Just when you think Microsoft could do no worse in Japan, the console proves that, yes, it can do even worse. Much worse.
DsiderHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Just when you think Microsoft could do no worse in Japan, the console proves that, yes, it can do even worse. Much worse.

Adam Boyes, head of third-party developer relations at PlayStation, told me at E3 that he’s known about Square’s Final Fantasy VII remake for a year. It was a fun secret to keep.

Sony decided to close out its E3 press conference this year with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. After a brief cutscene played, Nathan Drake was supposed to start moving through a crowd...but he just stood still...for a long time. That’s when co-director Bruce Straley started panicking.
DsiderI'm gonna need at least two of you to commit, or I'm not bothering. Don't feel like playing this single-player.

You can play the newest Zelda game alongside two other people. You can play it by yourself. But you can’t, according to director Hiromasa Shikata, play Zelda: Triforce Heroes with a party of two.
DsiderMan what
Also I like that one of the make-up assistants is a Braixen

In Japan, an hour Pokémon special just aired on TV. It starred Pikachu. Lots of Pikachus. But mostly, even by Pokémon standards, it was bonkers.

The new Animal Crossing is letting you choose your skin tone. People have been asking for the option for years, and Nintendo’s granting their wish with Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer . It’s a step in the right direction, albeit a long overdue one. Hopefully it’ll carry over to the next full Animal Crossing game.

In her delightfully titled “Scooby Doo, When Are You?” series, artist Julia Wytrazek has perfectly imagined what Velma, Daphne, Shaggy, and Fred would have worn from 1910 through to the ’90s. I might be biased, but I like Velma’s looks the best.
DsiderThis game series really gets no love compared to the other Nintendo IPs. I still have no idea if we'll ever get the 3DS version.

The normal levels in the Rhythm Heaven series are good, but it’s the Remix Stages that make the games great.
DsiderObligatory "Where does he get all those wonderful toys?"

This is the Batman collection of Somchai Nitimongkolchai. It’s the largest in Thailand, and Nitimongkolchai thinks it might be the biggest in the world.
DsiderYeah so no need to watch any of this version. I just have to find that 5th Arise story and then worry about the movie.

Over the course of 2013 and 2014, four hour-long Ghost in the Shell: Arise episodes were released in theaters. This past anime season, these were broken up into eight episodes—along with an extra two new episodes that continue the story—in Ghost in the Shell: Arise: Alternative Architecture. The result is a mess.
Dsideruh

The rice planting season has wrapped up in Japan. Imperial Stormtroopers ensured everything went as planned.
DsiderShe definitely has the minority opinion here, but this is a lot of useful information about the game.

I am so excited about Genei Ibun Roku, the upcoming Wii U JRPG that mashes together Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem. Everything Nintendo has shown off for it so far has been EXCELLENT.
DsiderThis is... surprisingly grim :(

Back in 1999, Sony released a robotic dog called Aibo, a canine companion that didn’t crap everywhere and only ate electricity. It sold pretty well — 150,000 units, despite the $2,000 price tag. Some owners became remarkably attached, which makes it even more sad that Sony has stopped repairing Aibo. Slowly but surely, they’re all dying.
DsiderYou knew this was coming

The announcement trailer of Final Fantasy VII’s remake showed a slightly darker and more realistic world compared to the 1997 game. And with an aesthetic like that it’s almost impossible to imagine how some of the crazier parts of the original game would look.

E3 2015’s top head-scratcher so far: Why would Nintendo bring back their dormant Metroid franchise, a series known for fairly quiet, careful solo sci-fi exploration, with a multiplayer shooter that’s also a sports game? Good thing I had a half hour with the game’s producer to find out.

Shenmue III? Check. Final Fantasy VII remake? Check. The Last Guardian? Check. Beyond Good & Evil 2? Well, it’s complicated, but it’s not sounding good.

Rhythm Heaven the Best + is full of cute Nintendo musical mini-games—and one surprisingly depressing one.
DsiderObligatory sharing

Sony closed its E3 presser tonight with some familiar faces: Nathan Drake and Sully in Uncharted 4. And boy, does the game look gorgeous.

Bombshell: The Last Guardian is still alive, and it’s coming out on the PS4 in 2016. The practically mythical game was shown off today during Sony’s E3 press conference. It’s a damn miracle.

Eighteen years and three PlayStations later, Final Fantasy VII is getting a remake. A real one. For PlayStation 4, with other platforms to follow.

We just got a look at Cuphead, a side-scrolling platformer from Studio MDHR. It looks like an old-school Disney cartoon, and I would like to play it. It’s coming to Xbox One and PC in 2016.
DsiderThis was bigger news to me than their holodeck implementation thing.

As part of a Minecraft presentation at today’s Xbox event, Mojang brand director Lydia Winters revealed the biggest megaton of all: Mo-jang is pronounced Mo-yang. My world has changed.

man, that is some syd mead shit right there
DsiderYou know, it's because the players can do all this that the game is guaranteed to never die

Give someone the ability to create anything they want, and there’s a 99% chance that person will make a dick.

The biggest fighting game of the year is around the corner, and things are already heating up as top players put “bounties” on other people’s heads. Or in this case, their own head.
Dsider:|

This is an image of Ganba no Bouken or The Adventures of Ganba. The anime debuted in the mid-1970s. Now, they’re making a CG version, and damn, it looks tragic.
DsiderI think this is the only way I can enjoy these games now

This little guy might only be two years old, but damn, Rage Against The Machine speaks to him.
