I Love These Goddamn Stock Video Baboons and So Will You

by Andy Cush

A solid meme for a Friday afternoon: Stock footage of baboons doing human things, paired with silly one-liner captions. They talk on the phone, they throw their computers, they gaze dewy-eyed into the distance and softly smack their lips in resignation. I love these goddamn baboons, and I can’t wait to share them with you.

This Cat Is Still Alive, Which Is Worth Acknowledging

by Kelly Conaboy
Darendukes

Just turned 26 years old. Damn!

An old cat—can you imagine? Little glasses. Sitting in a chair while he reads a book. You see him in a bar having a drink by himself and it makes you sad for a minute, rudely—probably he isn’t even sad. Congratulations to Corduroy, the oldest living cat.

Chris Farley Is Still Getting The Last Laugh

by Leslie Horn on The Concourse, shared by Hudson Hongo to Gawker
Darendukes

I want to see this documentary.
Trailer on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dqwQ600J7g

There’s an obscure 1994 Saturday Night Live sketch called “Pepper Boy” that at least one friend of Chris Farley’s now uses to explain the late comedian’s incredible talent. He didn’t have a huge part in that episode—apparently, he was too busy filming Tommy Boy. The laughs in this particular bit were supposed to go to Adam Sandler’s hapless, overly sensual pepper-grinding waiter, but then Chris shows up with a ridiculously large beard, croaks out two quick lines with such a huge and perfect delivery that Sandler almost cracks, and steals the whole sketch. That’s the kind of performer he was: powerful, committed, and the center of attention even when he wasn’t trying to be.

by Hudson Hongo

Seriously? You set your entire country's time back to 30 mins behind Japan & South Korea? Why?

“The wicked Japanese imperialists committed such unpardonable crimes as depriving Korea of even its standard time while mercilessly trampling down its land with 5,000 year-long history and culture,” said North Korean state news on Friday, announcing the country’s new “Pyongyang time” zone.

Someone Actually Played Through All of Fallout 3 As A Baby

by Patricia Hernandez

Years ago, Fallout fans discovered that it was possible to escape the opening area of Fallout 3 at the start of the game, thus allowing players to go through a game as a baby. It was a fun trick, sure, but it seemed untenable for an entire game...until now.

Good God, David Lynch Can Even Make the Alphabet Terrifying

by Lauren Davis

Long before he was bending our brains with feature films like Eraserhead and Blue Velvet, David Lynch made short films, which, in true Lynchian fashion, often turned the mundane into the unnerving. In 1968, Lynch released The Alphabet, a film that makes learning your letters nightmarish.

How To Transfer Xbox 360 Saves to Xbox One

by Stephen Totilo

The belated introduction of backwards compatibility to the Xbox One won’t just allow you to play Xbox 360 games on Microsoft’s newer console. It’ll allow you to use your old save files, too.

To get that feature to work, you’ll have to transfer your 360 saves to the cloud. It’s easy, so long as so you still have access to those saves on an Xbox 360.

It’s also something more and more gamers will be doing as Xbox 360 classics including several remakes of Rare games and the entire slate of Gears of War games become available to play on Xbox One, with many more to follow when the feature launches for all Xbox One users in November .

A few preliminary things to note:

Nolan North replacing Peter Dinklage in Destiny

by Jordan Devore
Darendukes

Huh?

Prolific voice actor Nolan North (Uncharted's Nathan Drake) is becoming the Ghost in Destiny, reports Game Informer. He'll voice the AI companion in The Taken King and, no joke, the original game too -- the dialogue is being re-recorded for consistency. Talk about the nuclear option.

"North echoes some of the cadences and quirks established by the character's original voice actor, but his line delivery is hard to immediately connect to his familiar heroic tone," according to the site.

If players end up disliking this new take on the character, Bungie can give Troy Baker a call next.

Years Later, ZombiU Is Hitting PS4, Xbox One, And PC

by Patrick Klepek
Darendukes

So I bought and played this on the WiiU. It was a great game. And the whole no pausing while going through your backpack(inventory) made it more intense.
One complaint (kinda) was that when you actually died, you woke up as a new person in the safe house, would have to make it back to your old dead self, kill him/her, then recover your items from them. Hint: use the storage locker in the safehouse. I got more than halfway through it before I got distracted by something else.
10/10 would play.
Also, aiming the sniper rifles or crossbows using the WiiU Gamepad was pretty damn cool.

There have been rumors of Ubisoft porting the excellent Wii U launch title ZombiU to other platforms for a while, but now it’s official: Zombi (no more u!) arrives digitally on August 18.

Shared just because of this:
"Under EU rules prices can be varied according to nationality if there are objective reasons, such as different market conditions, seasonal fluctuations in demand or different holiday periods."
Dude, the EU sucks.

The French can have a reputation for being, how do you say, less-than-hospitable to les foreigners. The French at Disneyland Paris are, authorities say, even worse: they’ve allegedly been charging foreigners as much as double the ticket price for the privilege of touring Cinderella’s chateau.
