Amazon's drug dealer scale
Dan JonesIn case you were wondering what the preferred digital scale is for drug dealers.

If you buy this digital scale on Amazon, the site assumes you might be a drug dealer. Nestled among the calibration weights listed in the Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought section are tobacco pipe screens, rolling papers, powders for cutting drugs (I assume), zipper bags of all sizes (including some decorated with golden skulls), empty pill capsules, and even a Dr Pepper can safe.
See also the mega-packs of whipped cream chargers which are frequently purchased with balloons for the purpose of getting high. (via mr)

Top 5 Bromances in Disney
|
Article by: Rogue Benjamin Geek Girl Northern Belle wrote this list of her top 5 bromances in Disney... |
1. Timon & Pumbaa

The number one Disney bromance everyone is familiar with ? Timon and Pumbaa. These two, voiced by Nathan Lane and Ernie Sabella respectively, stole the screen in Disney?s The Lion King. As far as we know Timon and Pumbaa have been friends their whole lives and with a catchy number like Hakuna Matata and their friends for life attitude it isn?t hard to see why they are at the top of the list.

2. Basil of Baker Street & Dr. David Dawson

For those unfamiliar with these characters they hail from the 1986 classic The Great Mouse Detective. Essentially Sherlock Holmes with mice these two characters meet as adults when a peculiar case comes their way. Bonding over the course of the movie, their bromance is not really solidified till the end. After all it takes awhile to get used to Basil?s crazy nature as any Sherlock fan might know. Fortunately after some sleuthing, near death experiences and of course dressing up as pirates these two become the best of chums.

3. Todd and Copper

Perhaps the most tragic bromance in the Disney world Todd and Copper broke hearts in Disney?s The Fox and the Hound. A story of forbidden friendship and prejudice these two delight in each other?s company unaware of the societal boundaries around them. This movie unlike the afore mentioned films really tugged on heart strings with a roller coaster ride of a relationship between the two. A brilliant metaphor for standing up to society it taught us that standing up for what is right and defending those we love is never wrong.

4. Miguel & Tulio

As con artists the bar isn?t set particularly high for Miguel and Tulio but in this quest for gold, of course we learn the real gold is the relationships we have. Voiced Kenneth Branagh and Kevin Kline one can see the actor?s natural wit and humour in the banter between these characters. A balanced team of a thinker and a doer, they have no difficulty getting themselves into loads of trouble. Their bromance, like so many before them is tested by not only a woman, but riches beyond their wildest dreams ? yet in the end they remain ever the dynamic duo.

5. Kuzco & Pacha

Last on this list is the reluctant bromance of Kuzco and Pacha. Their story begins with Kuzco not only ignoring Pacha but preparing to destroy his entire life, for the sake of a summer home. In a classic story of the arrogant royal learning from the poor peasant, Pacha still decides to help the Emperor. Of course after many trials and tribulations and of course a spot of drag these two are as chummy as the rest of this list.

...What other Disney bromances do you remember?

Dan JonesThis creeps me out.
Let's get right to it. This is a real photo of a real human being:

It hasn't been dramatically retouched or anything. Valeria Lukyanova has made herself into a human Barbie doll.
Her brand-new hair extensions, the color of Chardonnay, hang straight down, reaching her nonexistent hips. Her mouth is frozen in a vacant half-smile; the teeth are small and almost translucent. She's holding a handbag shaped like a lantern. A one-eyed smiling-skull pin perches on her sky blue top, pushed to the side by the veritable shelf of silicone around which her whole body seems arranged. In the flesh -- the little of it that she hasn't whittled away with what she says is exercise and diet -- Valeria looks almost exactly like Barbie. There might be some Loretta Lux-style postproduction to her photos, sure, but it's not crucial. This is live. This is happening.
She's also a recent convert to breatharianism (living exclusively on a diet of air), feels that humans are less beautiful now because of "race-mixing", and gets her nails painted with "a fractal pattern from the twenty-first dimension" that came to her in a dream. There is also a human Ken doll, Justin Jedlica, who has achieved his look through more than 100 plastic surgeries:

But there's a problem. Ken doen't like Barbie.

I don't really get her. I don't get why people think she's so interesting. She has extensions. She wears stage makeup. She's an illusionist. You've certainly had more surgeries. What's your favorite one?
My baby is my shoulders, because nobody has anything like them. I divided these so there's six pieces-front, middle, and back. Just like the actual anatomy.
UPS trucks don't turn left
Well, they do sometimes but not very often. Left turns cross traffic, which wastes time and causes accidents. So UPS routes are designed with mostly right turns...three rights make a left, you know.
UPS engineers found that left-hand turns were a major drag on efficiency. Turning against traffic resulted in long waits in left-hand turn lanes that wasted time and fuel, and it also led to a disproportionate number of accidents. By mapping out routes that involved "a series of right-hand loops," UPS improved profits and safety while touting their catchy, environmentally friendly policy.
I wonder though, does this make the drivers unhappy?

Chromecast Photowall
Dan JonesPretty cool idea for a big event
"Setting up a Photowall is easy. You'll need to have a Chromecast plugged into your TV, then you can create a Photowall from your laptop, phone or tablet. Once you're set up, you and your friends can start sending photos directly to the big screen. When you're finished, a YouTube video of your Photowall is automatically generated, which is perfect for sharing with everyone who took part," explains Google. Photowall works even if you don't have a Chromecast: it will use your computer screen.

Google also developed apps for Android and iOS. You can also upload photos from your favorite mobile browser by visiting g.co/photowall. Google even lets you tweak the photo before sending it to the TV: you can crop it, add captions and draw using the "doodle" feature.

The Office Time Machine
Joe Sabia has built The Office Time Machine, which is a collection of video clips of every single cultural reference ever made in The Office, organized by year. For example, here is 1994:
Sabia built it to highlight how much artists and creators borrow from culture:
The Office is relatable (and hilarious) because it borrows so much from culture, and people get the references. Culture is society's collected knowledge, art, and customs. It's what surrounds us and unites us, and it allows us to collectively laugh at a joke in The Office about Ben Franklin or M. Night Shyamalan. Culture, simply put, is the seasoning in a meal.
