Earlier this summer Austin-based photographer Emily Blincoe created this comprehensive series of various candy organized by color called her Sugar Series. Such a great mix of common and nostalgic sweets. And … white underpants on a stick. You can see these and many additional objects organized by shape or color in her Colors Organized Neatly set on Flickr. You can also follow her adventures over on Instagram.

Kerby Rosanes Transforms Moleskin Notebooks Into Explosions Of Dragons And Doodles [Art]

by Lauren Davis
kerbyrosanes.deviantart.com

Kerby Rosanes is a doodler in the best sense of the word. His notebooks and sketchbooks burst with swords, lizards, tendrils, clouds, squid, airships and homunculi—a bizarre mashup of the natural and the surreal, the adorable and the macabre. And while the pieces tend to be similar in style, each one comes with its own surprises.

If you like Rosanes’ work, head over to his Tumblr and deviantART gallery, where you can see them at higher resolutions. He also sells his inky designs through Society6.

21 Vintage Political Posters from Cuba

by 50 Watts
Cuban OSPAAAL posters from the archives of Michael Tyler, a collector from Bath, EnglandMike has a number of duplicates to offer in exchange for a few elusive posters he's trying to find. You can reach him at m_w_tyler [at] hotmail [dot] com 1969, poster by Rafael Zarsa, Day of Solidarity with the People of Laos From the collection of Michael Tyler From wikipedia:The Organization of Solidarity with the People of Asia, Africa and Latin America (Organización de Solidaridad con los Pueblos de Asia, África y América Latina), abbreviated as OSPAAAL, is a Cuban political movement with the stated purpose of fighting globalisation, imperialism, neoliberalism and defending human rights. [...] From its foundation until the mid-1980s, OSPAAAL produced brightly coloured propaganda posters promoting their cause, however, financial difficulty and ink shortages forced the organization to stop producing these posters. However, in 2000, these posters began to be printed again. These posters, as they intended to be internationalist, usually had their message written in Spanish, English, French, and Arabic. As opposed to being put up on walls around Cuba, these posters were instead folded up and stapled into copies of Tricontinental, so that they could be distributed internationally. This allowed OSPAAAL to send its message to its subscribers around the world. 1969, poster by Faustino Perez, Day of Solidarity with Venezuela From the collection of Michael Tyler 1968, poster by Faustino Perez, Day of Solidarity with the People of Palestine From the collection of Michael Tyler 1970, poster by René Mederos, Day of solidarity with the struggle of the people of South Africa From the collection of Michael Tyler 1975, poster by Lazaro Abreu, Queens House of Detention From the collection of Michael Tyler 1971, poster by Ernesto Padron, Together with Vietnam From the collection of Michael Tyler 1968, poster by Daysi Garcia, Day of Solidarity with the Afro American People From the collection of Michael Tyler 1970, poster by Alfredo Rostgaard, Santo Domingo 1965 From the collection of Michael Tyler 1969, poster by Guilermo Menendez, Day of solidarity with the Japanese People From the collection of Michael Tyler 1970, poster by Faustino Pérez, Day of solidarity with Zimbabwe From the collection of Michael Tyler 1970, poster by Lazaro Abreu, Day of solidarity with the Arab Peoples of Syria From the collection of Michael Tyler 1968, poster by Alfredo Rostgaard, Democracy Representative From the collection of Michael Tyler 1968, poster by Alfredo Rostgaard, Tricontinental Conference 3rd Anniversary From the collection of Michael Tyler 1969, poster by Daysi Garcia, Day of solidarity with Angola From the collection of Michael Tyler 1971, poster by Alfredo Rostgaard, Sekou Toure From the collection of Michael Tyler 1978, poster by Olivio Martinez, Day of the Heroic Guerilla From the collection of Michael Tyler 1970, poster by Asela Perez, Solidarity with Latin America From the collection of Michael Tyler 1968, poster by Berta Abelenda, Day of Solidarity with Palestine From the collection of Michael Tyler 1969, designer unknown, For an Independant South Yemen From the collection of Michael Tyler 1970, poster by Lazaro Abreu, Day of world solidarity with the people of so-called Portuguese Guinea and Cape Verde From the collection of Michael Tyler 1972, poster by Alfredo Rostgaard, Nixon From the collection of Michael Tyler 1972, poster by Alfredo Rostgaard, Nixon (unfolded) From the collection of Michael Tyler

Mirror City: A Kaleidoscopic Timelapse of Chicago, San Francisco, San Diego, Vegas and L.A. timelapse San Francisco San Diego Los Angeles Las Vegas Chicago

Mirror City is the latest video from photographer and filmmaker Michael Shainblum that takes time-lapse footage of Chicago, San Francisco, San Diego, Las Vegas and Los Angeles and runs it through a constantly shifting kaleidoscopic pattern of mirrors. Shainblum says of the piece took about four months to edit and adds:

These clips were all processed from their original form, into the kaleidoscopic visuals that you see in this video. Many people visit these large cities every day, and all of these places have been shot and filmed, but I wanted to emulate these urban landscapes in a way that nobody has even seen before. I wanted to put man-made geometric shapes, mixed with elements of color and movement to create less of a structured video, and more of a plethora of visual stimulation.

And a plethora of visual stimulation it is indeed. The fun part for me was trying to recognize all of the different cities as the patterns become more abstract and chaotic. Amazing editing. I definitely suggest watching it full-screen with HD turned on. (via vimeo)

Currently touring several cities in the U.S., The Happy Show by graphic designer Stefan Sagmeister, blurs the boundaries between art and graphic design with a great mix of installations, imaginative typographical displays, and interactive artworks. The large exhibition is punctuated with social data gathered from Harvard psychologists Daniel Gilbert and Steven Pinker, anthropologist Donald Symons, psychologist Jonathan Haidt, as well as several prominent historians. There’s also free gum! And candy! And giant inflatable monkeys! The Happy Show is currently on view at the Chicago Cultural Center through September 23rd, 2013. I’ve been twice now, and you should go too. Images above courtesy Stefan Sagmeister.

Confira a série.

FRITEM AS ANAS!

A missão é simples e gorda: fritar a Ana Maria!

Massinha pronta, now it’s time to

Hora do show, chama a Ana no camarim dela pois é hora de fritar.

Curtiu? Dá 1 pasadinia no facebãk mandar 1 bejão pro Zuckerbérgue.

Cachoeiras coloridas

by noreply@blogger.com (ANDRÉ Montejorge)
"Superexpostamente legaus"! Link para a fonte

Montagens no metrô

by noreply@blogger.com (ANDRÉ Montejorge)
"Misturadamente legaus"! Link da fonte

Taxidermias que não deram certo

by Fabricio Teixeira

by Valerie Scavone

The giant golden-crowned flying fox (Acerodon jubatus), also known as the golden-capped fruit bat, is a rare megabat  and one of the largest bats in the world. The species is endangered and is currently facing the possibility of extinction because of poaching and forest destruction. It is endemic to forests in the Philippines.

D is for Dying

by Holly Hibner

The Mime Alphabet Book
Gaslorowicz
1974

This is a picture book for young children learning the alphabet.  As you read through, the left page is the letter and a word spelled out, then on the right page is a picture of a mime acting out the word.  Cute.

Except… the words they chose are not child-friendly at all!  What ever happened to “a is for apple” and “d is for dog?” Good grief, they’ve got a for astonishment, d for dying, g for guilty, m for miraculous; very few of the letters are kid-friendly at all.  My personal favorite is x.  Scroll down to see the brilliant word they assigned to x.

Plus, there’s the mime situation.  Mary loves a good mime.  She calls them “the other clowns.”

Enjoy!

Holly

Well, THAT’S not scary.

How does this stance mean “guilty”??

Xeno-what??  This book is for very young children! Like, toddlers!!
