Epic want.

HTC's One pops up on its site with unlocked SIM and bootloader for $575

Alongside its developer model, HTC now has an unlocked One for the rest of us. The fetching 4.7-inch 1080p device is in stock at HTC's US store with 32GB of storage and the same powerhouse specs we saw earlier: 1.7Ghz quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, 4-megapixel "UltraPixel" cam and Android 4.1.2 with Sense 5. You'll also get a SIM-unlocked model, but unlike the 64GB equipped, $650 developer edition, it won't come with a liberated bootloader -- though it'll cost a touch less at $575. So, if you've been biding your time for a carrier-free version of the svelte aluminum-bodied handset, you can place your order at the source.'s

Visualized Unreal Engine 4 'Infiltrator' demo gives an impressive peek at nextgen gaming

Just in case you missed it last night buried in our interview with Epic Games VP Mark Rein, the company showed off a new real-time demo at GDC 2013 this week, titled "Infiltrator." The nearly four-minute clip, showcases a sci-fi shootout created with its Unreal Engine 4, and remarkably powered by a single GeForce GTX 680. Now that we've piqued your curiosity a bit, check out this gorgeous display of futuristic espionage after the break, plus a bonus clip of the "Elemental" UE4 demo running on a PlayStation 4 dev kit in real-time.

How to Make Your Own Yogurt

by Laura Newcomer

I have a way better way.

Click here to read How to Make Your Own Yogurt Chalk this up to childhood memories best forgotten: When I was in elementary school, my classmates dubbed me Yogurt Girl. This (hopefully affectionate) title was earned thanks to my propensity for eating a fruit-on-the-bottom yogurt single every day—not just during lunch, but also during snack. Twice-a-day yogurt consumption didn't merely earn me a nickname; it also cultivated in me a lifelong love of yogurt. More »

Korg's touchpad synthesizer family gets slightly more Kaotic

by Brian Heater

Image

Korg's got the info on two new additions to its Kaoss line of X-Y interface touchpad controllers. First up is the KP3+ Dynamic Effect / Sampler, which adds 22 new effects to its predecessor's offerings, bringing that number up to 150. Also on-board are sample bank buttons for quick recording and playback, as well as features borrowed from other Korg offerings, including a ducking compressor and vinyl break, that'll simulate the sound of a record player slowing down. The $350 pad can also be used as a MIDI controller. For $50 more, you can pick up the Kaossilator Pro+ Dynamic Phase Synthesizer / Loop Recorder, which has 250 sounds, including synth leads, drums and a number of sound effects. The loop recorder banks, meanwhile, let you layer sounds one by one. Both pads are out next month. More info after the break.
