Benjamin Shine is a British artist who specialises in using the folds of fabric to create detailed human figures and faces. We’ve featured some of his incredible celebrity fabric portraits in the past, but his latest series of artworks is even more impressive.

Called The Dance, Shine’s latest exhibit is on display at the Canberra Centre in Australia. It consists of two realistic human faces – one male and one female – constructed from over 2,000 meters of tulle. Surrounding the two faces are a series of dancing figures, silhouetted within the flowing fabric.

At first glance, the tulle sheets in Shine’s work seem haphazardly suspended, but he actually spent two-and-a-half months painstakingly folding, pleating, ironing and hand-sewing the netted fabric. He kept at it until each lifelike feature emerged out of the clouds of pink, purple, and blue. He later created contrasts using backlight, to highlight intricate details.

After the leak of a bunch of short within the past week we had an idea what was coming, but with the shorts being in Spanish it was a little hard to tell what was going on. Now short number two has been released on Youtube!

There is no doubt about it, ponies are all over the gaming industry. It may have died down a bit over the years, but we still regularly see references to them all over the place, especially in the indie scene. It's not often the big companies show something like this off though. The Ubisoft building in Quebec has Dashie joining some of gamings biggest icons.

Now we just need more awesome things like that Trixie keychain in Watchdogs. Top reference!

It’s bad enough that Christians are sending Bibles to Iraqis who are starving and homeless and Hindus who are suffering in a heat wave.

Now, a group called The Voice of the Martyrs is doing something even worse to “help” people in North Korea.

They’re going to drop Bibles in the country via balloons… even though they’re fully aware that citizens could be killed for owning one:

“In North Korea, even children are aware of the risks of possessing a Bible. Even socks, clothes or food are dangerous. People who pick up a Bible know their choice is very risky, they could probably end up being executed,” said the Rev. Eric Foley, CEO of VOM Korea to NK News, explaining the dangers of owning a Bible in the Communist state.

Here’s a thought: If you want to help people in North Korea, don’t send them an object that will get them executed!

I understand that there is legitimate Christian persecution in the country. But sending bibles would clearly do more harm than good, even from a Christian perspective. Yet all Foley is talking about is the cool technology they have at their disposal:

One difference this year is unlike past balloon distributions, VOM has a computer app to track where the Bibles will land in North Korea.

[Said Foley:] “Our field tests to date have proven the app to be astonishingly accurate in its predictions when compared to the GPS data we receive from actual launches.”

Great. That’ll help you find the bodies…

If people find the Bible and are eventually willing to die for it, that’s their decision. My worry is that these books-from-above will fall into the hands of those who want nothing to do with it. If they’re caught, it’s not like they’ll have a chance to tell their side of the story. North Korea isn’t known for its justice system.

This is pure selfishness on the part of VOM. They’re so intent on getting Bibles into the hands of people who don’t have access to them, they’re willing to sacrifice innocent North Koreans to impress their donors. Even if that’s not their intention, that’s what’s going to happen. Unbelievable.

Thanks to Hungarian artist Bence Agoston, drug-induced hallucinations can now be an everyday experience. His 3D-printed sunglasses can simulate a visual replica of an LSD trip!

You don’t need a prescription to get these special glasses, only an appetite for the bizarre. Aptly named ‘Mood’, the glasses are made from 3D-printed frames fitted with six different patterned lenses that can be layered in different ways. Each lens has a unique Moiré pattern that filters red, green, or blue light. You’ve got to rotate them – kind of like an optometry device – in order to create different patterns.

The residents of Buffalo, New York, are baffled by a 12-ft pile of snow that hasn’t melted in eight months. The giant pile, located near Central Terminal on the Queen City’s east side, has been around since the ‘Snowvember’ storm last year, and seems unaffected by the summer heat.

According to New York state climatologist Mark Wysocki, the “original problem started back in November.” After the storm, city workers had no place to put all the excess snow so they decided to dump it in a vacant lot. Then they used bulldozers to flatten and compact the pile. By doing that, they created insulation, effectively producing a very slowly melting snow pile.

“It’s not unprecedented, but it’s weird when you think about it,” said Storm Team 2 meteorologist Patrick Hammer. “That pile of snow is like a glacier. It’s very dense and it’s covered in dirt and garbage, which acts to insulate the snow from the sun’s rays. That’s what melts the snow, not just the heat but the sun’s rays, and it’s protected.”

Technically, Sunset Shimmer here is a pony. She may not look like it, but she totally is. There are all sorts of interesting cross-species debates that can go with that kind of transformation, along with pony Twilight and her sudden interest in a a monkey with blue hair, but that's not what this covers! We should totally dive into that some day though... it would be interesting.

ANYWAY, there is probably another Sunset Shimmer out there wandering around as a legit human. Will we ever see her? Where is she? What do you think?

Slugs are not what you’d normally call “cute” creatures, but the Jorunna Parva species is an exception. These marine slugs bear a striking resemblance to small rabbits, which has recently earned them the nickname ‘sea bunnies’.

Jorunna parva slugs were discovered by Japanese malacologist Kikutaro Baba in 1938, but the rest of the world has only become aware of their irresistible cuteness last year, when footage from a Japanese diving school was released online. The clip, featuring parva off the coast of Japan, has gone viral on the internet and people all over the world are going ga-ga over the adorable underwater creatures.

Hackers have proven that you can play DOOM on ink jet printers, ATMs, or just about any device with a CPU and a screen, but here is one you might have never seen before: playing DOOM inside of DOOM!

YouTube user TheZombieKiller has uploaded a video of a recent DOOM mod which allows just that. Prepare to feel a little queasy. Our nameless space marine walks up to a customized terminal in the game’s engine, and what appears on the screen when he activates it? Naturally, a copy of the actual DOOM!

What happens though if you run the mod inside the mod? That would make an infinite loop in which the DOOM marine would be doomed to forever turn on the blue screen. Oh, my head hurts. What if you die in the mod while playing a version of the real game in the mod? Does your modded player die for real, or just in the game? I’m so confused!

It’s a nice a little trick, but I’ll be more impressed when someone out there can get DOOM running in LOOM. Who doesn’t want to see Bobbin Threadbare go to town with the BFG?

A peculiar outdoor bookstore recently opened in Nanjing, China. There is no cashier desk and no working staff to keep an eye on the books. Instead, visitors are invited to peruse the reading material on offer and pay whatever they want for books by dropping the money in a lock-box.

Organizers say the aptly named Honesty Bookstore is a social experiment meant to raise awareness of honesty and integrity. Believe it or not, so far, people have been doing the right thing. With no staff around, there is absolutely nothing stopping people from just taking the books they like and leaving without paying anything for them. Well, nothing but their conscience, that is. According to several news reports from China, people have actually been dropping money inside the box of their own free will, and Honesty Bookstore organizers claim that the raised money is enough to cover costs.

Hey everyone!

This is Moondancer! I made her a little while after the episode where she was featured in but then i didnt have time to finish her off until now .

Moondancer have been one of my favorite characters since G1, hence why i decided to have her as "normal" without the hairstyle and clothing she had in the show. Also, she has her red eyebrows, but you cant see them unless you move her forelock a bit (more pictures will show this in her auction link wich i will put up later).
Also, i just love the "misfit" characters of FIM , or usually atleast ^^

She was made using minky fabric for her body, faux fur for her mane/tail/forelock , machine embroidery eyes, handembroideried unicorn "swirls", Fabric iron on glittery cutiemark.
