Don King Uses The N-Word While Introducing Trump
DarylsuratDon King lives like 20 minutes away from me. I saw him and his Bentley once at a local barbecue place located near his gun range--he owns a gun range--where he occupied two tables and ordered enough food for at least 6 ordinary mortals
Don King perfomed for the crowd at Trump event in Cleveland, as was his place and his message.
Source: New York Times
The former boxing promoter Don King let loose a racial epithet while introducing Donald J. Trump in Ohio on Wednesday as the candidate was sitting just a few feet away onstage.
In the middle of making the case for why America, and “especially black people,” need to elect Mr. Trump, Mr. King recalled something he once told Michael Jackson about assimilation.
“I told Michael Jackson, I said, if you are poor, you are a poor Negro — I would use the N-word — if you are rich, you are a rich Negro,” he said at a campaign event at the New Spirit Revival Center in Cleveland Heights.
“If you are a talented intellectual, you are an intellectual Negro. If you are a dancing and sliding and gliding nigger, I mean Negro,” he said, as he chuckled briefly and those in the crowd laughed nervously around him.
Mr. Trump, who was sitting directly behind Mr. King and smiling broadly for much of his introduction, did not flinch or break his gaze. He kept his smile and turned to those sitting next to him, as Mr. King corrected himself.

A gif of the moment King used the n-word.

"The Brave Yoshihiko" Adventures Again in October of 2016
Heroes will rise to fight evil once more, because the official Japanese broadcast schedule for The Brave Yoshihiko and the Seven Guides - the 3rd series in a low-budget, late-night, live-action TV comedy that spoofs the conventions of Japanese roleplaying games and fantasy stories - is now available online.

The newest series is set hundreds of years after the conclusion of Season 2, The Brave Yoshiko and the Key of an Evil Spirit, which culminated with the defeat of the Deathtark, the God of Darkness. In Season 3, Yoshihiko finds himself reincarnated in an unfamiliar time and tasked by Buddha with once again saving the world from the forces of evil.
The Brave Yoshihiko and the Seven Guides stars Takayuki Yamada as Yoshihiko and is directed by Yuichi Fukuda, director of the live-action Gintama film. The series will broadcast on TV Tokyo every Friday during the late-night 24:12 time slot beginning on October 07, 2016. (Note: The 24:12 time slot is actually 12:12 AM JST on Saturday morning.)

Sam Bee Mocks Lauer, Hits Media For Inability To 'Call A Liar A Liar'
DarylsuratAs with everything else, the only people who'll ever see this are people who already know
Samantha Bee dived right back into this insane election season with an in-depth look at last week's disastrous Commander-in-Chief forum, Matt Lauer, and the dismal state of our Fourth Estate.
"I bet the veterans have some things they'd like to ask a draft dodging, Gold Star family insulting, war crimes advocating torture-phile whose worst Vietnam flashback involves scrambling for the last plane out of Gonorrhea," she mocked.
After skewering Lauer and Trump, she went after the rest of them for their aversion to checking facts, which seems to be an epidemic in this election cycle. And boy howdy, did she find some awesome clips, where journalists challenged their viewers to decide if Trump wants to violate the Geneva conventions.
"You heard her, average American. In your plentiful spare time when you're not working your two jobs or watching your screaming kids, why not spend 20 or 30 hours studying the Geneva Convention so you know whether or not it's okay to steal another country's oil," she mocked.
"There's no time to report the facts and what people feel are the facts," she warned. "You've got to choose one. Guys, we are swimming in bad information. Our dads are on Facebook. Chemtrails are not real, dad."
"Why can't the media just tell us what's true and what's bullsh*t? "
After playing some clips of the self-justification cable talkers give for why they can't possibly serve as fact-checkers -- like Tweety claiming Matt Lauer would be expressing an opinion by bringing up facts, Bee laid it out.
CNN Reporter Admits Email Hearings Led By Trump Allies In Congress
DarylsuratThis should probably be a bigger deal on TV, but then I think that about a great many things...

We all know the Mainstream Media's addiction to both-siderism is to blame for Donald Trump. By insisting that Trump deserves the same consideration as Clinton, they ignore proven, real-life pay-to-play scandalous conduct while serving up endless nothingburgers about her 'reckless' email. The both-sides are equal press is pretending to be unbiased, but they are being decidedly biased by propping up a lying unqualified candidate.
Additional blame should be placed squarely on the shoulders of Republicans in the House, like Jason Chaffetz, (R-UT). Republicans are determined to destroy Hillary Clinton while fleecing taxpayers out of millions of dollars by conducting costly, redundant and highly biased hearings on a matter already asked and answered by the FBI. CNN's Manu Raju openly admits that the whole charade is a ploy designed by Trump's political allies in Congress to take the focus off him. They are trying to hide his incompetence in every measure of a decent candidate.
Thanks to Media Matters for the transcript:
Hashtag Of The Day Is 'Lauering' The Bar

h/t Driftglass for the video.
In case you missed it, last night's Commander in Chief forum was so bad, its badness is being covered this morning by People Magazine.
Matt Lauer interrupted most of Clinton's answers in order to "move on." He was so nice and condescending to Trump, that EVEN the New York Times noticed. That's pretty bad.
Pretty brutal headline in the NYT. pic.twitter.com/HTnTRuv9vX
— Steve Inskeep (@NPRinskeep) September 8, 2016
@RealDonalDrumpf created the hashtag #LaueringTheBar which immediately started trending.
Because the problem is the media. The Problem. Is the media.
And Matt Lauer is singled out because it was one event with both candidates and the immediate comparison could be made. But it's being going on this way for months. Trump lies about everything. But emails! Trump actually paid a fine to the IRS for falsely reporting a contribution to Florida's AG. But Clinton Foundation Optics! Trump's 'doctor' is a pothead hippie who wrote Trump's "health report" without the patient present. But Hillary coughed!
"Street Fighter V" Trailer Gets Pumped for This Month's Urien Addition
DarylsuratAlthough it makes logical sense to not be able to see feet below the waves, all this means in terms of a game is that characters who have slides or ground projectiles become invisible to opponents.
Straight from the roster of Street Fighter III, Urien is coming to Street Fighter V this month as the final "Season 1" DLC character. More details on the update's timing will be revealed during this month's Tokyo Game Show, but for now you can see Urien in action in his debut trailer.
Check out Capcom-Unity's blog post for more specifics on Urien's skills.

CNN Admits They Serve As Parrots For The RNC
For the past three weeks, all we have heard about is how many days it has been since Hillary Clinton held a press conference. The drumbeat has been relentless, consuming reporters on social media on a daily basis. On cable news, innumerable segments from everyone from Andrea Mitchell to Rachel Maddow to Wolf Blitzer were run complaining that Hillary isn't holding a press conference.
There was even a countdown clock. And as it turns out, that countdown came directly from the Republican National Committee, as Ashleigh Banfield admitted in her intro to a discussion with Jeff Zeleny about "the cough," which is the topic of today's huddle.
Turning to Zeleny, Banfield said, "Jeff, we get these e-mails from the RNC doing a countdown of how many days it has been since Secretary Clinton has held a news conference...We are at 276."
"Do these [impromptu Q&As] count towards that or is she trying to offset the fact she hasn't been doing business press conferences?," Banfield asked.
Soledad O'Brien Scolds CNN: Trump Coverage Is 'Softening The Ground' For White Supremacy

Former CNN host Soledad O'Brien blasted the cable news business over the weekend for profiting off the hate speech that has fueled Donald Trump's political rise.
According to O'Brien, the media had gone through "contortions to make things seem equal all the time" when comparing Trump to Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
"If you look at Hillary Clinton's speech where she basically pointed out that what Donald Trump has done -- actually quite well -- has normalized white supremacy," O'Brien explained to CNN host Brian Stelter on Sunday. "I think she made a very good argument, almost like a lawyer. Here is ways in which he has actually worked to normalize conversations that many people find hateful."
"I've seen on-air, white supremacists being interviewed because they are Trump delegates," she noted. "And they do a five minute segment, the first minute or so talking about what they believe as white supremacists. So you have normalized that."
FEATURE: Cruising the Crunchy-Catalog: "Ringing Bell"
What's “Cruising the Crunchy-Catalog”?
With so many titles to choose from, picking an anime to watch can make you feel like a little lost lamb wandering in a vast wilderness. Fear not, gentle reader, because “Cruising the Crunchy-Catalog” is here to help. Each week we provide additional information and cultural context to help fans determine whether or not they'd like to take an unknown title for a test-drive.

What's Ringing Bell?
Ringing Bell is a 1978 short film directed by Masami Hata and animated by Sanrio, the creators of such cute properties as Hello Kitty and Show by Rock!!. The film is an adaptation of the 1978 book Chirin no Suzu (“Chirin's Bell”) by Takashi Yanase, the creator of Anpanman.

Crunchyroll describes Ringing Bell as follows:
“Chirin is an innocent though adventurous young lamb whose carefree life on the farm comes to an abrupt end when a wolf murders his mother. Confused and angry, Chirin pursues the wolf into the mountains, seeking revenge. The laws of nature are brutal, however, and hatred alone won't be enough to avenge the loss of his mother. Only the strong survive in the wild, and obtaining that strength may change Chirin forever.”

Yes, folks, Ringing Bell is a children's story with themes so bleak, they will make your head spin. It's also a surprisingly artistic work, one that is filled with both cartoony character animation and more dog-murder than a typical season of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.
The Emotional Landscape.
If you watch Ringing Bell with a critical eye, one of the first details you'll notice is the use of space and environment to represent emotional and psychological states. When Chirin is safe with his mother and the rest of the flock, the pasture is all blue skies, green grass, and fleecy clouds. But when Chirin enters Woe's world, the mountain is a barren and intimidating place composed entirely of harsh, jutting crags.

Similarly, physical distance reflects emotional distance. Chirin and his mother's sense of love and intimacy is reflected in how they snuggle together on equal footing, but the relationship between Chirin and Woe is separated not only by distance but by height, with the powerful wolf towering over the weak and defenseless sheep.

The School of Hard Knocks.
Another element that gives Ringing Bell such a heavy emotional impact is its complete absence of a reassuring moral message. Unlike a typical Disney or DreamWorks animated film in which parents may die but ultimately the karmic balance is restored in the end, there is no happy resolution for Chirin.

Consumed by his desire for revenge and his hatred of his own powerlessness, Chirin ultimately cannot find peace with his identity as either a wolf or a sheep. In Ringing Bell, existence is perilous, the universe is indifferent to the suffering of the innocent, and bad decisions can ruin even the main character's life irrevocably. It's a heck of a message for a children's film.
For Whom the Bell Tolls.
Ringing Bell was originally released theatrically as a double-feature with The Mouse and His Child, a 1977 animated film that was co-produced by Japan and the United States and distributed by Sanrio. Ringing Bell was also released on VHS in the United States in 1983, and the English dubbed version features such veteran voice actors as Barbara Goodson as young Chirin, Gregg Berger as adult Chirin, and Jim Cummings as Woe the Wolf.

Crunchyroll currently streams Ringing Bell in the United States, Canada, the US Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the United States Minor Outlying Islands. The film is available both in the original Japanese with English subtitles and dubbed in English.

Ringing Bell is also distributed on R1 DVD by Discotek Media, and this release includes an enlightening audio commentary by the Internet's Mike Toole (@MichaelToole), whom fans may remember from Crunchyroll's Christmas Special.
If you have the opportunity and you're in the mood to experience a slice of anime history, please check out Ringing Bell. It's a dark, powerful, and emotionally-wrenching film, and it deserves as much attention as we can give it.

Is there a series in Crunchyroll's catalog that you think needs some more love and attention? Please send in your suggestions to cruisingcrunchy@gmail.com. Your pick could inspire the next installment of “Cruising the Crunchy-Catalog”!

Tea Party Rally Speaker: You're Not Racist If You Hate Mexicans
Darylsurat"Or Muslims, because they're not a race"...is actually not wrong! They're not "racists," they are in fact "bigots" and should be identified as such.

Ed Martin, Phyllis Schlafly's spokesman, clearing up what is and what isn't considered racist in Donald Trump's Amerika. Martin spoke just before Jim Hoft, the conservative blogger The Gateway Pundit aka “The Stupidest Man on the Internet”. Martin was the former Missouri Republican Party director.
Source: St. Louis Dispatch
Ed Martin, who ran for Missouri attorney general four years ago and now is the chief spokesman and ally to conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly, said at a Tea Party rally in the St. Louis area Sunday:
"You're not racist if you don't like Mexicans. They're from a nation. If you don't think Muslims are vetted enough, because they blow things up, that's not racist."
Martin told the Post-Dispatch in a written statement that his comments regarding Mexicans were aimed only at illegal immigrants.
Regarding his comments on Muslims, he said: "My point is that it is not racist to make clear that some Muslims should not be coming to America. They are not a race but a religion and there are white, black and brown Muslims and we need to make sure that the ones who wish us ill are not allowed to enter America."

Maison Ikkoku, a classic 1986 - 1988 TV anime based on the romance manga of the same name by Rumiko Takahashi, is returning to Japanese TV in August with an HD remastered re-broadcast on Chiba TV. The series will be broadcast Monday through Friday during the 18:30 time slot (6:30 PM JST) beginning on August 29, 2016.

The Maison Ikkoku TV anime originally ran for 96 episodes on Fuji TV in 1986 - 1988. The series follows Yusaku Godai, a luckless young man who moves into a boarding house to study after failing his college entrance exams. Following the eighth volume released in May of this year, the limited edition set of the next ninth volume of Gamon Sakurai's Ajin: Demi-Human sci-fi action manga series will also include a DVD containing a newly-produced anime episode.
While the first OAD was based on the "File:00 Shinya Nakamura Incident" episode included in the manga's second tankobon volume, the second one will focus on the daily life of the main characters: Kei, Kou, Tosaki, and Shimomura at a ryokan (Japanese style hotel) that they are using as a hiding place, and Sato and Tanaka at their secret hideout. Both the limited and book-only regular edition will be available on October 7.

New "Read Or Die" Anime Being Considered
Darylsurat"after a decade" no I think they meant to say after 15 years because let's all just agree that there was no television show
After a decade, Hideyuki Kurata's R.O.D: Read or Die is back with a 12th light novel on August 25th, and, an early look is indicating that Shueisha's Super Dash Bunko is hinting that the series might be returning to anime too. A "new anime project in development?!" notice on the cover raises the possibility, while also offering the caveat that it is under consideration, according to producer of the earlier TV anime and A-1 Pictures president Tomonori Ochikoshi..
The series was previously adapted into a 2001 OVA with a 2003 TV anime follow-up.
Crunchyroll describes the latter
From bulletproof dragons to lock-picks, a paper master manipulates paper to their will. Hiroko Moriguchi Returns For First "Gundam" Theme In 25 Years for "Origin" - Part IV Gets English Subtitled Preview
After 25 years away from the series, 47-year-old singer singer Hiroko Moriguchi, who performed Zeta Gundam opening "Mizu no Hoshi e Ai wo Komete" and insert song "Gin'iro Doresu," and Mobile Suit Gundam F91 opening "Kimi no Mitsumete -The Time I'm Seeing You-" and ending "Eternal Wind ~ Hohoemi wa Hikaru Kaze no Naka" (she also did One-Punch Man's ending) is now set to return to Gundam on the fourth part of prequel Origin.
There's also a new English subtitled preview (accessible through closed captions)
"Unmei no Zenya (Fateful Eve)," will be screened at 15 selected theaters across Japan for a limited time of two weeks from November 19. Advance pay streaming for the episode will also start simultaneously.
"Unmei no Zenya" will be the final episode of the "Char and Sayla" arc, focusing on the encounter between Char Aznable and Lalah Sune on the earth, and the first mobile suit fight in human history. While Char is still voiced by Shuichi Ikeda, in place of the original cast Keiko Han, Saori Hayami (Ayase Aragaki in Oreimo, Ha-chan/Kotoha Hanami/Cure Felice in Maho Girls PreCure!) is newly cast as Lalah.
