Planning your marriage proposal is an exciting, once in a lifetime experience. Everyone pictures the event to be unique and filled with emotions. For men who don’t have much experience in planning proposals, this infographic is for you.
Chances are your soon to be wife (if she says yes) is expecting something grand and elaborate. You don’t want to meet her expectations, you want to exceed it by a long shot. You can easily do this by choosing a breathtaking background such as the ocean or a memorable trip.
When it comes to the actual proposal, there are several ways to make it count. Instead of simply popping the question, you could sing to her first. If you’re planning on hiding the engagement ring in your food, make sure it isn’t that hard to find.

Although Christmas still feels like something in the vast future (or past, depending on your point of view) it certainly doesn’t hurt to think about the wintry season as summer temperatures continue to rise. One of the most mesmerizing Christmas sights we’ve seen are these trams and local streetcars in Budapest decorated with over 30,000 LED lights. The twinkling lights, when photographed with just the right exposure, creates a marveling image that resembles a futuristic vehicle speeding through time. This beautiful tradition of decorating trams was an initiative by the Budapest Transport Company, which kicked off in 2009. If you want to plan a visit you’ll definitely want to check out their website for routes and tram schedules.

Prints of the long exposure images are available from Krisztian Birinyi through 500px. (via My Modern Met)

Design usando os 5 sentidos

by Canha

Isto elevaria a experiência do usuário no design a outro nível.

Comente!

20 Things You’ll Regret Every Time After Doing

by Ellen Eldridge

“A man is not old until regrets take the place of dreams.” – John Barrymore. Regrets are a part of life, but they don’t have to be a major part of it. Sometimes, doing certain things affects you in a way that you won’t consciously realize. Especially with the items that have an effect on the way others see you. If you knew what your boss thought of your political rant, you’d possibly regret it! Look over this list and try and avoid situations where regrets might be the only conclusion.

1. You’ll regret every time taking a job solely for money

If you have taken jobs for money and you felt unhappy, ending up getting fired or quitting, you may not have realized the feeling of regret. I mean, who doesn’t like money? But, the effect of jobs that aren’t right, that don’t motivate you and that don’t teach you anything are missed opportunities. Do what you love and don’t feel guilty about it. The money will follow.

2. You’ll regret every time not taking an opportunity

Whether it’s to learn something about your career field or an opportunity to learn anything, you should take it. Barring things that literally kill you, experience is what life is all about.

3. You’ll regret every time sending an email/text when you’re angry

I’ve learned to quell the desire to return fire in an electronic form of communication. Something about accessibility and the ability to quickly communicate makes us think we should act…without thinking. At times, I’ve sent things in anger that I didn’t mean because I misinterpreted the situation. Plain and simple, let your emotions settle and take the soot to compose a thought-out letter after the initial anger subsides.

4. You’ll regret every time cheating on partner

If you honestly don’t feel guilty or ashamed after cheating on your partner then you’re possible a sociopath. If a relationship isn’t working out, have the intestinal fortitude to admit it. Life goes by rapidly, but never so fast that you don’t have time to decide which lover you want to be with at any one moment. If you’re drunk at a bar or horny on a cruise, follow the same advice as emailing angry–and wait. Hurting other people selfishly is one of the biggest reasons to feel guilty. If you are moving on from one relationship with a person you met through cheating, will you truly trust that person not to cheat on you?

5. You’ll regret every time telling off your boss upon quitting

One of my coworkers used to joke about putting in his resignation by putting a pile of poop in an expensive store product. We would laugh and commiserate, but no one ever expected he would do it–and he never did. When you work for someone or some place, you have a responsibility to act as a professional. Even if your boss is the world’s biggest jerk, you don’t fix another person’s attitude by acting like a bigger ass. So, if you feel like you need to “settle the score,” when leaving a job, think over what you’re most upset about. Write it out in a nasty letter, but don’t send it! Wait a day or two. If you still feel the need to confront a former employer, do so with tact and without emotion.

6. You’ll regret every time putting off a passion/an interest

Author Russell Blake recently published a rant about running into a friend who acknowledged Blake’s career as a writer by saying he wanted to write a book too, but didn’t have the time. I loved this post because it proved to me once again that doing what one loves–especially when it’s in the arts–is not about a hobby. Passions are nature’s way of encouraging us silly humans. While your passion may be medicine or law, others thrive on painting or writing. The work one must put into a passion means time. If you put off the things you feel most strongly about, you will regret it. You won’t find time to start a poem let alone a book if you wait until the kids are grown or you can retire. Same thing for playing an instrument or learning to paint. Invest the time when the passion strikes.

7. You’ll regret every time not spending time with loved ones

Maybe you don’t see eye-to-eye with your dad, and maybe your dog really is your best friend, but I guarantee that you will feel more stressed and less productive when you don’t spend enough time with those you love. Don’t push too hard to impress the boss and get a promotion at the expense of a yearly family vacation. Kids want more than anything to spend time with their parents, so I promise you they will be more impressed with a weekend camping trip than with an expensive token.

8. You’ll regret every time staying at a dead-end job

Look around the office. If you know you aren’t moving up unless someone dies, then maybe you should look for a job where you can prove yourself and be rewarded for your contributions. Money is important when it comes to paying the mortgage and keeping food on the table, but life is too short to waste it chasing the almighty dollar. If you work to live, you’ve got it backwards and you should think about how you can make a living pursuing things that mean more to you. Your spirit will thank you for it even if you have moments where dinner has to be charged to a credit card.

9. You’ll regret every time let fear dictate decisions

Just like staying in a dead-end job because you fear unemployment or think you cannot survive without another paycheck, when fear guides your decisions you make mistakes. You do things out of fear–or rather you don’t do things because of fear. Many of the items on this list play into the idea of taking calculated risks and making the most of every day.

10. You’ll regret dropping out of school for no good reason.

Though life often “gets in the way,” remember that LIFE is what you make of it. Often, people drop out of school and think they can always go back later. This isn’t always the case and if you are pursuing a dream that requires a formal education (like being a doctor or nurse), then try not to give it up. If you need to take a leave of absense for personal reasons, do so, but try and get back at it.

11. You’ll regret every time not telling loved ones how you feel

As with making sure you spend enough time with those you love, making sure you are open and honest with your feelings is just as important. Holding hurt feelings back often leads to resentment, which can lead to infidelity in a marriage. Worse yet is when we race through life too busy to say “I love you,” and the unthinkable happens. It takes mere seconds to hug and kiss your loved ones so do it often and don’t hold back when you feel an emotion–unless it’s anger, in which case you should calm down and communicate rationally to move forward.

12. You’ll regret every time letting friends slip away

Okay, I admit this is another of those that you may not experience regret from every time. If you choose to move on from a stagnant or negative relationship, that is different than forgetting to invest the time to be a friend to keep a friend. It’s not always about what you want to talk about; call a friend and make sure he or she doesn’t need an ear.

13. You’ll regret every time yelling at your kids

This one probably hits close to home for most parents–at least, it does for me. I’m guilty of letting the stress get to me and yelling at the kids. In my defense, they seem to purposefully infuriate me. The way my 3-year-old stares me down–understanding exactly what I am saying not to do, and then doing it–ruffles my feathers in unimaginable ways. I’ve never hit either of my kids (my youngest is now 18 months old), but I feel guilty every time I yell at them because I know that yelling doesn’t accomplish anything. Other than to scare them into wandering into traffic, yelling just makes stress worse.

14. You’ll regret every time stress eating

Eh, you won’t regret stress eating every time, and sometimes comfort food is a good way to indulge in life’s finer things. But, the truth is that stress eating in and of itself is unhealthy because the act of fulfilling a nutritional need with junk food is like a junkie using drugs. Make conscious choices to indulge in fine chocolate or calorie laden dessert every once in a while and don’t let stress be your guide.

15. You’ll regret every time drunken posting on social media

This should go without saying, but obviously many of us post drunk. We shouldn’t. Just like with holding emotions until we can “see clearly,” holding off on saying anything social can wait until we’re sober.

16. You’ll regret every time ranting on social media

This is again one of those things that you may not consciously realize you regret, but your over-the-top political posts and rants about how much you hate your service providers causes others to perceive you in ways you’d regret if you knew better. Just because a status or profile is set to “private” doesn’t guarantee the wrong person won’t see it. Rant with caution because even if you don’t immediately see the error of your ways, you will with enough distance. Some things simply aren’t worth it.

17. Sharing a secret someone told you in confidence

When you betray your friends’ trust you prove yourself to be an unworthy friend. Even if the person isn’t someone you’d classify as a “friend,” betraying confidence will only make others perceive you as a gossip at best.

18. You’ll regret every time succumbing to peer pressure

Just like when you take a job for money or stay in a dead-end job out of fear, when you succumb to peer pressure you project an image of being a follower. You want to be a brave leader in life. Taking calculated risks and losing is better than always agreeing to do what everyone else is doing just because that may be easier.

19. You’ll regret every time belittling someone else

A huge, fat line of difference exists between constructive criticism and belittling. Most of us know what it feels like to be wrongly judged too quickly, but we should all appreciate the opportunity to grow from feedback. When you belittle someone, you will regret it because belittling others makes you nothing more than a bully.

20. You’ll regret every time listening to Nickelback

Ha ha, I’m kidding, not belittling Nickelback’s music. The controversy and “peer pressure” to hate something is a perfect point that supports many of the things on my list. Before you decide to join your friends in a laugh at the expense of any artist or individual, take the time to make your own decision. Nickelback isn’t so bad. Overrated by some and bashed brutally by others, but as with anything in life, you’ll regret what you do without thinking first.

Every Daughter Wants And Needs A Perfect Dad Like This

by Anna Chui

I’m happy to have a dad who’s been taking very good care of the family and who has always loved his daughters. I want to dedicate this post to all the fathers and daughters. I think every daughter wants and needs a dad who does these 30 things.

  1. A dad who loves and respects his wife, and does not afraid to show affection for her in front of others. When his daughter grows up, she’ll love someone who’ll cherish her the way her father cherishes her mother.
  2. A dad who loves his parents and his wife’s parents. He takes good care of them and is a role model to his daughter.
  3. A dad who doesn’t say foul words or smoke in front of his daughter (or doesn’t do these at all). He doesn’t want his daughter to learn any of these bad habits.
  4. A dad who’s willing to spend time with the family. He does not just physically present, but mentally involves in every stage of his daughter’s life as she’s growing up.
  5. A dad who lets his daughter ride on his shoulders all the time when she’s still a little girl.
  6. A dad who always pat his daughter’s head gently to show his encouragement for her.
  7. A dad who holds her little daughter up, throws her to the air and catches her back. He knows his little girl is brave enough to enjoy the fun, and when she grows up she won’t be afraid of height.
  8. A dad who is like a superhero and saves his daughter’s day when she needs help the most. He’ll try everything he can to make sure his daughter doesn’t feel helpless.
  9. A dad who doesn’t easily throw temper in front of his daughter even though he has had a rough day at work or is very stressful.
  10. A dad who can wisely choose sides in fights between his wife and his daughter (and sometimes, even his mother or mother-in-law).
  11. A dad who knows when and how to punish his daughter so she doesn’t get spoiled and can learn her lessons.
  12. A dad who teaches his daughter how to do sports to stay healthy. He goes cycling, jogging and hiking with his daughter.
  13. A dad who praises his daughter every now and then, for her beauty and her wisdom, so she’ll always feel confident about herself.
  14. A dad who never misses his daughter’s birthday, and because of this, his daughter will never miss his either.
  15. A dad who knows how to deal with his teenage daughter’s sadness. Instead of annoying her, he knows how to cheer her up.
  16. A dad who does not spy on his daughter, rather, talks with her frankly to find out how she thinks and feels.
  17. A dad who treats his daughter’s friends friendly. He doesn’t have to be very good-looking but will make her friends want to have a father like him.
  18. A dad who talks with his daughter about relationships and the way men think. He knows his daughter has to learn the life lessons herself but he wants her to know how to protect and love herself.
  19. A dad who feels a little jealous when his daughter starts dating, but at the same time feels happy for her.
  20. A dad who gains respect from his daughter’s boyfriend. Her boyfriend will learn from him how to be a respectable man and how to love and treat her right.
  21. A dad who allows his daughter to hold the wheel when she has got the driver’s license.
  22. A dad who trusts his daughter and gives her more freedom as she grows up.
  23. A dad who texts his daughter at late night just to make sure that she’s safe if she’s not home yet.
  24. A dad who’s always backing up his daughter when it comes to difficult situations like failing in exams, feeling under pressure and going through painful breakups.
  25. A dad who gives his daughter the firmest hug, and may even be in tears when he sees her off to somewhere else.
  26. A dad who is not afraid to show how much he misses his daughter when she has to leave for a while. He will send her emails and call her just to make sure she’s doing fine.
  27. A dad who supports the things his daughter does and encourage her to practice more and do the best all the time.
  28. A dad who secretly wipes his tears when it comes to the day that his daughter has found “the one” to marry.
  29. A dad who feels happier than his daughter when she has a baby. He will hug and kiss the baby the way he used to do with his little daughter.
  30. A dad who is proud of his daughter for whatever she has achieved. To him, she is always perfect.

I know what you’re going to say, no one in this world is perfect, right? That’s true, but my father is perfect to me (and my younger sister at least)!

Northern White-faced Owl Assists Illustrator Using Tablet

by Christopher Jobson

Apropos of nothing, here’s a quick video of a Japanese illustrator who goes by the name Satsuma, working with a Northern white-faced owl perched on his hand. The clip is humourous in and of itself, but it’s especially fascinating to see the stabilization of the bird’s head and eyes while he works. Strangely mesmerizing. (via Tastefully Offensive)

DIY – The Essential Guide To Natural Cleaning Products

by Hemendra

Home cleaning is one tedious task most people try to put off and do it grudgingly when it’s finally unavoidable. The modern cleaning equipment and implements have made it easier, it would seem. The shelves across supermarkets are loaded with such genius products that claim to kill germs, disinfect your home, and save you from certain Armageddon! But nearly all of have two major problems; one they leave a residual smell that makes you wanna move to the mountains and the other is that they’re loaded with more chemicals than Dexter’s lab!

Heiton Buckley have put together an awesome infographic that lists all natural, DIY cleaners available in your home. These would not only clean and disinfect but would also have your home smelling so good that you wouldn’t wanna step out. Do try!

Adriana Lima ensina o verdadeiro futebol aos gringos…

by Amanda de Almeida

Beauty Bites

by Norah

POST/PHOTOGRAPHY/GRAPHIC DESIGN BY NORAH CURLEE

From a truck, a bowl, or straight out of the carton…we all scream for ice cream! Well today, we’ve got the scoop on how you can make a benefit packed, dairy free, super healthy version of this frozen favorite. You’ll never know the difference! Fresh cherries are the highlight of today’s recipe and we can’t wait to tell you why.

We used frozen bananas as a base for this faux ice cream. Something magical happens when you blend frozen bananas. It adds that creamy texture of ice cream without having to use cream! It’s totally genius and completely customizable. You can add any fruit you like and the bananas take on any flavor they’re blended with. The options are endless. Here’s what you’ll need for our cherry chip version:

4 frozen bananas

1 1/2 cups fresh pitted cherries, frozen

1/4 cup almond or coconut milk

1/2 cup chopped dark chocolate (we used 80%)

THE PROCESS:

1. Peel your bananas and slice your cherries to remove the pits

2. Put the bananas and cherries into the freezer (3 or 4 hours)

3. Place frozen bananas, 1 cup frozen cherries and almond milk into a blender and blend until smooth

4. Pour into a container and mix in 1/2 cup chopped dark chocolate and remaining 1/2 cup of sliced cherries. (We sprinkled some on top as well for the pretty factor!)

5. Put the entire container into the freezer for at least 1-2 hours

6. Start scooping! (Two scoops please!)

So let’s talk about our delicious friend, the fresh cherry..

There are so many amazing varieties of fresh cherries out there: Bing cherries, Black cherries, North Star cherries, Rainier cherries; all with great health and beauty benefits! Cherries have super high antioxidant levels. For example, the the Montmorency cherry has one of the highest antioxidant levels of any fruit with 17 different antioxidant compounds present. Woah! Antioxidants are vital to the body in order to fight free radicals…the biggest causers of  aging. Free radicals are the pits! (We couldn’t resist). Tart cherries are high in melatonin which is a natural way to help that much needed beauty sleep come to fruition. (We know it’s tough to come by!) Cherry juice is also rich in vitamin A and its antibacterial properties remove toxins from the blood and fight bacteria trapped under the skin.

The month of June is the peak of cherry season! We plan on taking advantage of these sweet benefits all month long.

Nice stems! Plan on trying this recipe out? We want to see pics! Instagram: @thebeautydept  Twitter: @tbdofficial

10 Life Lessons People with Tattoos Can Teach You

by Kayla Matthews

Not everyone understands the growing cultural trend of getting tattooed. Some people find it absolutely appalling, way too painful to even consider, or think that a tattoo means they can never have a strong, professional career.

But for those of us who like tattoos, these supposedly negative consequences of body modification don’t phase us at all. We enjoy and learn from our tattooing experiences and now you can learn from them, too.

Here are 10 life lessons you can learn from people with tattoos:

1. Your standards are the only ones that matter

tattoo 7

Of course not everyone will think that your new chest piece is as gorgeous as you do, but why should that matter?

As long as you love the way it looks and feel great about yourself because of it, those stares on the street are laughable.

2. First impressions aren’t always right

tattoo 12

Anyone with tattoos or a heavily tattooed friend can tell you this life lesson is true. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched perfectly nice, loving, and intelligent people get judged because of their ink.

Having tattoos and knowing people with tattoos teaches you to not place value on appearances and, instead, spend more time getting to know new people.

3. Pain is temporary

tattoo 13

This, for sure, is something every tattoo-ee can attest to. Regardless of your pain tolerance, you’re bound to encounter one tattoo that hurts like a B. But making it through a painful tattooing experience just makes you more proud of the end result.

Sometimes we forget that painful things can lead to great things, but I think tattoos are a fabulous reminder of that.

4. Fear of new experiences is overrated

tattoo 5

Getting your first tattoo can be scary for a lot of people. It’s something you’ve never done before and, let’s face it, it is a substantial commitment.

But people who go through with a tattoo in spite of their fears feel better about themselves afterwards and are happy with the experience. Most of them even go back for more.

5. Meaning is subjective

tattoo 6

No two tattoos have exactly the same meaning. Every person molds their own ideas, experiences and memories into their tattoo and what it represents.

To judge someone based off of what you think their tattoo means is completely pointless.

6. And not EVERYTHING has to have a set meaning

tattoo 15

One the other hand, it’s also pointless to just assume that every tattoo a person has means something amazingly unique and special to them.

Lots of people get tattoos just because they like a pattern or concept and that’s it. Many people also get tattoos just for the sake of getting more tattoos. Not everything needs a universal purpose to exist. Some things exist ‘just because.’

7. Money isn’t everything

tattoo 14

One of the biggest critiques people have of tattoos is about how much money they cost. Granted, each tattoo parlor is different and runs by its own prices, but a decent color tattoo is likely to cost you a couple hundred dollars. So what?

Not only do you get some cool artwork that you get to keep with you forever, but you also get a lasting memory and fun experience that you can tell people about for the rest of your life. I’d call that priceless.

8. Nothing is ever a mistake if you are true to yourself

tattoo 9

Another life lesson tattoos teach you is that ‘mistakes’ don’t matter if you believe you were true to yourself. Maybe you have to wear concealing shirts at work to cover up your sleeves. So what?

People are so quick to deem tattoos a mistake if their owners need to cover them up from 9 to 5 later in life. I call it a win-win; not only do you get to keep the job that you want but you also get to keep getting tattoos. That sounds pretty good to me.

9. Being outrageous is fun

tattoo 1

While staring at a stranger’s tattoo can be rather obnoxious, sometimes it’s kind of fun to get stared at. Especially if someone is staring at a tattoo you’re particularly fond of.

Most people don’t get tattoos just to show them off, but showing them off can be pretty fun once in a while.

10. Being who you want to be is the only way to be truly happy

tattoo 11

Lastly, one of the biggest life lessons you can learn from people with tattoos is that doing what makes you happy is the only way to live a truly satisfying life.

Why be the kind of person someone else wants you to be? Why do that?

Be who you want and no one else.

The Bear Man Of Finland
