Dear Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C.,
LrbeverThis is why we can never forget.
Thank you for giving my family the closure we have been waiting for, for nearly half a century. You gave family members who were murdered by nazis a voice. You gave my grandfather a voice as well. Thanks to you I finally know where I came from. My mom now knows what her family looked like. You never know how amazing such a simple thing can be until you see what's it's like without that.
Sincerely, proud granddaughter of a holocaust survivor

School Bans MLP Backpack
LrbeverThis kid was told to leave his My Little Pony bag at home by his school because "it's a trigger for bullying" and that school sucks for it. I also hate Glenn Beck, but at least he's right on this.
School admins decide it's too hard to resolve and regulate bullies, shames and punishes abused student. Even Glenn Beck is supporting the 9-year-old.

Believe It or Not the Scariest Mouth in the World Belongs to a Species of Turtle
LrbeverGood thing it isn't that :O DAAYYMMNN turtle.
Here’s one species of turtle you don’t want to kiss. Believe me, the Leatherback Sea Turtle might look adorable and harmless, but lurking behind its cute face is a set of killer teeth, making its mouth one of the scariest in the world.. Hundreds of these jagged stalactite-like teeth called ‘papillae’ line the turtle’s mouth and esophagus, all the way down to the gut. You just have to see it to believe it.
The Leatherback is the third largest living reptile in the world, and also the largest turtle. It’s actually a pretty docile creature, with a diet mainly consisting of jellyfish. In fact, the only reason it gets so huge is because it eats an astonishingly large number of the slow-moving jellies. Sometimes, the leatherback can consume about 73 percent of its own body weight in a single day, which is about 16,000 calories and three to seven times more than it needs to survive. Talk about binge eating!
I'll have you know, I have the relfexes of a cat and the speed of a mongoose.

Man, mad at Internet seller, texts him Shakespeare (all of it)
LrbeverLOL
He wrote a lot.
(Credit: Bio/YouTube screenshot by Chris Matyszczyk/CNET)Getting mad occasionally results in getting even, but often only in getting madder.
Ultimately, the whole point of revenge isn't even to get even at all. It's to feel that you have.
Edd Joseph needed to feel better about an internet transaction. As the Bristol Post declaims it, he bought a PS3 online for 80 British pounds (around $132) on the Gumtree site and the transaction went perfectly.
Except for the tiny detail that he didn't receive his PS3.
This he deemed an arrow of outrageous fortune. So he mulled and cogitated and pondered and thought therefore of revenge and ceased to weep. (Oh, it's "Henry VI," if you must know).
The 24-year-old Joseph fell upon the realization that you can copy and paste things from the Web and send them as texts.
He told the Post: "It got me thinking, 'what can I send to him,' which turned to 'what is a really long book,' which ended with me sending him 'Macbeth.'"
Joseph was mad because he knew he couldn't get his money back. He'd paid by bank transfer (which is against Gumtree's terms and conditions.)
On the other hand, he had an iPhone. He realized that with just one pressing of "send" he could text a whole play to his alleged scoundrel.
So he cried havoc and let slip the dogs of war. One text for him was 792 texts for the receiving party.
This was quite some dagger he saw before him. For he had an unlimited text plan, to complement his need to inflict pain. Why not send all Shakespeare's works?
More Technically Incorrect
- Glasshole heaven: Hotel offers free drink if you wear Glass
- This is how much you get on Google's nerves
- Your new disease, America: Compulsive gadget-hoarding
- How to spy on your lover, the smartphone way
- Courtney Love: I may have found missing Malaysian plane
Not all Shakespeare plays are the same length. "Hamlet" is the longest. Yes, that one would have amounted to 1,143 texts at the receiver's end. In total, Joseph hopes to complete his task of sending all Shakespeare's plays, which ought to result in 29,305 texts.(He says he's already sent 22 plays.)
You might wonder whether the alleged bad guy responded.
Joseph said: "I got the first reply after an hour, and then a few more abusive messages after that. His phone must have been going off pretty constantly for hours."
This is not deterring Joseph.
"I'm going to keep doing it. If nothing else I'm sharing a little bit of culture with someone who probably doesn't have much experience of it," he explained.
There's one small part I don't quite grasp. If this story is as Joseph describes, why doesn't the seller just block his number?
Perhaps he's afraid that parting will be sweet sorrow.

Reading My Body
Abstract sound instrument from vtol reads tattoos as sheet music - video embedded below:
а sound controller that uses tattoo as a music score
this is a special instrument that combines human body and robotic system into a single entity that is designed to automate creative process in an attempt to represent the artist and his instrument as a creative hybrid. The device consists of a railing with comfortable hand holders and two parallel, but offset from each other black lines’ sensors that move along the arm using a stepper motor. It is equipped with a 3-dimensional Wii remote controller that uses the OSC protocol in order to give a possibility of additional expression achieved by moving hand in space.

The Year of Luigi games that weren’t from Nintendo ⊟ Some...
LrbeverWeegee's year is over. :(

The Year of Luigi games that weren’t from Nintendo ⊟
Some of the neatest Luigi games that released last year were ROM hacks of NES titles released by fans! Sure, there’s already a Dr. Luigi game on the Wii U eShop, but I like that this version from Shugo notes it’s a “Year of Luigi” edition on the title screen.
And while Super Luigi Bros. isn’t played in reverse like the identically titled, official hack included with NES Remix 2, it features “30” blocks to celebrate the green guy’s birthday, similar to what we saw in Nintendo’s 25th Anniversary Super Mario Bros. hack.
And then there’s Luigi Bros., a Donkey Kong hack where Luigi has to save his brother, and Luigi dropped into Konami’s platformer Moai Kun — I cheated on that one because it released in 2012, but it’s worth checking out anyway.
The Year of Luigi officially ends today, according to Nintendo. Why not celebrate it by playing some of these hacks?
