… plus-size designer Anna Scholz.
As Marie explained so eloquently in this post, the plus-size market now encompasses many levels of price, value, and quality. Anna’s designs are definitely on the high end of price – prices range from $200 for tops to $500 and up for dresses and jackets – but they also hang out at the high end of quality, and are beloved by bloggers and celebs alike. Many of these clothes are made from gorgeous materials – lots of silk, including double-knit silks – and utilize gorgeous prints and vibrant colors. If her main line’s prices take your breath away, take a peek at her collection for Simply Be, which is in the $65 – $200 range. Check the sale section for some great markdowns, too – lots of stuff is 75% off or more.
Here are a few of my faves from the main line, to give you a taste for the Anna Scholz aesthetic. (Many are on sale, so stock is woefully low …)
Double Silk Back Cut-Out Dress – $169.23
The first Scholz piece that caught my eye was this print-blocked dress that Kellie rocked, and this gorgeous silk version is just as fun. Wear it on its own now, or add a cardigan or blazer and a sharp pair of boots to take it into fall.
Cotton Sateen Crop Trousers – $61.24
This print is marvelously rich and sophisticated. These on-trend floral crops could be dressed down with denim or up with something diaphanous or sparkly.
Print Crepe Stud Shirt Dress – $385.20
Not only does this gorgeous dress feature BATS in its print, but it also has some subtle studs near the shoulders and matching gunmetal grommets on the self-belt. So fun. I love it with these sheer tights, but it would also look smashing with black opaques and boots.
Silk Crepe de Chine Elliptical Tunic – $149.89
Scholz does do some solids, but her prints are so gorgeous I just can’t resist them. This tunic features the same print as the maxi dress shown up top, which is just as lush and energetic as it can be. Would look dynamite with denim, too.

Local boutique Bombshell carries this line, if any of you Twin Cities folks are interested in checking out some garments in person. She really is one of the top high-end designers of plus-sized garments, and one to watch … even if it is from afar!
