Game of Thrones: Sansa's Secret Letter Translated by Fan

by Terri Schwartz

Spoilers for Game of Thrones continue below.

There are two big questions surrounding Sansa Stark's actions at the end of "The Broken Man." First: what did she write in that letter? Second: who did she send the letter to?

While we still don't know the answer to the latter question, one eagle-eyed Game of Thrones fan seems to have puzzled out the first. Savvy Redditor CreepyPancakes zoomed, screenshotted and analyzed the sequence where Sansa wrote her letter, and seems to have figured out most of what she wrote.

Here's the legible text, as posted on Imgur (via io9): "

Cody Rhodes' Release a Symptom of WWE's Struggle to Book Midcard

by Ryan Dilbert

Cody Rhodes knows firsthand that when WWE juggles its roster of Superstars, hugely talented wrestlers are sure to drop to the floor.

Midcard grapplers are often forced to warm the bench, the company offering them no rivals, no ideas, no follow-through. While not everyone on the roster can be in contention for the world title, WWE needs to make better use of its ensemble cast through subplots and side stories.

Otherwise, there will be more frustrated men like Rhodes who say that a steady paycheck isn't a good enough reason to stick around.

Just before Extreme Rules arrived, Rhodes asked for his release from the company. According to WWE.com, it granted him his request. The former intercontinental champion then made a statement on Twitter to explain his reasons for leaving:

Among the most notable lines in Rhodes' message was, "I felt like I had a bag of those brass rings and when it came time for me to cash them in, I find I can't do so."

That's a clear reference to Vince McMahon's comments in an interview with Steve Austin two years ago where the chairman said of today's roster, "I don't think they necessarily want to reach for that brass ring."

It's hard, though, to reach for said ring while standing backstage as Raw unfolds. It's a struggle to garner momentum when rivalries fizzle out before their climaxes.

And as talented as Rhodes is, it was odd to see WWE keep pushing him to the back burner. Busted Open Radio host Dave Lagreca nailed it with his comments on the company's overlooking Rhodes:

When Rhodes shifted into the Stardust character, a play on his brother's Goldust act, expectations were low. But a superb acting job by the second-generation star made it work. He was a bizarre madman, a supervillain covered in glitter, and it was tremendous at times.

Too often, though, WWE snuffed out lit sticks of dynamite before they could explode.

It never fully invested in his feud with Goldust. The two battled just once on PPV in a bout that ended in a roll-up. There was too little escalation of that story afterward. Instead, The Prince of Dark Matter slid over to the IC title picture with no resolution to the brother-versus-brother clash.

WWE later scripted awkward encounters between Stardust and Titus O'Neil in which the powerhouse would invade the odd Superstar's world and interrupt his promos.

Their subsequent matches were short and inconsequential. It seemed as if WWE stopped making an effort after the initial idea of their backstage interaction.

The Cosmic Wasteland was among the biggest missed opportunities in Rhodes' run. After the company had Stardust align with and lead The Ascension, it failed to build on their union.

The trio didn't engage in any feuds. They didn't have any narratives to work with other than observing Cesaro from a distance for a spell. They had exactly zero pay-per-view matches as a unit, according to   CageMatch.net.

Instead, the villainous group was asked to rant about Batman Day.

Stardust's crew dissolved after accomplishing nothing memorable. That is too often the story with groups and angles that WWE cooks up, from Slater Gator to the mystery attack on Natalya.

Rhodes had fans chanting, "Cody's mustache!" and trying to antagonize him by calling out his real name. He stirred up enough online animosity with actor Stephen Amell to get folks psyched about a match between them. According to his exit statement, he said he pitched a number of ideas to WWE Creative, only to be ignored.

He seemed to be doing everything he could to gain some traction, and it didn't really go anywhere.

It didn't matter that he had transformed what could have been a bomb of a gimmick into enthralling theater. It didn't matter that he was masterful as a man unclear that he was playing a role, his Stardust persona enveloping his true identity. WWE just didn't find a cut of the stage for him to stand on.

The story of his unraveling as he reverted back to Cody never happened. The same goes for a sustained rivalry with his brother and an actual endgame for The Cosmic Wasteland.

And he is far from alone.

Damien Sandow ended his WWE tenure after seeing several angles simply not get off the ground. Wade Barrett and Ryback have had recent gripes with booking. It's not coincidence that both decided not to renew their contracts this year.

The folks at Voices of Wrestling pointed out how there seems to be frustration among the Superstars:

That will only get worse without a more balanced approach to booking. Considering how much programming WWE produces each week, it's baffling that so many talents go unseen for so long.

Sasha Banks has simply been shelved since WrestleMania. Braun Strowman and Erick Rowan disappeared without explanation after Bray Wyatt's injury. O'Neil returned only to remain in apparent obscurity.

WWE is at its best when each member of the circus has a part, when it finds space for all the talent it employs. Even low-profile storylines can be ways to showcase these Superstars. Small parts can evolve into larger ones.

Midcard atrophy will only lead to untapped potential and wrestlers walking away from the business.
