Less than a week! I can taste the new season already!

Pinkie Pie was right there with Rarity in my early on "Ponies that will drive me nuts" impression of the show. The loud squealy voice had me turning the volume down while I snuck pony episodes in the middle of the night. Party of One was my big changing point for her. That episode was so beyond what I expected from a show about happy go lucky cartoon ponies.

Ever since then, Pinkie Pie has both annoyed the hell out of me, and entertained me endlessly. I think that's her point. She's built to be loud and screechingly obnoxious, but she grows on you. The only time I relapsed was during the Cake twins episode. The combination of hyperactive squealy Pinkie with crying babies was too much! TOO MUCH I SAY! I've only watched that episode once, and have no desire to watch it again.

In the end, Pinkie Pie rocks it, and the Smile song is still one of my favorites.

8 MORE DAYS. It's almost over! So close!

I've given Skittles here a whole bunch of crap over the years, but it's only because I love her. Or maybe I'm just jealous. Check out how well she rocks that mane and tail. If I was a pony, I'd want to be Skittles.

There was a point in time where she fell from the best pony charts back during season two. A string of episodes showing her darker sides didn't help her image much.  She came back with a vengeance in season four though. I can't wait for her season 5 episodes. She has some of my favorites now days.

Scientists in Ecuador have discovered a new species of frog that is able to morph the texture of its skin – from spiny to smooth – within a matter of minutes. Aptly named ‘mutable rain frog’, the tiny, finger-nail sized creature is the first shape-shifting amphibian to ever be found.

According to a Livescience report, the mutable frogs were found in Reserva Las Gralarias, a protected cloud reserve forest on the western slopes of Ecuador’s Andes Mountains. The incredible discovery is credited to biologist Katherine Kryna and naturalist Tim Krynak, who have spent the past decade combing the reserve for rare frog species.

The duo first spotted the frog in 2006, when they had captured it on camera. On closer inspection of the photograph, they realised that it could be a new species. The frog’s spiny-textured skin stood out, so they started calling it ‘punk rocker’. “It wasn’t until we saw the amazing texture of its skin that we thought, ‘wow, this is something different,’” said Katherine.

 Five days?! I'm buried in 24/7 entertainment and the wait is still killing me!

Today we Fluttershy. Just look at that pony. The paragon of adorableness. From day ome she was loved thanks to her hyper-moe introduction when meeting Twilight Sparkle for the first time. While the other characters have their semi-obnoxious faults, Fluttershy is just shy. Who could hate on that?

And so, we celebrate the cutest pony. May she wear socks, sweaters, and bunny ears while drinking out of a juicebox for years to come.
