What Does Your Favorite TV Show Say About You?
Television (and Netflix, by extension) is the greatest invention of our time. What would we do with our lives if we couldn't spend it watching other people's more interesting and scripted lives?
The great thing about television is there's a little something for everyone. Whether you're into flesh-eating zombie chases, government officials having scandalous affairs or reality shows about Jersey-residing twenty-somethings, you have an abundance of options to keep you thoroughly entertained

Blockbuster ending all in-store movie rentals on Saturday, November 9th
Tomorrow will be your very last chance to rent a movie from a Blockbuster store. After confirming the closure of its remaining stores and disc-by-mail service, Blockbuster has tweeted that Saturday, November 9th will mark the end of in-store rentals at all locations. Even after its physical presence disappears, parent company Dish will hold on to licensing rights for the Blockbuster brand and retain the company’s "significant" video library. Dish has said Blockbuster's disc-by-mail service will be shut down in December.

Chipotle's Mobile Ordering App For Android Is Now Available In All Locations, Lets You Pick Up Your Food Without Waiting In Line
There's an intense burrito-folding, salsa-serving war being waged out there between Chipotle, Moe's, Qdoba, and other purveyors of delicious tacos. Passions burn hotter than fresh chilies, and I'm not bold enough to throw my weight behind any of the involved establishments. But I will stick my neck out just enough to share that Chipotle's Mobile Ordering app is now open to all locations, and it's awesome.
No, Chipotle doesn't deliver, but the company's app still saves you the effort of standing in line, shouting your order over the sound of hungry children, and asking the server what that goopy red stuff is next to other, slightly darker, goopy red stuff.

Dwight Howard Wants To Fight In The UFC For Some Reason
So Dwight Howard was backstage at a fight card in Houston recently and he talked boisterously, before Chandler Parsons and the world, about how he'd love to fight one day and would do it for $10 million and—and, who cares, right? It's Dwight Howard. We know he'll never fight. (Even if he did, it wouldn't be the sort of bout you'd want to see, which would involve Howard going round after punishing round with someone good enough to give him a vigorous beating but not quite good enough to finish him off.)

Wonder Woman rumored to be part of Batman-Superman movie
The untitled sequel to this year's Man of Steel will feature Wonder Woman alongside Batman and Superman, according to a new report. Variety says producers are considering actresses Gal Gadot of Fast and Furious, Elodie Yung of G.I Joe Retaliation, and Olga Kurylenko of Quantum of Solace. The actress ultimately may instead be cast as a love interest for Bruce Wayne, Variety reports, but the casting description calls for an "athletic and exotic" actress that matches the description of Diana Prince's alter ego.
Due in July 2015, the sequel will star Man of Steel's Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman. According to Variety, additional members of the Justice League might appear in the film, including the Flash. Man of Steel's...

Xbox One won’t play games out of the box, requires day one patch
If you unbox and turn on an Xbox One on November 22nd, make sure you have an internet connection nearby. Microsoft has revealed that a day one patch for its upcoming next-gen console will be a requirement to play games and access basic apps on the console. "Functionally, you will be able to do very little without taking the day one update," says Microsoft’s senior director of Xbox product management Albert Penello told Engadget recently. Out of the box you can do “nothing” according to Penello. “You need the Day One update.”
The day one patch, expected to take around 15 or 20 minutes to download, will update the Xbox One to the latest dashboard operating system. Microsoft previously revealed details of the day one patch in...

Today's Google Doodle honors the birthday of Hermann Rorschach, Swiss psychoanalyst famous for developing the Rorschach inkblot test
The test is simple: individuals are shown ten inkblots, and are asked to described what they see in them. Used to detect a person's personality characteristics and emotional stability, it was very widely used in the 1960s. It is still used by psychologists today, but to a lesser extent
The Doodle on Google's homepage today offers a combination of randomly generated inkblots and ones that obviously represent an object or a figure, such as lizards, cats or garden gnomes. The latest version of the Google Keyboard — as introduced on the Nexus 5, and leaked here — has finally hit the Play Store for all Android users. The new Google Keyboard 2.0 brings lots of new enhancements, like space aware Gesture Typing, eliminating the need to lift the finger when swiping out completely sentences. Yes, this is similar to the Flow feature on SwiftKey, and from what we’ve seen, works pretty well.
The updated keyboard also does away with Android’s now old blue accents and gives users the ability to add emojis to any text, regardless of the app. Unfortunately, the expanded emojis are reserved for Android 4.4 and above, so it’s a Nexus exclusive for now. Google engineers issue 'Fuck you' to NSA over surveillance scandal
Two Google engineers recently took to Google+ to give blistering public critiques of the ongoing NSA surveillance scandal.
Both posts come in the wake of last week’s Washington Post story that outlined the NSA’s clandestine interception of Google and Yahoo user information in a project codenamed MUSCULAR, in alleged conjunction with the UK's Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ). The report, based on documents released by Edward Snowden, detailed how data is collected by the agencies, coupled with a diagram showing that now-notorious smiley face.
Brandon Downey, a security engineer with Google, was livid, going so far to say, "Fuck these guys."
I've spent the last ten years of my life trying to keep Google's users safe...
Alleged Silk Road kingpin Ross Ulbricht arrives in New York
Ross Ulbricht, the man charged with running Silk Road, an underground website where people bought and sold illegal drugs, appeared in a New York court today after being arrested in San Francisco more than a month ago.
The lanky 29 year old was wearing a brown-and-blue prison uniform and was clean-shaven and lucid when he spoke to the magistrate. He was transferred to New York City last night around 6PM and met his attorney, national security specialist Joshua Dratel, for the first time today.
Ulbricht has not seen his parents yet, Dratel says, but is "in good enough spirits for someone who has been in custody for a month."
10 Things You Didn't Know About Apple Design Chief Jony Ive
Jony Ive has a love for fast cars, but in the early 2000s, that hobby almost killed him.
After a string of early successes as Apple's design chief, Ive bought an Aston Martin D89, only to get into a car accident one month later with a member of his design team, which nearly killed them both. Apple's reaction to the event was to give Ive a "big pay raise." Apparently, the car crash served as a wake-up call about just how valuable Ive was to the company
That is one of several new details about the secretive Apple designer found in Jony Ive: The Genius Behind Apple's Greatest Products, a forthcoming book from Leander Kahney, based on research and interviews with former Apple designers and execs. The unofficial biography sheds some light on Ive's upbringing, design inspirations and occasional clashes with execs at Apple. Read more...

Don't let anyone ever tell you that your opinion isn't worth anything. In fact, your thoughts are so valuable that Google is willing to pay you for them. Users can spend Google Play credit on digital content in the Play Store, including apps, games, music, books, magazines, and videos.

The Nexus 5 launcher will NOT be available for other devices
The Nexus 5 is not just a Nexus device. According to the Search Giant, this is a Google device. It is tailored to work with Google Now and other services perfectly. It also takes advantage of the whole screen by making the notification and button bars translucent. It’s not “pure Android” and this is the first Nexus device with this characteristics.
If you like the new features and aesthetics, you may be hoping your Nexus device will get these features when KitKat arrives. Well, that is simply not the case. Google has stated that this is a Nexus 5-exclusive launcher!
Google wants to see how the public reacts to the new features and design. And of course, they want you to pick up a Nexus 5 while you are at it. Meanwhile, there are no plans to bring this specific launcher to the Nexus 4, Nexus 7 or any previous Nexus device.
Other Nexus users will still get the KitKAt update very soon, it just won’t be the translucent, Google Now-optimized one. You will get the regular one, which you can actually download now!
Now this does not mean Google has this written in stone. Google may very well change its mind at some point. We sure hope so! I enjoyed the translucent bars the LG G2 had with some apps (I wonder if LG influenced the decision to do this to the Nexus 5 bars). It really made the screen much more efficient, but it is also something you need to get used to.
I do like having the separation between the on-screen buttons and the rest of the content. It makes it clearer. I can certainly imagine a lot of non-techies trying really hard to find the buttons in the screen. What do you guys think? Are you liking the new Nexus 5 launcher? Would you like to have it?
