LG Enact Now Available On Verizon: $20 On-Contract For A Budget QWERTY Slider

by Jeremiah Rice

enact-learn-featuresThe QWERTY-equipped smartphone is a dying breed. The LG Enact is the only one running Android that has come to Verizon all year, and it's not exactly looking to set the world on fire. After a pair of leaks, it's now available on Big Red for $19.99 with a two-year contract or $349.99 unsubsidized.

What can twenty bucks get you? Aside from the slide-out keyboard, you get a 4-inch, 800x480 LCD screen, a 1.2Ghz dual-core Snapdragon 400 CPU, 8GB of storage plus whatever you put in the MicroSD card, a 5MP rear camera, and a skinned version of Android 4.1.

Acer Announces The Liquid S1 – A 5.7-Inch Mid-Range Smartphone With Almost-Stock Android And No LTE

by Ryan Whitwam

s1Remember when phones were getting smaller? Ah, those were the days. Acer just announced the Liquid S1 at Computex in Taipei, and it's got a massive 5.7-inch screen. It doesn't quite have the high-end specs of some other giant phones, but this device could appeal to a niche consumer.

The Liquid S1 is a 720p device, despite the screen being on the large side. As such, it won't be as crisp as some other devices. Inside, the S1 has a Mediatek quad-core 1.5GHz processor, which is a budget-oriented ARM chip. There is only 1GB of RAM and no LTE radio. It does, however, have dual SIM slots.
