Nintendo Fans Need A New Series To Complain About

by Luke Plunkett
Dsider

How about don't? I really don't want to push our luck.

Nintendo fans have spent years frustrated that the Metroid series, once a pillar of the company’s console lineup, had been left to rot. Now that not one but two new Metroid games are coming, it leaves them/us with an important decision to make: what to complain about next.

Ashly Burch 'Heartbroken' She Won't Play Chloe In Life Is Strange Prequel

by Cecilia D'Anastasio
Dsider

Guess I'm not playing this game. Unfortunate that she takes over the role of a character who had a definitive voice in one game, and then has the same happen to her in this game. This is a shitty vicious cycle.

As the longest strike in Screen Actors Guild history chugs on, video game voice actors are making painful career sacrifices to show solidarity with their union. 234 days into the strike, after Microsoft announced Life Is Strange: Before The Storm, fans immediately sussed out that award-winning voice actress and…

"Violet Evergarden" TV Anime Premieres at Anime Expo 2017

by news+feed@crunchyroll.com
Dsider

I mean, it'll be pretty at least. I'll see whether it does something interesting with that premise.

A wealth of new information has been revealed for Violet Evergarden, an upcoming TV anime based on the light novels written by Kana Akatsuki and illustrated by Akiko Takase about a group of Auto Memory Doll robots created to serve the needs of their human masters.

The main staff for Violet Evergarden includes:

  • Director: Taichi Ishidate
  • Series composition: Reiko Yoshida
  • Character design: Akiko Takase
  • Sound director: Yota Tsuruoka
  • Opening theme: TRUE
  • Animation production: Kyoto Animation

Additionally, Yui Ishikawa will provide the voice of the titular character, the Auto Memory Doll named Violet Evergarden. An official website and Twitter feed (@Violet_Letter) for the Violet Evergarden TV anime have also been published.

The original Violet Evergarden novels are published by Kyoto Animation under their KA Esuma Bunko imprint. The story involves a world where a scientist creates a series of robots (known as "Auto Memory Dolls") to assist his wife, an author, in writing her novels after she loses her sight. Later, the Auto Memory Dolls are repurposed as weapons of war.

The 1st episode of the Violet Evergarden TV anime will premiere at Anime Expo 2017 in Los Angeles on July 02, 2017. The European premier will be screened at the AnimagiC 2017 convention in Mannheim, Germany, while the Asian premier will be screened at the CF3 AFA SINGAPORE 2017 convention in Singapore. Violet Evergarden begins its Japanese broadcast in January of 2018.

Top Video Game Companies Won't Stop Talking About 'Games As A Service'

by Jason Schreier

There was once a time when video game developers would make a game, release it, and then move onto the next big thing. That time has long since passed. These days, you’re more likely to see a new Metroid than you are to buy an AAA game that’s never updated, patched, or enhanced in some way. Today’s big video games…
