In 2010, Chipotle ran an ad campaign about Chipotle ad campaigns. The premise was that Chipotle's ad agency was telling the company to put its complaints about factory farming on the back burner and instead focus on its big burritos.
Like much of Chipotle's marketing, the campaign allowed the brand to have it both ways: The company would be seen as a rebel, while shoehorning in a conventional product pitch for those big burritos. A year later, with approximately $800 million in revenue, Chipotle dropped the product pitch altogether with "Back to the Start," a video that featured a farmer who rejects the increasingly industrialized nature of his profession Read more...

As we creep closer to 2014, we're also that much closer to a world where anything that happened in 1994 took place 20 years ago.
We received a lot of amazing things in '94, from classic movies like The Lion King and Forrest Gump to hit songs like Radiohead's "Creep."
Slacktory's '94 time capsule doesn't just cover the year in pop culture, it also touches on newsworthy events like Nelson Mandela's inauguration as president of South Africa
Don't think too hard about the fact that 1994 was two decades ago. Just turn up the volume and let the grunge waves take you right back. Read more...

If you've been participating in the Twitter alpha or beta programs on Android, this is really nothing new - the latest update adds new features like photos in DMs and the ability to filter your notification timeline, but otherwise, this is the same app you've been using for a while.

Mobile gaming giant Rovio has launched its latest title on Android and iOS today. Anry Birds Go is a free "kart" racer based in the Angry Birds universe, featuring feathered friends from the popular artillery shooter. If you've played Mario Kart or any similar titles you'll know what to expect here — fast-paced 3D racing with a focus on power-ups and weapons, featuring familiar characters (birds and pigs, in this case.) There's a variety of game modes to choose from besides a straight-up race to the finish, including Time Boom, Fruit Splat, Champion Chase and Mega Match.
Naturally you can also upgrade your vehicles by earning points in-game or buying them through in-app purchases — and you can add more characters to the game by capturing Rovio "Telepod" toys with your devie's camera. The base game itself, however, is completely free, and it's available now at the Google Play link above.

The monstrosity known as Godzilla is reborn in Warner Bros.'s first trailer for the modern adaptation of the movie monster that first appeared in Japanese films in the 1950s
Among the stars of this Gareth Edwards-directed Godzilla film is Breaking Bad's antihero Bryan Cranston as scientist Joe Brody, who is seen running from chaos and having an emotional breakdown in the trailer
This reboot from Warner Bros. follows the 1998 remake of the same name, which went on to gross $379 million at the worldwide box office but was panned by critics Read more...
More about Films, Entertainment, Warner Bros, Film, and VideoLG has just announced the G Pad 8.3 Google Play edition, an 8.3-inch tablet that is nearly identical to the LG G Pad 8.3 already circulating the market. The difference between that and this new Google Play edition is that this one will come with completely stock, pure Android, and should be in line to get all of the latest updates (like the newly-pushed Android 4.4.2 KitKat) ahead of pretty much everyone else.
The specs might not have changed, but here they are again if you aren’t in the know:
LG’s original advertising campaign for the device noted how they paid special, close attention to the ergonomics. Their goal was to deliver a device that was “just right” for you by striking a key balance between screen real estate and comfort. That brought us the uncommon 8.3-inch screen size you see above.
The G Pad 8.3 has been met with fairly warm reception, with most folks happy to have a no nonsense tablet that is well-built and chock full of features. There’s even less nonsense now that LG’s custom user interface won’t be getting in the way of regular Android updates.
You can find it for $350 in the Google Play Store right now.
Are you dreaming of a white Christmas? Google is too, because the company has just put up a new color option in the Google Play Store for the 2013 Nexus 7. You can get the thing in white, though note that they’re only offering it in white if you opt for the more expensive 32GB version. It’s a very nice color that has looked great on the Nexus 5 thus far, so it’s not a big surprise Google wanted to do the same for the Nexus 7.
It’s also worth noting that Google is holding a special holiday promotion for those who buy a Nexus 7 and a Chromecast together. Do that, and you could get yourself a $35 credit for use with any bit of content in the Google Play Store. That essentially gives you a free Chromecast. What’s not to like? Head over there and place your order as soon as possible, because this deal isn’t guaranteed to last long.

Usually, pranks are just for giggles, but in this case, the prankster wasn't looking for a laugh
Comedian and YouTuber Tom Mabe wanted to set his friend straight, as the latter allegedly has five DUIs. Mabe hoped an elaborate prank would be enough to scare his friend out of his bad behavior
The prank involved turning an office into a makeshift hospital room, complete with medical equipment. Mabe and his accomplices then waited for their friend to pass out in his car and brought him, without his knowledge, to the fake hospital Read more...

The Photospheres feature has been a photographic novelty thus far, but today Google Maps has added some notable functionality. The Views section of Google Maps already lets you place your own 360-degree panorama on specific points in the world, but now you can connect them via virtual paths, creating an instant, locale-specific Street View. Other users can then view it and move between multiple Photospheres for a more complete experience.

We already gave you an in-depth look at Avia, and Plex told us about their new Chromecast support. Now, Google is highlighting 8 more apps that have all gotten Chromecast support starting today. That brings us to ten new apps in all, which Google says should be enough to make sure you and your family can easily share your favorite holiday moments and memories this Christmas season. Here’s the full list after the new additions:
All you’ll need to do is be sure you’re up on the latest versions of your respective app of choice, and you should find a nice new Chromecast button that will allow you to enjoy your content on the big screen. This is just another of many reasons why Time named it their gadget of the year. You can find the full list of currently supported Chromecast apps over at Google’s landing page for the little guy. In the aftermath of a bitter ice storm, rising temperatures in North Texas have had a dangerous side effect
This YouTube clip from Nicole Jaime shows ice falling from the roof of a Plano, Texas apartment complex, damaging parked cars below. Fortunately, the sidewalks were empty when the 2-inch wide chunks fell, and cars were the only causalities.
Jaime's video isn't the only one to show this damaging side effect in action. The clip below from YouTube user juhi2445 captures ice falling from a different apartment complex in the same Dallas suburb, plummeting to the ground and covering parked cars. Read more...

Proving once again that Bitcoin is not just for illicit purchases (you can go to space with it too!), a man bought a Tesla Model S car with bitcoins. The purchase is reportedly the first Tesla, and possibly the first car ever, to be bought with the online currency.
Lamborghini Newport Beach in Southern California sold the car, the dealership announced on its blog last Wednesday, but the buyer is currently unknown.
"We just sold our very first vehicle with Bitcoin as payment," reads the blog post. "That's right, an electronic currency was used to purchase a fully electric vehicle." The dealership, which is not operated by Tesla, also announced that it would accept Bitcoin payments going forward Read more...
More about Tesla Model S, Us World, Us, World, and BitcoinTime Magazine has put out another one of their influential lists, with the outlet highlighting the top gadgets of 2013. It’s always interesting to see where different devices end up on this list. There was a time when Apple’s mobile products were automatic winners, but the tide has shifted in recent times. Folks seem to have figured out that a little company over in Mountain View is also coming up with some extraordinary gizmos and gadgets.
So who won 2013′s best gadget accolade? None other than the little HDMI key that could (also known as the Chromecast). This $35 bundle of joy enables folks to stream multimedia to their televisions in an easy-to-use, no nonsense fashion. It uses your home’s WiFi connection to set up an ad-hoc network for streaming content in ideal network conditions, giving you stutter-free HD playback from various different sources (such as HBO Go or Netflix).
It’s like Roku, except in stick form. It’s cheap, it’s easy, and it works, which would make it a very nice holiday gift for anyone looking to upgrade their home entertainment experience. While it’s not quite as open as we’d like it to be just yet, Google promises that they are working on bringing the tools that will help facilitate third-party development. You’ll find all of the details on the Chromecast in our official review, so be sure to check that out if you want to know more about what this little guy can do. Don’t forget to mingle with the rest of the Chromecast community over at AndroidForums.com.
Other big winners
Of course, the Chromecast wasn’t the only device on this 10-item list. A couple of other Android and Android-related products made the cut. The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX (check out the forums) came in at #7, with Time giving props to instant remote control support system Mayday (which they consider to be a ground-breaking feature).
At #4 was the Pebble smart watch, an e-Ink wrist dweller that can connect to your smartphone and display social updates, notifications and messages. We’ll also give a nice nod to the Nest Protect, a smoke detector and carbon monoxide monitor in one which can alert you to potential life-threatening dangers inside your home while you’re away. Here’s the full list of products which made the list:
No matter what you like and which side of the mobile wars you stand on, one thing can’t be argued: 2013 was a great year for tech. Let’s hope 2014 brings us even more innovative ideas. Let us know what you think about the list in the comments below!

A six-step guide on online forum 4chan promises to unlock backward compatibility on the Xbox One, but Microsoft warns it's a hoax that will break the new gaming console.
The graphic, which closely resembles Microsoft's marketing materials, surfaced over the weekend and instructed gamers on how to turn their consoles into developer mode, which would allow Xbox One owners to play Xbox 360 games. The offer may sound tempting, since the One isn't backward compatible and can't play any of the hundreds of Xbox 360 games, but Microsoft spokesman Larry Hryb cautioned users on Twitter not to try it

This is his immediate reaction after taking the lead against the Cowboys on a touchdown with 19 seconds left. The Sooners were strong to the finish and held on to win.

Jaguars receiver Ace Sanders threw a 21-yard strike in last night's win over the Texans, just one week after MoJo Drew threw an eight-yard touchdown in a win over the Browns. These variations on a play that, for lack of a better term, we'll call "someone who isn't the QB throws the ball" are always a treat to watch (even when run by Jacksonville), in part because it seems like they're often remarkably effective. Are they?

Travelers lost $531,395.22 worth of loose change to the TSA this year, setting a new record.
When passengers leave change in plastic bins before going through security, the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) is allowed to keep the profits. Federal law requires them to report the earnings to Congress and use the money toward additional security.
The airports that collected the most loose change were Miami and Las Vegas.
