Watch this electric-powered Tesla embarass gas cars at the track
Our very own Kevin Michaluk has been having way too much fun with his brand new Tesla Model S P85. So much fun in fact, that he even found time to take it down to his local drag strip for some heads up 1/8th mile no prep drag racing.
The Tesla Model S - P85 is one INSANE ride. Beating out some high horsepower gas-powered race cars, and doing so because of the all wheel drive launch putting down all the instant power, and torque the insane mode delivers. Overall KM went 6 and 2, and were excited to see how much better he does after his Ludicrous mode upgrade gets added.

5 Incredible Storm Photographers and Their Best Images
I’ve been a landscape and travel photographer for nearly six years now. While I will always love standing in front of an amazing landscape at sunset, nothing on earth can compare to the feeling I get when standing in front of a massive supercell with 40-50mph winds at my back, watching it twist and churn, as it tries to lower itself to the ground. It’s the most intense and pure mixture of awe, fear and respect for mother nature that I’ve been able to find to this day.

I’m just now wrapping up my third season of chasing these incredible storms (you can check out some of my storm images above) and over the past three years I’ve been fortunate to meet some incredible chasers; some of whom are even better photographers. So here’s a collection of four of the best chaser photographers out there (along with a few of their best images). Be sure to check out their websites and links to see more of their amazing work!
Mike Mezeul II
Mike has become one of my best buds over the past few years, we even lead workshops around the world together now (you can find more info on that through the link to my site in my bio). He took me on my first chase and to this day I chase with him about 99% of the time. He’s been doing this stuff for upwards of 15 years now, and is just as good at putting us in position for a storm to develop, as he is at photographing them. In fact, the last time we chased we drove out to west Texas and he put us within 30 minutes of storm that exploded into a supercell.
Check out more of Mike’s work at his website and be sure to follow him on Instagram as well!

Mike Olbinski
I’ve known Mike online for about the same time as I’ve been a professional photographer. We met back in the HDR Days, and I remember being amazed when he got into storm photography. Then, one of his images of a haboob decsending on Phoenix went absolutely viral overnight and he was officially on the map as a storm photographer. But that wasn’t it, he hit gold again a couple years later with his Booker, TX timelapse which you’ve likely seen on TV and even movies. Coincidently, I just met Mike in person for the first time a few weeks ago while out chasing in west Texas. He’s an incredibly nice dude and fantastic photographer. I’ll be joining him soon to photograph Monsoon season in his home state of Arizona. Can’t wait!

“A gorgeous dust storm and low level clouds roll into downtown Phoenix on July 3rd, 2014. Always amazing to see a scene like this, but toss in a little sunset color and it blew my mind.”

“A view of the Booker, Texas supercell which was one of the most amazing sights I have ever seen. You can see the crazy timelapse of this storm below.”

“Alanreed Supercell” © Mike Olbinski
“This storm earlier spawned a brief tornado near Groom, Texas. It moved to the east/northeast across the rolling farmlands…I caught up to it once again here just north of Alanreed. The hail core and structure was magnificent to behold.”
Marko Korosec
Marko is an incredibly talented photographer and chaser from Slovenia. I was turned on to his work through a friend, and when I began scrolling through his images on 500px, my jaw began to drop lower with every image. He seems to be on just about every major photogenic storm there is, and that’s a feat in and of itself. Capturing these storms as well as he does is a whole other feat. I haven’t met Marko in person yet, but I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before we run into each other out on the road beneath a storm.
You can follow Mark on his website and 500px.

James Langford
I met James Langford out on the road during one of my first chases with Mike and have since run into him while chasing several times. James is just an all around nice dude. If he’s not chasing on his own, he’s usually “now-casting” (forecasting for a chaser from home) for someone who is. He’s got an incredible collection of storm images as well as some jaw-dropping time-lapses.
You can follow James at his website and Facebook.

“Perfect Symmetry” © James Langford
“This was captured in western Oklahoma. Experiencing the power and beauty of thunderstorms is something that is really hard to translate into images. This particular storm was one of the most beautiful I had ever seen. It moved very slowly the whole time we photographed it, and the structure and colors were incredible.”

“The Beast” © James Langford
“Capture near Piedmont, Oklahoma, this incredible storm in Central Oklahoma had hail the size of grapefruits and a small tornado around the time this image was created. I’ve never seen structure and colors quite like this and it ranks as one of my favorite images of all time.”
Kelly DeLay
I met Kelly a couple of years ago through Mike Mezeul. He had a great 2015 season capturing both the Hico supercell and the twin tornadoes in Colorado that went pretty viral. You can view more of his work at his website Clouds365.com and his 500px page.

© Kelly DeLay. Hico, TX Supercell
“Visually, has to be one of my favorite storms ever. This was a very discreet storm and as you can see the rotation was quite evident. The hail core was quite impressive as well, producing baseball sized hail that knocked out a few storm chaser’s windshields.”

© Kelly DeLay. Sister tornadoes – Simla, Colorado
“My most favorite image of my career. I did describe it as a “shot of a lifetime”. For years I wanted to capture a discreet supercell (no other storms around) with a tornado underneath. I was very surprised to see not just one, but two tornadoes both spinning in the opposite direction.”

© Kelly DeLay. Belle Fourche, South Dakota
“The lightning field was so intense preceding the core, you would see a flash nearby and immediately hear a BOOM. Thats close! Feeling a little safer near Belle Forche, South Dakota I got out and captured a few shots. Again, all you would see is a quick flash. Amazed to look at the back of my screen to see this.”

The best Windows 10 keyboard shortcuts
Windows 10 is available today as a free upgrade for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users. If you've followed our guide on how to upgrade, then you might be interested in some new keyboard shortcuts. Microsoft has introduced a variety of keyboard shortcuts to navigate between new features like virtual desktops, and even activate the new Cortana digital assistant. All the new important additions use the Windows key, so they're easy to activate. If you're a trackpad user then there's also some changes here: tapping three fingers activates Cortana (you can change this to activate Action Center), swiping three fingers up shows the new Task View, and swiping three fingers left or right tabs between apps. Here are the most important Windows 10...

How to Disable Bing Search in Windows 10's Start Menu

Windows 10: Microsoft has started rolling out its latest operating system, Windows 10. That means there’s going to be some new annoyances to fix. One of the most noticeable is Bing search results showing up in the Start Menu. If you don’t want these, here’s how to turn them off.
Unfortunately, Microsoft has bundled Bing search results together with Cortana, so you’ll lose Windows 10’s new voice assistant with this setting. If you’re okay with that, follow these steps:
- Press the Win key to open the Start Menu.
- Search for “Cortana & Search Settings” and select the option that appears.
- Disable Cortana in the first toggle in the menu.
- Once Cortana is disabled, you should see an option that reads “Search online and include web results.” Disable this toggle.
Once you’ve done this, your Start Menu should only show you results for your local machine. This should make your Start Menu a little less cluttered, as well as a little faster on some older machines.

Yelp reviewers tear apart American dentist who killed Cecil the lion
The man who paid $54,000 to kill a beloved lion in Zimbabwe was identified this week as Walter James Palmer, a dentist from Minnesota. Palmer, whose name was first reported by The Telegraph on Tuesday, traveled to Zimbabwe earlier this month, where he killed Cecil the lion with a bow and arrow after luring the animal out of a national park.
The 13-year-old lion had been part of an Oxford University study, and was one of the most popular animals at Zimbabwe's Hwange National Park. Palmer and the people he paid to organize the hunt allegedly used bait to lure Cecil outside of the park before killing, beheading, and skinning the animal.
News of Cecil's death elicited swift condemnation from conservation groups. “Actions, like these, are...
The nine most important updates in Windows 10
Windows 10 is officially out today. It’s the biggest update to Windows in years and represents a number of new directions for Microsoft’s premier software product. There are a host of new features in Windows 10, ranging from updated interfaces to new apps and services. For all of our in-depth thoughts on the new platform, be sure to check out our full review.
Perhaps the most notable thing about the new platform is that you don’t have to pay for it, so long as you already have Windows 8 or Windows 7. But if you’re looking for a reason or two to update your current Windows 8 machine or aging Windows 7 box, here...

Silicon Valley CEOs are the default movie villains of our generation
Mark Zuckerberg is the model villain of our time. Where popcorn movies of previous eras installed Nazis, Soviets, space aliens, and zombies, we get a horde of tech CEOs.
Today a press image revealed the new look of Lex Luthor in the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. In the still, one of comics' most iconic villains swaps his familiar bespoke suit for a sports jacket, T-shirt, and fitted jeans. Luthor is merely the latest troublemaker to wear the relaxed uniform and smarmy grin of startup founders. Kingsman: The Secret Service, a recent twist on the James Bond formula, featured Samuel L. Jackson as a Mark Zuckerberg-like megalomaniac with a strange lisp, an affinity for fresh baseball caps, and a plan to kill millions of...

Google will now require explicit consent for tracking European users
After a long and costly legal battle in the European Union, Google is making some changes to the way it serves ads to European users. Under a new European user consent policy published Monday, AdSense will require any site serving European users to require explicit consent before those users can be tracked. "You must use commercially reasonable efforts to disclose clearly, and obtain consent to, any data collection, sharing and usage" that results from a Google product, the new policy reads. It's a serious change from previous consent standards, which allowed for passive permissions that rendered tracking cookies effectively invisible.
"We recommend you start working on a policy-compliant user consent mechanism today," Google program...
Google Promises A Stagefright Security Update For Nexus Devices Starting Next Week
So you might have heard about the Stagefright vulnerability that was published yesterday. While there's no evidence of a widely-used hack, the potential for malicious MMS attacks via Android's built-in media handling system (which could theoretically affect the majority of Android devices currently in operation) is certainly cause for concern. As reported on our original post, Google has known about the vulnerability since April and has been working on patches to fix the problem.

The Moto G 2015 is official, available starting today for $179
At its international launch events today, Motorola has taken the wraps off the latest entry in its affordable Moto G series of phones, the 2015 Moto G. The newest Moto G is available starting today, and brings upgraded internals and a refreshed design language. It's powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor with 1 or 2 gigabytes of RAM, while both front and rear cameras have been upgraded, to 5 and 13-megapixel units respectively. The new G is also water-resistant, rated IPX7.
Moto X Style specs
Motorola threw a little bit of a curveball when refreshing its Moto X line, giving us two devices instead of one. The higher-end of the two is the Moto X Style, packing lots of high-end specs and a larger size than last year, with some subtle design changes as well. It still offers Moto Maker customization, as you'd expect, and in the U.S. it'll be available as a Pure Edition with no carrier involvement — here are its specs.
