCC can I haz priority access?
— Falk Steiner (@flueke) June 2, 2014
@FCC Don't worry. If you pay $8M more to Comcast you might get a better connection. They might even throw in a $4M/m server lease agreement.
— Richard Risner (@Kowder) June 2, 2014
@FCC Maybe because you servers are running on the "slow lane" internet? Since when do you read comments that dont include cash bribes?
— Mark Rodgers ツ (@KC8GRQ) June 2, 2014
.@FCC You didn't save the "fast lane" for yourself? How sweet. https://t.co/BCSSbwhV1H #NetNeutrality

Your Ears Can Be Fooled With Illusions As Easily As Your Eyes
We've all been left scratching our heads wondering how our brains could have been tricked by an optical illusion we looked at. But it turns out your sense of hearing is just as susceptible to being fooled.
BattleCry's reveal trailer chops off a perfectly good head
Have you heard about Bethesda's newly announced BattleCry -- a free-to-play, PC-only, 32-player, team action combat game? That question's a test, because I wrote a preview about it, and we all know that you should be reading everything that's posted here.
On the off-chance that you're slacking in your commitment to Destructoid, here's a video to sort of get you up to speed. It doesn't really feature any gameplay, but there's some ample bloodshed and an unfortunately misplaced head. That's supposed to stay on your neck, silly!

Interstellar may be the first movie that shows realistic warp travel
At last we got to see the full trailer for Chris Nolan's Insterstellar. The drama seems centered around a worldwide food crisis fired by climate change and resource depletion—a quite probable future. The space travel part seems equally plausible, showing what may be the first realistic depiction of a real warp drive.
What Other Companies Could Apple Buy With Its $150 Billion In Cash?
At the end of its last financial quarter, Apple had $151 billion in cash just sitting there collecting dust. Is it any wonder it's going after profitable companies like Beats? What's $3.2 billion ? Here's a humorous look at just how many companies Apple could buy with its stack-o-cash—and just how easily a corporate shopping spree could go wrong.

This animated short about a lazy guy in outer space is pretty hilarious
I enjoyed this animated short called Johnny Express and written, directed and animated by Kyungmin Woo very, very much. Give it a watch. It's about a lazy delivery man of the universe in the year 2150 who stumbles upon an alien world that he doesn't quite understand. It's cute and hilarious and oodles of fun. I don't want to spoil any more, just enjoy yourself.

Watching women trying to sing while having an orgasm is fun
These ladies are ADAM, a Dutch electronic dance music band who had a great idea for their latest video: To sing their single Go to Go while using a vibrator, trying to keep a straight face, the pleasure building up until they reached climax. Brilliant concept, perfect execution.
