A very belated Friends With Boys commission. This is why I don’t take commissions outside of a convention setting: it takes me forever to get to them, and I feel guilty the whole time! ;)

I decided to make something to go along with the EVA-5000 [link]

This was actually started and finished last year. After sitting in my hard drive, it was only 3 hours ago that I decided to render him.

For a long time I've been making heavy, highly-complex, and gritty 3d models that took months to make. So this time I decided to make a more simplistic and elegant robotic character inspired by the androids in Portal 2 and (you guessed it) E.V.E. from Wall-E.

Everything from concept sketch to final render was done in 4 days.

I am planning on submitting a full tutorial from concept, to initial modeling, to rigging, to refined modeling, to texturing, then finally to rendering.

I focused particularly on the elbow and knee joints when it came to rigging her. As I found out, in robotic characters, using a smaller separate bone at the elbows and knees allows for more natural behavior compared to directly linking the upper and lower bones without using the third middle bone.

Continuing in the realm of reality shifts, where characters appear in other universe or times. This time, some Avatar fun instead of HP. We'll get back to the HP world later on.

It was a comment made by DungeonWriter that sparked that silly idea - Iroh and the Boston Tea Party.
How could he let anyone do anything to precious boxes of tea!!

An important note- less anybody gets offended by the word "savages", I'm pretty sure Iroh would use that word on any person, no matter their origins, skin colour or ethnicity that would spoil tea in such quantity!
