Quite Possibly the Most Powerful Energy Drink Ever

by Caffeine Fiend
most-powerful-energy-drink

With so many energy drinks on the market, officials and consumers alike are concerned with the amount of caffeine in energy drinks and shots.

This has a lot to do with the reports of the recent deaths that have been blamed on energy beverages.

One of our goals at Caffeine Informer is to educate the consumer about how much caffeine is in the beverages and products that fill the store shelves.

Consumers can go to our Caffeine Database and find the most caffeinated drinks, but because there are a lot of drinks, in varying sizes and caffeine content we’ve made things easier.

Based on caffeine/ounce alone, we list below the most caffeinated energy drinks and energy shots listed in our database.

Top 10 Most Powerful Energy Drinks/Shots

With the update to this list we now only include RTD energy shots and drinks. Mixins like liquid or powder caffeine products are highly caffeinated but dependent on the user as regards to the amount of caffeine the “created” drink would contain.

Energy Shots (Most caffeine per bottle)

  1. 10 Hour Energy Shot: 422 mg/ bottle
  2. Redline Power Rush: 350 mg/bottle
  3. Spike Energy Double Shot: 350 mg/bottle
  4. Redline Xtreme Shot: 300 mg/bottle
  5. SK Energy Shot: 280 mg/bottle
  6. 7-Eleven Energy Shot: 260 mg/bottle
  7. E6 Energy Shot: 235 mg/bottle
  8. 5 Hour Energy Extra Strength: 230 mg/bottle
  9. Red Thunder Extra Strength Energy Shot (Aldi) 230 mg/bottle
  10. Eternal Energy Shot 222 mg/bottle

Energy Drinks (Most caffeine per can/bottle)

  1. Hyde Power Potion: 350 mg/can
  2. Spike Energy Drink: 350 mg/can
  3. Wired X344: 344 mg/can
  4. Redline Xtreme Energy Drink: 316 mg/bottle
  5. Bang Energy Drink: 300 mg/can
  6. Celsius Heat Energy Drink: 300 mg/can
  7. Rockstar Xdurance Energy Drink: 300 mg/can
  8. Spike Shooter: 300 mg/can
  9. Viso Energy Drink: 300 mg/bottle
  10. Cocaine Energy Drink: 280mg/can
Be to check out the real-time updated list of the 15 most caffeinated energy drinks. The list is sorted by caffeine concentration, rather than the overall caffeine amount.

Drink Featured: VPX Redline

VPX Redline used to be #1 with their concentrated VPX Redline Fat Burner. However, this version has since been taken off the market.

The below account is based on The Original Redline which was a 240 ml concentrated liquid.

Redline now distributes Redline RTD, Redline Extreme, Redline Princess, and Redline Power Rush some of which are listed above.

All of these new versions contain the original formula but watered down.

Historical review of VPX Redline Fat Burner

One of the most powerful energy drinks is called VPX Redline Fat Burner. Amazon is lacking a little information, so here’s a little more:

Check out this freaky scientific VPX breakthrough: RED LINE®: is the only matrix ever developed to shred fat through the shivering response in the body. By shivering the body burns huge amounts of stored body fat for energy in an effort to keep the body warm. That’s not all! In addition to shivering, you’ll also be sweating up a thermogenic storm. The combined mechanisms of these two processes results in unparalleled fat loss!

What fun. Now, it’s pretty obvious looking at the ingredients that there’s caffeine. But get this: all of the aforementioned goodness and the serving size is FOUR ml. About one-tenth of an ounce. The whole bottle has 240 ml or 60 servings. Basically, a bottle of this, less than the size of a normal can of coke, WILL kill you. This is nothing to be playing around with.

I have friends. Not just normal friends, mind you. The kind of friends that voluntarily live on the streets. The kind of friends who, when drinking, race to forgetting. The kind of friends who take caffeine pills, ephedrine pills, and aspirin.. all at once. One, in particular, drinks and consumes over a gram of caffeine daily, to stave off the headaches. So you know this is a serious review:

oh yeah, it’s definitely 90% caffeine. the aftertaste is unmistakeable. the best part is that since i didn’t have my normal “dose” this morning, I probably won’t actually feel sh*t.

[10 minutes later]

the caffeine kicked in a lot faster than i expected. Though in retrospect, it normally does when it’s in syrup form and tastes like ass.

I feel oddly cold too. Took me a minute to realize that while I still was warm, it was that ‘shiver’ reflex kicking in. It’s a lot like when
you get a chill at the back of your neck, but somewhat continuous.

So what’s in this magical bottle of awesome? Caffeine, Green Tea, Yerba Mate, 5-HTP (5 hydroxy-1-tryptophan), cAMP, Yohimbe, Evodiamine, and Vinpocetine. And a few other things.

I know, I know, so here’s some more info:

cAMP is cyclic adenosine monophosphate. It supposedly “sparks many intercellular processes.” Whatever that means. Increased concentrations supposedly raise thyroid hormone levels and help fat burning (would help explain why it’s in a fat-burning supplement).

Yohimbe is a bark extract from a tree in Africa. It’s considered a natural aphrodisiac and sold here to treat impotency, dilate pupils, and stimulate fat loss. It can also mess with your blood pressure, so watch out.

Evodiamine is derived from some Chinese fruit called Evodia Rutaecarpa. Supposedly burns fat.

Vinpocetine is an alkaloid derived from some periwinkle plant. It is used in Europe, Japan, and Mexico to treat cerebrovascular and cognitive disorders. Some people claim it elevates metabolism, but with no proof.

And the interesting one in the group: 5-HTP. I made sure to spell it out, so the smart ones in the group have already figured out the key: Tryptophan. It’s the same stuff in turkey that makes you sleepy, and there’s scientific evidence of it. The 5-HTP compound is sometimes used to treat mild depression since, somehow, it can increase serotonin levels. It can also affect appetite, which may be part of why they put it in here. The other part? When you’re jacking up a drink with this much caffeine, you’re going to get jitters and “scatterbrain.” This may actually cut the disconnected thoughts out and allow you to think normally, but still, give you the energy effects of caffeine. Awesome.

Apparently, you can buy this stuff at places like Super Supplements, GNC, and even some 7-11s. The concentrate isn’t something you should take a guzzle of. Or even a large sip. If you search on the internet, you can see some people who took the recommended dose and started blacking out towards the end of a workout. Blacking out. 4 milliliters. Damn. There’s also a ready-to-drink version (I would bet that’s the one at 7-11), and half a bottle is all that’s recommended. Pay attention to it. People are comparing the 1/2 bottle to a full hit of ephedra. Unless you’ve done that before and know the effect it has on your body, don’t go doing anything macho with this one.

Just for poignant measure, look at this review:

I recently purchased the liquid form of redline at a local 7 Eleven store.

It was the first time I have ever drank an energy drink that had such an affect. With in a few minutes, I started to sweat and shake. Being familiar with the effects of narcotics, I must say the feeling felt a lot like cocaine feels.

The most disturbing trait is that my penis shriveled up like I just got out of the icy cold ocean. I can’t help but think that this product will be taken off the market. The effects are too strong for some minors and may not be safe for people on certain medication which are yet to be known.

And this one:

I tried Redline today while heading to work. I am a huge fan of Red Bull & Diet Rockstar. I am 33 years old & in excellent condition.

Having not read the warning label I drank the whole bottle within 5 minutes. Within 10 minutes I was blacking out behind the wheel & shaking uncontrollably. I pulled over at a gas station — I was having difficulty in swallowing and could not stand, breathe or see straight.

I could not even walk for the convulsions. A bystander called the paramedics. Needless to say – my blood pressure was sky high & I thought I was on my way out.

I feel this drink is extremely dangerous & should not be on the market. There needs to be a very visible warning label not to drink the whole bottle for beginners. It has been 5 hours now & I still do not feel normal.

This drink could seriously kill someone if not informed. I am sorry but I will never drink this again nor recommend it to fellow peers.

Highly Caffeinated Energy Drinks Are No Joke

Most of these highly caffeinated energy drinks and shots are designed to be used by people that have built up a tolerance to caffeine and/or people who are using caffeine as a workout performance aid.

They should not be consumed by the general public and definitely kept out of the reach of minors.  Always be aware of a drink’s ingredients and your own tolerance/sensitivity to caffeine before consuming any energy supplement you aren’t familiar with.

The Future of Tablets is Multi-Mode Not Dual-OS, says Lenovo

by Softpedia News (Alexandra Arici)
There has been a lot of fuss about dual-OS as of late. ASUS for one, unveiled its 4-in-1 Transformer Book Duet machine, capable of switching between Android and Windows in a mere 4 seconds at CES 2014.

And according to Intel more devices will be joining the race, offering customers a much needed functionality (if you listen to the chip-maker).

But there are some manufacturers that aren’t convinced this is the future. And one of them is Lenovo. In a recent inter... (read more)

Planets Assholes Distancing Themselves From Shia LaBeouf

by Colm Williamson

Shia LaBeouf

THE MAJORITY of the planets assholes have come together today to tell the world that they will be ‘distancing themselves’ from actor Shia LaBeouf, in a bid to claim back some kind of respect for themselves.

James Thomas, chairman of the Asshole Society of Ireland, said he will not have the media associating the group with the Transformers star, who has recently plagiarized a well known Graphic Novel for a movie he was making, before the ‘retiring from public life’.

“That guy doesn’t deserve to be called an asshole.” said a very irate Thomas earlier. “God forgive me, but maybe its not just public life he should be retiring from.”

Shia LaBeouf’s was also reported to have assaulted a man in a London city bar last week after he apparently insulted his girlfriends mother.

Mr. LaBeouf later apologised to then man, stating he was ‘a total dickhead’ for headbutting him.

Following his apology, a law firm representing the global Dickheads association advised the 27-year-old to retract his statement, holding him liable for using their name in vain.

How ILM created Hong Kong with special effects just to destroy it

by Casey Chan on Sploid, shared by Casey Chan to Gizmodo

Probably the most insane fight sequence of Pacific Rim was when a Jaeger fought a Kaiju in the streets of Hong Kong. The entire city was destroyed, glass shards flew everywhere, neon lights were exploding, streets were being crushed, shipping containers somehow were involved and the whole battle was just beyond epic. Here's how ILM made it happen. It involves a lot of computers, yes, but also a miniature scale set filled with 3D printed goodies.

The Man Who Invented The Telephone Was A Secret Speed Freak

On February 14th, 1876, Alexander Graham Bell got his name put in the history books when he beat fellow inventor Elisha Gray to the patent office with his new creation, the telephone. And while the telephone's importance to humanity is neat, it's not exactly Bell's most adrenaline-pumping idea. For that, you need water. And speed.

Hard Floor Scrubber With Spray Applicator makes cleaning easier

by Edwin

scrubber-sprayA man’s home is his castle, or so the saying goes. Regardless of whether you are the monarch in your very own little ‘kingdom’, you surely do not have hundreds of servants at your beck and call to keep your place nice and clean, do you? Of course, those multi-millionaires as well as billionaires are exempt from this particular question since they can afford such a workforce, but for the ordinary working Joe and Jane, it can be pretty tiring to make sure that your home is nice and clean especially after a hard day at the office. Good news though, there are tools out there that can help you achieve a clean home, and this is where the $129.95 Hard Floor Scrubber With Spray Applicator comes in.

The Hard Floor Scrubber With Spray Applicator happens to be a home floor cleaner that has a built-in applicator which is capable of scrubbing and polishing hard surfaces with a simple one-handed operation. Apart from that, there is also a 30-oz. reservoir that has been mounted on the handle, holding your preferred cleaning solution. All it takes is a squeeze of the trigger and a spray will be released. The scrubber itself comes with dual, counter-rotating nylon drive brushes that rotate at 450 rpm. You will be able to attach the microfiber pads, felt disc, or green carpet bonnets in order to buff a brilliant sheen into hardwood floors, or clean tile, marble, and concrete, among others.

Ars readers react to Target’s POS snafu and mining Coinye coins

by Ars Staff
A new Coinye logo that's been, ahem, floating around.

The most high-profile hack in recent months has no doubt belonged to mega-retailer Target, which suffered the theft of over 40 million credit card numbers around Thanksgiving. The hack is still being investigated, but independent journalist Brian Krebs discovered "memory-scraping" malware hiding on Target's POS this week. You can find all the details in Dan Goodin's story, Point-of-sale malware infecting Target found hiding in plain sight.

Ars readers, of course, had plenty of theories as to how that malware got there. nijave wrote, "The registers probably either network boot or periodically contact a server to check for updated versions automatically. I'm guessing they compromised the server that the POS systems boot/get updates from. That system is probably fairly easily accessible. Running a network vulnerability scanner probably would find an exploitable server they could install their command and control server on. This could have been one of the inventory management servers the registers are allowed to communicate with."

Spazmodica had a more big-picture view: "Target got completely hosed on this. There definitely seems to be an insider element, plus a fair amount of incompetency. But aside from some IT staff who will lose their jobs, the only harm is to the consumers whose data has been compromised. The corporation itself won't face any real consequences, since it's perfectly legal to lose consumer data in the USA (unless it's medical data), and of course here in America corporate executives are never held accountable for anything." And Scallywag quipped, "POS systems are, indeed, well named."

Supreme Court will hear case on police search of cell phones

by Megan Geuss

On Friday, the Supreme Court said that it would weigh in on whether it is legal for police officers to search the contents of a suspect's cell phone when they are arrested. Specifically, the high court will take up two cases from California and Massachusetts, both arising from criminal prosecutions, that have brought to question the admissibility of evidence obtained through a search of the suspect's phone after arrest.

The legal decision will come down to whether searching cell phones without a warrant is a violation of the Fourth Amendment, which prohibits unreasonable search and seizure. Earlier court precedent has allowed police officers to search all the items that a person has on them at the time of arrest. But as phones have grown to include e-mail, bank history, and location data, the potential problems with the old standards have become more apparent.

A Supreme Court ruling, at least, would give some clarity as to how such situations should be handled. Reuters notes that 91 percent of Americans now have cellphones, and over half of those can connect to the Internet.
