In November, we announced that Safe Browsing would protect you from social engineering attacks - deceptive tactics that try to trick you into doing something dangerous, like installing unwanted software or revealing your personal information (for example, passwords, phone numbers, or credit cards). You may have encountered social engineering in a deceptive download button, or an image ad that falsely claims your system is out of date. Today, we’re expanding Safe Browsing protection to protect you from such deceptive embedded content, like social engineering ads.

• Pretend to act, or look and feel, like a trusted entity — like your own device or browser, or the website itself. 
• Try to trick you into doing something you’d only do for a trusted entity — like sharing a password or calling tech support.

Just last week, some returned LDS missionaries who are students at BYU posted a video parody of Adele’s song “Hello” set to a theme of Mormon missionaries sharing the gospel. Yesterday, the video Adele “Hello” Mormon Missionary Parody Video passed one million views.

BYU students Marcus Joseph and Korey Smith wrote, produced, and directed the video. Parker Cressman is the lead singer in the video. The other missionary in the video is Conner Hein. The missionaries in the video are not current missionaries, but have previously served LDS missions.

• Marcus Joseph is a music video director and music producer from Northern Virginia.
• Korey Smith is a Hurdler on the BYU track team from Roseburg, Oregon, majoring in urban planning. He also hosts live events & parties in Provo, Utah.
• Parker Cressman is a clinical research assistant and was previously on the BYU track team.
• Conner Hein is a student at BYU.

Quickly, the video gained attention on local news and even got international attention. There is also a version of the video with Spanish subtitles.

Trimming one’s nose hair is a resoundingly lame and yet thoroughly essential part of being an adult. Luckily for us Fred & Friends has made the process more amusing with this trimmer, which is modeled after classic ray-gun designs.

For the past several years, LDS Maps (maps.lds.org) has helped leaders and members find a variety of Church locations, facilities, boundaries, and members. In an effort to simplify and focus on the most frequently used features, the Church has introduced two new applications: Find a Meetinghouse or Ward and Ward Map.

Find a Meetinghouse or Ward lets you search for a meetinghouse by specifying a combination of location, language, ward type, or sacrament meeting time. Learn more.

Ward Map

Ward Map lets members see where other members of their ward and stake live, get driving directions, and narrow their search for a member by entering a partial home address, household name, or Church calling. This function requires you to log in with your LDS Account to identify your ward. Learn more.

Important Action Item for Clerks

In order for the Ward Map to work properly, ward clerks should make sure that member household locations are identified accurately on the map. Learn more

When Adolf Hitler reawakens at the site of his former bunker 70 years later, he's mistaken for a brilliant comedian and becomes a media phenomenon.

All the Ms. Pacs out there will melt in your arms when they get a look at your new arcade on a suit. I can just hear the exchange the must have led to the creation of Darwins Beard Catcher:

Man: Time to trim Junior!

Man's Wife / Girlfriend: Ugh, great! Now I'll be cleaning beard hair [or if she's particularly chippy, face pubes] off the counter and floor...and my makeup bag and my socks and my toothbrush for the next week!

Man: Yeah, but think of the sexy beast you'll get to be seen with in return.

Man's Wife / Girlfriend: Ugh! Can you at least try, like, put a modicum of effort into sweeping that crap up and washing out the sink when you're finished?

Man: I like my essence to spread. It marks my territory.

And so, Darwins Beard Catcher was born. Put on the nylon cape...backwards...and then stick its two suction cups to the mirror. All beard and mustache grooming clippings will fall into its hammock of tidiness for easy disposal in the trash when you're done.

In addition to significant other nagging, Darwins Beard Catcher also averts face trimming drain clogs.
