Superheroes Then & Now
Superheroes are awesome, but they are not invulnerable to the economy and inflation. Some things go much more expensive throughout all these years. For example, the Batmobile in 1939 would cost just $600, while the cost in 2013 would jump to $18 million. Emil Lendof put together some really cool infographics showing the price of being a superhero now comparing with their origins, including Superman, Batman, Spider-man, Hulk and Wolverine
Got the opportunity to work on the layout of text and graphics on these Superhero infographics for Mashable, sponsored by Samsung. The illustrations were done by Bob Al-Greene (@bobalgreene with art direction from Nina Frazier (@ninafrazier).

‘Recycle’ Logo Gets Alternative New Looks
The “recycling” logo—commonly seen as three arrows chasing each other—has become so ubiquitous, as it’s commonly used on products, that we fail to notice it anymore.
To prove that logos we see everyday don’t necessarily have to become ‘the same boring sign’, global company Sappi has teamed up with VSA Partners to create a series of new “Please Recycle” logos.
The 18 alternative logos are cleverly designed to be eye-catching, and are sure to pique any typography and logo aficionado’s interest.
The “Please Recycle” alternatives can be downloaded and placed on recyclable printed materials.

Surreal Paintings Depict Distant Future Of Earth Attacked By UFOs
‘Things From Space’ is a whimsical yet surreal, oil-on-canvas series by California-based artist Mark Bryan.
In his paintings, Bryan imagines a distant and dystopian future, where a technologically-advanced earth gets attacked by aliens and UFOs—Bambi gets abducted as a “collector’s item”, the Mona Lisa gets a futuristic update, and a vineyard gets destroyed to leave humanity the last bottle of wine of its kind.

Artist Illustrates Her Travels Around The US In Sketchbooks
Most people take pictures to document their travels, but for Washington-based artist Chandler O’Leary, she illustrates them instead.
For the past several years, O’Leary has been traveling around the US—recording her travels in sketchbooks.
Using nothing but watercolors and pens, she beautifully illustrates the different places that she visits.
According to O’Leary, she said that she preferred drawing over taking pictures because it forces her to “really look” at what she sees before her.
“I might not get to every single landmark by choosing the slow road this way, but the memories of my travels are crystal-clear, even many years later,” she wrote. “This way, I’m relying on my eye, rather than the lens, to do all the seeing: what I lose in breadth I gain in depth.”
