HAH! The first comment:

"Using the eraser tool you could rub Mario’s face until your heart was content. Nintendo realized they forgot to localize that out."

Nintendo has taken down Super Mario Maker for “emergency maintenance” from now until January 28 at 8:00 pm ET. The company says it’s due to an unspecified bug that happens in the creation tool. Any ideas on what bug it is?

Linkle Is More Than The 'Girl Version' Of Link

by Brian Ashcraft
Dsider

Oh wow, she seems more like the Demon Hunter class in Diablo 3 actually. Unfortunately she's still got the dumbest name.

When we first saw the concept art and game footage, we really didn’t have much to go on. Now, with Linkle’s debut appearance in the recently released Hyrule Warriors Legends, we do—she’s far more than just “girl Link.”

The Other Ways Nintendo Is Changing The English Version of Fire Emblem Fates

by Nathan Grayson
Dsider

I was waiting for confirmation that they'd be removing that feature that was, while obviously very silly and pointless, not something that ANYONE who played the game with it intact would have campaigned against in the first place.

All that matters to me at this point is that there will be dual language options. That's it. You want to campaign for this perceived vocal majority of prudes in this country? Fine, whatever helps you sleep at night; I don't like it but I can live with it. But if you're going to campaign for the asshole talent and licensing agencies in Japan too? That's inexcusable horseshit, and your dubs aren't even close to an acceptable level for this series. I don't want to ever hear someone "fighting for their friends" again.

Despite being another sequel in a longtime Nintendo series, Fire Emblem Fates is... quirky. Its Japanese version sparked quite a bit of controversy among English-speaking fans when it launched last year. Nintendo is making some fairly significant changes.

Super Bowl Commercial Shows Pokémon Would Look Amazing In Real Life

by Patricia Hernandez
Dsider

Colossal waste of money if you're gonna make them look like something rendered back in the N64 ad days in the end.

Up until the very end of this commercial, the entire thing comes across as a Nike ad—not something about Pokémon. That’s just how fierce it is.

Fire Emblem Fates Will Have “Controversial Dialogue” Removed In The West

by Sato

Even in context, it was a poorly written support for what it was attempting to convey. I'm curious to see how they changed it.

There will be "no expression which might be considered as gay conversion or drugging" in the localized version, Nintendo said in a statement.
