Marvel Studios' Original Iron Man Armor Appears to Have Been Stolen

by Charles Pulliam-Moore

We live in an age where pretty much anyone can walk into the closest big box store and come out with the basic materials needed to put together some respectable Iron Man cosplay, but for at least one person, it appears a homemade plastic suit of armor just wasn’t going to be enough. They wanted the real deal.

Woman Finally Films The Mysterious ‘Lover’ That Has Been Bringing Her Flowers, And It’s Not What She Expected

by Rokas L
Darendukes

o i wanna pet that kitty

Who doesn’t like getting flowers? Regularly? From a secret admirer? That’s a classic recipe for getting through the day, no doubt. When Rosie from the UK noticed pink flowers regularly appearing on her terrace, she had no clue who had been behind them. One day, however, the cat was let out of the bag.

It was Willow, her neighbors’ kitty! “For a while, it was just a legend that it was her until yesterday when I was cooking and spotted her jumping down with a pink flower in her mouth,” Rosie told Love Meow. “I was so excited that I went to film it because she’s so cute and I’d never seen a cat ever bring back anything but dead animals before.”

Willow loves everyone, and everyone loves Willow. She frequently visits people from all over the area and in return they give the kitty treats and pets. Sometimes, even a spot on their couch!

(h/t lovemeow)

This is what the owner of this lawn, Rosie, sees almost every day

A romantic gesture of a neighbor cat, Willow, who always shows up with pink flowers in her mouth

“We live on a street of terraced houses that backs onto another street of terraced houses with a kind of garden corridor between”

“Willow rules over about six of the gardens, and I’m pretty sure she gets fed by everyone because she’s very difficult to say no to”

“For a while, It was just a legend that it was her until yesterday when I was cooking and spotted her jumping down with a pink flower in her mouth”

“I’d never seen a cat ever bring back anything but dead animals before”

“She clearly likes us because she steals flowers from (her owners) and leaves them on our deck”

The lovely kitty has been visiting Rosie since she moved into the house

And since early spring, the flowers have been coming

“It was at least ten flowers before we realized it was her”

These romantic gestures have earned a special place in Rosie’s heart

And Willow has become a frequent visitor in her house

Who could say no to such a cutie?

Maybe Willow is thinking about becoming a full-time gardener?

Teen Takes Selfies Every Day For 8 Years, Shows How Subtle Changes Creates A Big Difference At The End

by Hidreley
Darendukes

Started when she was 14. And a boy.

We never stop changing and this 22-year-old woman can look through her changes over the last 8 years as she took a self-portrait every day since she was 14 years old.

Eadington is a design student from Kansas, currently living in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. At the age of 14 she decided to take a picture every day and a few years ago she released her first timelapse, showing how much she grew over 6 years. “I saw a few similar projects on the internet and thought it could be interesting to see how I changed as I grew up too,” Eadington told Bored Panda. Maintaining a project this big has its difficulties though. “The most challenging part is maybe aligning the eyes for the video.”

Now, 8 years since starting, her timelapse gain some traction and the video, showing hundreds of images in over 3 minutes, gained almost 250k views in less than a week.

Take a look at the video below and check out how this young lady changed in 8 years.

T-Mobile and Sprint agree to merge, create giant to rival AT&T and Verizon

by Jon Brodkin

Wow. T-Mobile has come a long way from being the carrier most associated with strippers who don't pay their bills on time. Kudos.

Enlarge (credit: T-Mobile)

T-Mobile USA and Sprint today announced an agreement to merge, a deal that would combine the US mobile industry's third and fourth biggest carriers to create a giant nearly as large as AT&T or Verizon Wireless. The all-stock merger deal would have T-Mobile acquire Sprint for $26 billion worth of stock, according to Reuters.

"The combined company will be named T-Mobile, and it will be a force for positive change in the US wireless, video, and broadband industries," the companies' announcement said.

But the deal will reduce competition, leaving the US with three major nationwide wireless carriers instead of four. The companies abandoned a merger attempt in 2014 when it became clear that Obama administration regulators wouldn't allow it.

Hellboy Board Game Makes A Million Dollars On Kickstarter Launch Day

by JLister
Darendukes

pieces look cool as hell

A Hellboy board game has made a million dollars in pre-orders before the first day of its Kickstarter campaign. It equates to more than 8,000 sales at the time of writing.

The game is based on the graphic novels rather than the movie adaptations. It’s a co-op for one to four players, controlling Hellboy, Abe, Liz and Johann. In the game:

You become a member of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defence (BPRD), ready to investigate occult threats that threaten our very existence. You will explore gothic locations, hunt down clues, discover artefacts, fight horrific creatures and face off against terrifying bosses.

The core of the game involves investigating a scene to learn more about the mission’s end boss. Spending more time investigating ups the chances of victory in the final battle, though it will also increase the risk of the end monster increasing its strength or the game hitting its time limit on the “Impending Doom” track. There’ll also be minion battles along the way.

The final battle involves the characters using custom colored dice, unleashing special abilities and having the option to team up to combine powers.

The game certainly isn’t lacking on the component front with all manner of cubes, cards and tokens. The base game will retail for £70 (around US$96) and includes indivual figures for the player characters plus three bosses (giant frog monster, Rasputin and tentacle monster) and 18 minion figures made up of five different designs.

For the Kickstarter campaign, however, you can only buy a complete pack that includes the base game, two expansions, a graphic novel (in digital form), an exclusive alternate figure for Hellboy (with horns) and a set of additional minion figures that’s rapidly growing as stretch goals get added. At the time of writing, buyers will get more than 100 figures in total covering more than 30 characters and minion/monster/nazi designs.

This Man Quit His Aeronautical Job To Travel The World And Here Is How His Notebooks Look Like

by Andželika
Darendukes

those things are gorgeous

Even today, a lot of people carry around notebooks filled with daily reminders, significant dates, thoughts, and other important information. But there’s an artist who uses notebooks to make amazing art.

Jose Naranja creates breath-taking and well-thought-out notebooks from scratch. They are filled with astonishing hand-drawn illustrations and notes. His notebooks are mesmerizing works of art, made using watercolors, fountain pens, elements of photography, stamps, writing, and drawings.

For many years Jose was an aeronautic engineer, but later he decided to devote his life to art and traveling. His passion for notebook art developed in 2005 when he discovered Moleskine pocket journals. It may be hard to believe, but Jose has never taken any drawing or art classes, but his skills are flawless. He already filled in around 12 notebooks. Not long ago the artist began binding his own notebooks to make them even more personal.

In case you feel like holding one in your hands and flipping through the pages, the artist provides an opportunity to buy his notebooks, so don’t forget to check out his shop. As for now scroll down to admire these fascinating handcrafted notebooks.

As PUBG-like contenders emerge, Islands of Nyne might already have them beat

by Sam Machkovech
Darendukes

Look at the gallery pictures. This game looks great.

Islands of Nyne originally launched in a limited, closed-alpha state. Over the weekend, it officially launched via Steam Early Access, so we are updating our April report with impressions of what you can expect from the $24.99 game on Windows 10.

Call it a trend, if not an outright phenomenon. Battle royale games have officially catapulted into the industry's pole position, largely fueled by the neck-and-neck popularity contest between PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) and Fortnite: Battle Royale. And over the past few months, we have learned that even more of these games will likely show up by year's end, with announcements attached to major series like Call of Duty and Battlefield.

The news follows plenty of latecomers to the battle royale genre, which all have a few things in common. Roughly 100 players parachute onto an island with the goal of being the last shooter standing, and that contest is made all the more tense by random-item pickups and a constantly shrinking battlefield.

Extinction review: Shadow of the colossal disappointment

by Ars Staff
Darendukes

You were right about this one. Even the trailer is laughably bad. It is absolutely the story from Attack on Titan.

Enlarge / The towering Ravenii are impressive to look at, less so to fight. (credit: Iron Galaxy Studios)

At my most reductive, I’d call Extinction one long string of escort missions. The game struggles and claws to add more variety, in small ways, but it never shakes up or fleshes out its core rhythm enough to justify a full game. Instead, it feels like a frustrating proof of concept, unworthy of its evocative title.

Backing up a bit, Extinction is an action-platformer clearly influenced by Shadow of the Colossus, Devil May Cry, and especially the anime Attack on Titan. A medieval-fantasy world—of which we only catch shallow glimpses—is under siege by towering, teleporting ogres called “Ravenii” who can topple whole cities with ease. You play as a bland meatbrain who, as we learn through a handful of barely animated 2D cutscenes, is also a magical warrior called a Sentinel. The title grants him enough parkour powers to run up the speechless invaders and lop their heads off.

And lop heads he does. Constantly. Head lopping is pretty much Extinction’s only neat trick, though even that novelty crumbles faster than the settlements you’re meant to protect. It doesn’t take long at all to figure out how sloppy the process really is.

Off with their heads

You can’t just kill one of the Ravenii, for instance. First, you need to charge up a decapitating strike. That means bounding around the city, killing largely meaningless lesser monsters by mashing the square button or standing next to large crystals long enough to teleport handfuls of civilians to safety. This is where the “escort” elements kick in. Besides needing to complete a given objective before the ogres destroy too much of each city, you want to protect civilians from the man-sized goblins. That way you can bank them for killing blows later on.

CliffyB’s Radical Heights is a new low for cashing in on the PUBG craze

by Sam Machkovech
Darendukes

Wow, Cliffy B...

Enlarge / How "X-treme" is this game's "Early Access" period? Quite. (credit: Boss Key Productions)

For all the flak and attention Cliff "CliffyB" Bleszinski has garnered over the years, the developer has always at least put his name behind solid video games. His most recent self-admitted financial failure, Lawbreakers, at least did a fine job carrying Bleszinski's old-school, Unreal Tournament torch, in spite of its issues with difficulty curve and generic art.

But Bleszinski and his current studio, Boss Key Productions, made a sharp turn last week in pronouncing the figurative death of Lawbreakers while simultaneously hinting at a new project. Turns out, that new project was precisely the thing that crowded out Lawbreakers' continued development, and the game maker only waited four days to announce its new focus: Radical Heights, an '80s-themed PUBG clone.

Boss Key's Monday announcement included a promise that Radical Heights would enter "Xtreme" Early Access the following day, so we decided to wait and give the game a whirl before making any assumptions. It sure looked like a bandwagon cash-in, after all, but maybe it'd come with some CliffyB magic.

Doctors shocked by 3.5-inch air bubble where part of man’s brain should be

by Beth Mole

An 84-year-old man in Ireland stunned doctors when scans revealed that he seemed to be missing a large chunk of his brain. Instead of brain tissue, the doctors found a 9cm (~3.5 inch) pressurized pocket of air where much of his right frontal lobe ought to be. The doctors reported the discovery recently in BMJ Case Reports.

The empty head space was particularly surprising because the man arrived in the emergency department with afflictions otherwise common for his age. He had been complaining to his regular doctor about repeated falls and feeling unsteady in recent months. When the man added left-sided arm and leg weakness to the list of complaints, his doctor advised him to go to the emergency room, fearing a possible stroke.
