New WWE Network Television Commercial (Video), Book on Former Cruiserweight Champion in the Works

Thank goodness my Billy Kidman isn't this Billy Kidman but it is great that this Billy Kidman is getting acknowledged for being a Billy Kidman.

New WWE Network TV Spot

WWE has released the following television spot for the upcoming WWE Network:

Billy Kidman: The Shooting Star

The following is a press release on an upcoming book by L. Anne Carrington, detailing the life and career of former WWE and WCW Cruiserweight Champion Billy Kidman.

Feb. 5, 2014 – PITTSBURGH – Author L. Anne Carrington dared to be different when she burst on the literary scene in 2010 with The Cruiserweight, her first wrestling-based novel in a four-part series. The Cruiserweight Series’ third book, Klass Act, was named 2013 Sport Book of the Year by Turning the Pages Books.

Ms. Carrington takes her interest in sports entertainment further with Billy Kidman: The Shooting Star,an unauthorized nonfiction account of the former cruiserweight star soon to be released by Florida-based independent publisher Palm Tree Books.

“Palm Tree Books is proud to be part of this upcoming project,” said founding publisher Donovan Rutherford. “We aim to publish books that suit a variety of readers’ interests. The market for sports entertainment topics still remains virtually untapped, and L. Anne Carrington’s new book could be a key factor in filling that void.”

Ms. Carrington elaborated on what inspired her to write Billy Kidman: The Shooting Star. “I’ve read several sites and message boards geared toward past wrestling stars basically asking the same question: ‘Whatever happened to that guy [Kidman]?’ I found an earlier book about him online last summer, but its contents only covered his career up to 2000 or 2001. I did additional research between finishing other projects and uncovered lesser-known information alongside what is already common knowledge.”

Billy Kidman: The Shooting Star covers Kidman’s early days in his native Allentown, PA, respective stints as a cruiserweight wrestler with East Coast independent wrestling federations, the now-defunct World Championship Wrestling (WCW), World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), American and overseas promotions following his WWE career, working as a wrestler and trainer for the former Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), and his status as of early 2014. The book also features bonus pages of titles held, additional reading, and links to related web sites.

Billy Kidman: The Shooting Star will be available for sale March/April 2014 in both paperback and ebook formats.

Chinese Woman Spends 11 Years Knitting Her Husband a Coat and Hat Out of Her Own Hair

by Sumitra
Lrbever

Isn't this nice?

Xiang Renxian, a 60-year-old retired schoolteacher from Chongqing, China, has spent the last 11 years weaving a coat and a hat out of her own hair for her husband. She had started collecting strands of her hair as they naturally fell out since she was 34.

“Throughout my youth I was always famous for my wonderful long hair, and as I grew older I realized that, just like my looks, my hair was losing its luster,” she said. “Many people envied my long, shiny black hair so I wanted to keep them, even the dropped threads.”

For a long time, Xiang just collected her hair but had no idea what to do with it. It was only in 2003 that she decided to weave it into clothing. “I wanted to find a way to preserve that, and came up with the idea of using it to create something for my husband. It took a while to perfect the techniques, it was only when I was 49 that I started to work on this project. Once I got into the technique that I developed, it was actually not difficult to do, you just need patience and I knew that I had the time.”

Long Live Harrmione!

Lrbever

Hmmmm... interesting.

Long Live Harrmione!

Have you heard? In a recent interview with Wonderland magazine, JK Rowling said she regrets putting Hermione and Ron together in the end:

I wrote the Hermione-Ron relationship as a form of wish fulfilment. That's how it was conceived, really.

For reasons that have very little to do with literature and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron.

I know, I'm sorry, I can hear the rage and fury it might cause some fans, but if I'm absolutely honest, distance has given me perspective on that. It was a choice I made for very personal reasons, not for reasons of credibility.

Does this change your ship? Who do you ship with Hermione Granger?

Who do you ship?

Are you worried about getting old? No need to fret—according to scientists, time is actually an illusion

Lrbever

Woooooo!

Are you worried about getting old? No need to fret—according to scientists, time is actually an illusion

Physics is a field of study full of vastly confusing information. Some of this information, while scientifically provable, conflicts directly with our perception of reality. One theory, known as the Wave-particle duality of light, declares that light is both waves and particles at the same time. The concept, which dates back to the 17th century, is still as confounding for the man in the street today as it was back then.

It seems physicists have now done it again by suggesting that time does not actually exist. Patently, to human beings, time definitely exists. We wake in the morning, move through our day over a period of time and arrive back home at some point later. The old adage of “time waits for no man” seems to hold true. Or does it?

The trouble all started when Einstein's Theory of General Relativity, a theory that governs the physics of large scale, clashed with Quantum Physics, the field of study that attempts to describe the world of the tiny. This is where the Wave-particle duality first became verifiable. Physicists have for years being trying to unite these two competing areas of study by searching for a Grand Unification Equation, believing that things on both the large and small scale should ultimately be related.

A little over 40 years ago, two leading physicists, John Wheeler and Bryce DeWitt developed such an equation. However, it was immediately very contentious since, by working through the equation, the concept of time is removed. The equation, while tying up many loose ends, effectively proved that time did not exist at the most fundamental level of matter.

While the concept is baffling, it seems the physics may be correct, and what we perceive as “time” is really a measurable effect due to the motion of the large scale world around us. As one digs deeper and deeper into the small scale world of atoms, protons and quantums, the concept of time becomes less relevant.

This thinking is summed up well by the National Institute of Standards and Technology. The NIST is the guardian of the national atomic clock that provides the standard reference for all other clocks. The clock guardians claim that their clock does not measure time at all. Time is defined by the ticks of their clock, and is essentially a human creation allowing us to create order in our otherwise chaotic lives.

Physics would appear to agree with them.
