‘Last Starfighter’ Director Nick Castle Tells Us Sequel Idea That Died; Still Wants to Be Involved in Revival

by Fred Topel
Emahlstadt

Aw yiss

The Last Starfighter was set to be return long before the recent wave of ‘80s movie and TV show reboots and sequels. It was set up at Relativity, but rights issues killed the project even before Relativity itself filed for bankruptcy. Now director Nick Castle tells us what that sequel could have been, while giving an interview for the new 4K reissue of the original Halloween.

“This was 10 years ago or more, maybe 12 years ago,” Castle said. “I think it was 2005 and it was going to be at that point a 30 year, 35 year sequel. It was literally a sequel where Lance [Guest] and Catherine Marie [Stewart], the leads were going to come back as parents. We had a fun script so I’m not sure right now where Jonathan [Betuel] is going to take it. He has a partner named Gary Whitta who wrote Rogue One so he’s in good company there. Hopefully, they’ll mount something fun and we’ll see our characters again.”

That decade of development hell puts 34 years between the original Last Starfighter and now. Let’s hope Betuel still has roles for Guest and Stewart, but it sounds like a complete rewrite is in the works. Castle hopes to get involved in any way he can behind the scenes.

“Now just this last year, the writer has retained the rights legally now,” Castle said. “So he’s going to go out a second time around and get this thing done. I won’t be a part of it as a director. Hopefully, I’ll help out in the background but we’d love to do that. It’s so ready. The ‘80s, of course, are being mined by everything. It’s like the last thing that has not gotten remade or had a sequel. I’d love to see that continue on.”

Guest starred as a video game champion who got recruited to fly an actual starship in an alien battle. The movie was groundbreaking for its use of CGI in the space battle sequences, techniques which have long since been perfected and become de rigueur for any Star Trek or Star Wars movie.

“Those were real baby steps back then,” Castle said. “It was impressive, that’s for sure, because no one really had done that It looks so dated now. I look back and I cringe. The work that can be done now, it’s ubiquitous. You do it, it’s so well done, the artists are amazing. When we did it it was all research and development that went on at the same time as we were doing the movie. It certainly was, from a historical point of view, an important movie in that sense. Now, of course, that won’t be the issue. It will be using technology that everyone’s familiar with.”

Mattel’s Next Level New ‘Jurassic World’ Toy Is a High Tech, Remote Control Velociraptor You Can Actually Train

by John Squires
Emahlstadt

what a time to be alive #wattba

There are currently countless Jurassic World toys lining store shelves, but we can guarantee that none of them are as must-own as Mattel’s upcoming “Alpha Training Blue,” an interactive dinosaur that allows you to play the role of Owen Grady and train your own pet Velociraptor!

Based on Velociraptor Blue, a fan-favorite character from Jurassic World, this fully interactive toy is operated with a remote control just like Owen’s clicker in the movie. With incredibly lifelike movement, Alpha Training Blue moves, blinks, roars, chomps and responds to your commands. With 4 modes of exciting play: Training Mode, Guard Mode, RC Mode, and Total Control Mode, you can learn to be an expert dinosaur trainer.

Learn and Level Up in Training Mode

“Training Mode teaches you how to control your dinosaur using the accelerometer-equipped controller that allows Blue to mimic movement. Give treats, reward Blue by petting her, and move her using responsive motion commands. As you train, you will unlock levels and her behavior improves.”

Protect Your Space in Guard Mode

“Guard Mode allows you set Blue in a location and monitor movement. If any ‘prey’ gets within a foot of her motion sensors, the controller will vibrate. You can then issue appropriate commands to warn intruders.”

Control Her Movement in RC Mode

“RC Mode uses the joystick portion of the controller to move around. Like a vehicle, you can control Blue to move forward, backward and side to side.”

Bring Blue to Life Using Total Control

“In Total Control Mode, you control your Blue’s movements, from her eyes and mouth to her head, you decide how she comes to life.”

This incredible toy is selling for $249.99, set to arrive on October 1.

looking forward to watching this again

Get more family drama and even more of an angry Toni Collette in this exclusive look at one of nine deleted scenes from Hereditary, arriving on 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack (plus Blu-ray and Digital), Blu-ray Combo Pack (plus DVD and Digital), and DVD September 4 from Lionsgate.

While the film in itself is the only reason you need to pick up a copy, the 4k/Blu-ray/DVD releases all include deleted scenes. As you may recall, director Ari Aster revealed a 3-hour long cutwhich won’t be included, but at least we’ll get to see some of the footage – nine scenes to be exact. Also included are both the “Cursed: The True Nature of Hereditary” Featurette and “Evil in Miniature” Photo Gallery.

When Ellen, the matriarch of the Graham family, passes away, her daughter’s family begins to unravel cryptic and increasingly terrifying secrets about their ancestry. The more they discover, the more they find themselves trying to outrun the sinister fate they seem to have inherited. Making his feature debut, writer-director Ari Aster unleashes a nightmare vision of a domestic breakdown that exhibits the craft and precision of a nascent auteur, transforming a familial tragedy into something ominous and deeply disquieting, and pushing the horror movie into chilling new terrain with its shattering portrait of heritage gone to hell.

Texas Pregamer: Maryland

by Kyle Carpenter
Emahlstadt

it is time

Texas is Back! (At least from a Pregame perspective)

Hoooooboy! [stretches arms exaggeratedly over head, yawns an uncomfortable length of time]. Texas Football and, more importantly, the Texas Pregamer are back! This is the 7th season (that’s like 49 in blog years) of this esteemed internet publication. We started with the Tech game back in 2012 and Texas has gone a perfectly balanced 34-34 since.

Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

It’s been a truly Homeric epic - you have the Errrbodys and the 5-7s. You experienced the “Texas is back, Folks!” and you have read the “Texas is back, lol”s. We’ve witnessed Mack Brown challenging for a Big 12 title and 3 coaches in 5 seasons. Steve “Jetski” Patterson, Chris del Conte and the affable alumnus inbetween (a Spike Lee joint). The past 6 years may not have been fun, but they were never boring. Up and down. Balanced.

As any Ebony Maw will tell you, it is a mistake to try and break the shackles of our balanced overlord. Instead we must embrace it.

  • No major O-line injuries to start the season?

All of the linebacker injuries.

  • Finally name a starting quarterback?

A story surfaces of your coach at a strip club 4 years ago even though it’s essentially irrelevant to the actual substantive conversation going on.

  • Tre Watson pulls off a Mission Impossible facemask reveal and is really Ramonce Taylor in his prime?

Herb Hand develops a debilitating Candy Crush addiction.

  • Beat USC in week 3?

Vince Young accidentally tweets a list of all his twitter burner accounts.

  • UGA is absorbed by UT and we get all their recruits?

The world realizes Bryan Carrington Byndom is one person.

  • Sam Elingher truck stick Red River game winner?

Nation agrees Franklin BBQ is just ‘pretty good.’

  • Caden Sterns Polamalu?

You have to publicly admit Beck sometimes makes good calls.

  • Conference realignment that makes everyone happy?

Hah, just kidding.

  • Michael Dickson NFL MVP?

Sure thing.

  • National Championship?

Everything...

No matter what roller coaster we ride this year, it all starts this week against Maryland @ What’s In YOUR Wallet FedEx Field. Awaiting the Horns is a Terps program with just enough disarray to distract from the fact that they hung 51 on us last year. The chain smoking ninja turtles are not a team to be overlooked, even if they are about to fire their Disc Jockey. So Longhorns, check your pee charts, hydrate up, and Hook ‘em.

Fofie Bazzie (DB, Fr. RS) - no but seriously, tell me he doesn’t have a feature credit on a Tinie Tempah or Dizzee Rascall UK Grime track?

Tyler Baylor (DL, Fr.) - A Baylor at Maryland? Guy sure knows how to pick a school with primo culture.

Max Bortenschlager (QB, Jr.) - Much like Maryland’s QBs last year, the first few go down easy, but when it gets to a shot of Bortenschlager, the rest is basically black out.

Mike Shinsky (K, Jr.) - I surmise: your last name clearly tells where you kick from. Michigan State’s Jake Hartberger...kicks from the ‘Hart’. And while this Mike ‘Shins’ it, our beloved Mike...well he plays for the Seahawks now.

RaVon Davis (DB, Sr.) - Quoth the RaVon. NeVer more.

Ty Johnson - The worst part about Johnson’s 132 and a TD on 12 carries last year? Apparently he did it all while not being able to see out of his eyes like cartoon Sam Sheepdog.

Luke Cheuh’s “ANTHROPOMORPHUCKED” at Corey Helford Gallery.

Opening on Saturday, September 8th, 2018 at Corey Helford Gallery is artist Luke Cheuh’s first solo exhibition in four years, “ANTHROPOMORPHUCKED.”

Chueh has become best known for a series of white, almost mascot-like anthropomorphic figures, often depicted with the head of a bear, bunny or chicken. Over time, they have evolved to become empathetic stand-ins for himself and for the viewers. These classic figures will be present alongside a slew of new characters and even objects getting the anthropomorphic treatment, from houses to tea kettles. “ANTHROPOMORPHUCKED” will also premiere new takes on Chinese mythology, from Jiangshi (hopping vampires) to a study featuring a rabbit on the moon—an homage to his heritage as a first generation Chinese-American and the stories that his parents have told him throughout his life.

ANTHROPOMORPHUCKED” will be on view until September 13th, 2018

The Kellogg’s Cereal Mascots Have Been Turned into Universal’s Monsters This Halloween Season

by John Squires
Emahlstadt

more of this weird cereal/horror trend this year.

Your move, General Mills.

Unless they’ve still got something special up their sleeve that hasn’t yet been revealed, it’s looking like General Mills hasn’t done much of anything with their “Cereal Monsters” cereals this Halloween season, releasing them back into stores with the same box art as last year. The good news? This year, Kellogg’s is picking up the slack with new art of their own!

For Halloween 2018, Froot Loops, Apple Jacks and (Chocolate) Frosted Flakes have been given fresh new makeovers, with the art turning each cereal’s mascot(s) into Universal Monsters!

Toucan Sam is the Wolfman, CinnaMon and Bad Apple are Frankenstein and the Mummy, and Tony the Tiger is Dracula!

Additionally, the cereals have brand new “spooky marshmallows,” in various shapes.

All three Kellogg’s Halloween 2018 cereals are on shelves now!

Charles Soule Draws His Own Variant Cover For Curse Words #16 – Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid

by Rich Johnston
Emahlstadt

this is a FANTASTIC book. charles soule is quickly becoming one of my favorite comics writers.

Of late, we have had a spate of traditionally comic book artists who have seized the metaphorical typewriter and taken control of their artistic destiny by writing their own scripts. And jettisoning comic book writers to the scrapheap.

Well, some have come out fighting. such as Charles Soule who has decided to add to his already humungous writing workload by drawing some of it too. He tells Bleeding Cool,

Curse Words #16 marks the start of the second half of the epic Curse Words story, and the beginning of our fourth story arc: “Them Blue Wizard Blues.” Ryan and I wanted to make it really special, and so we decided to give this issue something that has literally never been seen before in comics: my art. I drew a variant cover for the issue, which is being revealed here for the first time.

And here it is.

There you go. He also states,

You may be curious about my process here. Obviously, Ryan is a brilliant genius at art and pictures, and trying to measure up to his skill as a draftsman would have been a fool’s errand. So I decided to just go with my heart and create something that was basically just pure emotion.

What do you call your work, Charles?

When we solicited this piece, we called it the “Not Good” Variant, because honestly, I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off. But now that it’s done… well. I think the results speak for themselves. If we could do it all over again, I think we’d call it the “Not Not Good” Variant.

NNG for short? We love a good acronynm. Or, at least, a not not good acronym.

That’s why we’ve decided to make this cover a 1 in 10 variant. Something this pure, this true… it shouldn’t be easy to attain. You should have to work for it a little bit. The issue hits stores on September 19, but your last opportunity to tell your shop you want it is this Monday, August 27. Do so.

That seems to be today, doesn’t it? FOC away… any last words before you are criticlly judged?

Finally, let me take this opportunity to thank Ryan Browne publicly for all the support and encouragement along the way. He told me what kind of paper to buy, took a call from me when I was at the art supply store to tell me about pens… just everything. I am blessed to work with him. #blessed.”

As for Ryan, he is the comics artist, maybe we should let him have a…

“So, Charles… Charles likes to tell me what to do–A LOT. ‘Draw a baseball stadium filled with 45,000 people! Now draw a two page spread of Manhattan! OH! Now draw a football stadium full of sad people–and make sure you can see all of their sad faces!!! No silhouettes for you!!!!! HAHAHHA!!!!’. He screams this mantra on repeat while he writes Curse Words scripts. No joke. He writes in a local coffee shop and the army of baristas had to build a soundproof isolation booth around him as he wrote. They are all such nice and accommodating baristas and Curse Words would not be possible without their craftsmanship and patience.

Okay I think we get the…

So, Charles… Charles once made me draw the Eiffel Tower (a hard thing to do) rampaging on the Las Vegas Strip (A hard place to draw), all while he poured hot coffee down the back of my shirt–and I sharply responded–“Why don’t you draw it, you mother F%$#@!!!”.

Thus a truly genius idea was born.

So, Charles… Charles is not an visual artist of any sort. Oh, he’ll paint yah a real purdy picture with his silver tongue, that’s for sure–but when it comes to piloting a stylus across the page, that’s pretty much uncharted territory. BUT Charles was determined. He did not want to be a poor carpenter, so he sought advice for what tools make a great artist great. Charles bought these tools and set to work, pouring hot coffee down his own back as he drew so he could feel the torture of being a real visual artist.

Can someone get me some help? This is going a little…

So, Charles… Charles did it. Hours later he emerged from the isolation booth at his local coffee shop, his back burned and horrible, but with a true masterpiece clutched in his powerful hands. ‘I’ve done it! The power is mine! Now! Someone show me how to operate a scanner!!!’ -yelled coffee burned Charles.

can someone call an ambulance? If only for Charles’ burns…

And now the world is a richer, fuller place. A Charles Soule cover exists–and it’s actually quite lovely. Sure, I had to color the hell out of it and make sure to photoshop all the splashes of coffee that stained the page, but the end product is quite special. I’m proud of the guy!

I’m glad it all worked out, so if…

So, Charles… Charles. I say directly to you. Now that you’ve laid down in the hot coffee filled trenches and gotten your precious white jeans stained and crumpled with the pain and doubt of the visual artist, I feel that we can now work as one. You have the knowledge of creating something from nothing and then slapping a logo and $3.99 price tag on it–thus you know what it is to be me.

About that price tag…

So, Charles… Charles, seeing how successfully you did my job, how’s about I write the next issue of Curse Words? C’mon! Just let me put on your white jeans and jump into the isolation booth! It’s only fair!”

He does have a point… here’s the solicit, It also comes in standard cover, Invisible Cover, CBLDF censored and CBLDF non-censored covers too.

[Trailer] First Look at “True Detective” Season 3 Feels Like a Return to the Vibe of Season 1

orly

Personally speaking, I seem to have dug the second season of HBO’s “True Detective” more than most, but there’s no denying the first season was masterful television while the second was just pretty alright. The series returns for a third season next year, and HBO provided us with our first look tonight courtesy of a minute-long teaser trailer.

The good news? It feels a lot more like Season 1 than Season 2.

“Season 3 tells the story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks, and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods.”

The new season’s cast includes Mahershala Ali, Scoot McNairy, Stephen DorffCarmen EjogoMamie Gummer, Rhys Wakefield, Ray Fisher, Sarah Gadon, Emily Nelson, Michael Greyeyes, Brandon Flynn, Michael Graziadei and Jon Tenney.

The third season arrives on HBO in January 2019.

Carlos Denogean, drummer for North Carolina's bastard sons of sludge WEEDEATER, has died. Denogean joined WEEDEATER in 2017 as the replacement for Travis Owen, who stepped down from the group due to health issues. Denogean's passing was confirmed by his bandmates, who wrote in a statement: "There is no easy way to say this. Our dear friend and bandmate Carlos Denogean passed away yesterday. It is with a heavy heart and intense sadness that we bring you this unfortunate news. He left this world far too soon and will be missed immensely by all of us. "Anyone that knew Carlos was enamored by his kindness and his warm personality. He was an incredibly talented musician and a real joy to be around. He brought something truly special to the band and we all loved working with him. We simply cannot express how devastated we are by this loss. "We don't know any details at this time and we ask that you please leave us to grieve now along with Carlos's family. Thank you for all of your kind wishes. Cherish what you have while you have it." Prior to joining WEEDEATER, Denogean had played with BEARD OF ANTLERS, SALVACIÓN and ASG. WEEDEATER's latest album, "Goliathan", was released in 2015.

Texas rewards walk-on OL Austin Allsup with scholarship

by Cody Daniel

The senior offensive lineman becomes the latest Longhorn to earn a scholarship.

For the third time in as many days, a Texas Longhorns walk-on has earned and been awarded with a scholarship.

After senior cornerback Jarmarquis Durst and senior wide receiver Phillip Moeller were presented with scholarships on Thursday and Friday, respectively, Saturday saw the Longhorns latest scholarship go out to senior offensive lineman Austin Allsup.

“As a walk-on you always hope that your work goes recognized. You always kind of hope this day comes, but you never really expect it,” a teary-eyed Allsup said. “I just... I can’t believe this happened. I love each one of y’all, I love this coaching staff more than anything. Y’all are all my family. Let’s go get ‘em this year, boys.”

A Lorena product, Allsup joined the Texas program as a walk-on in 2016, but didn’t see the field throughout Charlie Strong’s final season on the Forty Acres. That changed as a junior, as Allsup made his first career appearance last season during the Longhorns 56-0 Week 2 win over San Jose State. Allsup later played in the Longhorns 38-7 road win over Baylor, and then again during a 42-27 win over Kansas.

Aside from his on-field efforts, which have now helped make his a scholarship member of the Texas football team, Allsup is also a three-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll, with honors coming in spring 2017, fall 2017, and spring 2018.

Allsup is majoring in architectural engineering.

WATCH: Texas DB Jarmarquis Durst has emotional reaction to earning scholarship

by Wescott Eberts
Emahlstadt

i love these videos. nothing like watching a grown-ass man (even if they're only, like 20 years old) completely break down in tears.

The former Tarleton State standout got some good news recently.

With multiple spots available, the Texas Longhorns used one of them to turn senior walk-on defensive back Jarmarquis Durst into a scholarship player this week, sparking an emotional reaction from the Houston native:

As Durst addressed his teammates about what he learned on a mission trip to Jamaica, a man impacted by that journey congratulated the senior on his scholarship, sending his teammates into a frenzied celebration.

The 6’2, 190-pounder has an interesting story. Originally recruited to Tarleton State as a wide receiver out of Conroe Oak Ridge, Durst played in nine games as a true freshman, catching two passes for 18 yards and a touchdown.

As a sophomore, he moved to safety and quickly made an impact, eventually emerging as a starter. In 10 games, he totaled 54 tackles and two tackles for loss, many of them coming later in the season. In an October game against Kingsville, for instance, he had 12 tackles, then recorded 18 tackles in a playoff game.

Presumably looking for a higher level of competition, Durst transferred to Texas in 2016 and redshirted before earning playing time under Herman and his staff last season — he appeared in games against San Jose State and West Virginia.

During the spring, Durst even earned some second-team reps at the Joker position in the Lightning package.

And though Durst isn’t likely to see playing in the secondary this season with so much talent and depth in front of him, he could contribute on special teams.

Even if that doesn’t happen, it won’t diminish the remarkable story of how he came to earn a scholarship from the Longhorns.

WATCH: Walk-on WR receives Texas scholarship

by Wescott Eberts

Congratulations to Phillip Moeller.

There’s another new scholarship player on the Texas Longhorns football team, as senior wide receiver Phillip Moeller joined senior defensive back Jarmarquis Durst in receiving news of his addition to those ranks this week:

“Really all I wanted since I got here was your guys’ respect,” Moeller told his teammates. “And to matter. I just want to make my family proud. You guys took me in. You treat me with respect and that means so much to me. I love you guys.”

The 6’0, 190-pounder from Plano appeared in his first game last season, against Baylor, but makes his most obvious impact in the classroom. For the 2017-18 academic year, Moeller received the Rueben McDaniel award, given to a non-scholarship student-athlete based on merit. He’s also been a five-time member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll — earning that recognition every semester he’s been on campus except for the the fall of 2015.

As a double major in finance and mechanical engineering, Moeller clearly has a bright future award of him, but even after he graduates, he’ll be able to say that he was a scholarship football player at the University of Texas.

[Trailer] ‘The Thing’-Inspired Video Game ‘Distrust’ Launches Tomorrow

by John Squires

Inspired by John Carpenter’s The Thing, this unique horror/strategy game takes place at an arctic research base where otherworldly terrors threaten humanity.

Sounds very familiar, right? Well, in Distrust, which draws so much inspiration from Carpenter’s film that it might as well be called The Thing

“A helicopter crash left a group of explorers stranded near an Arctic base. As they try to find a way back, all they are doing is sinking deeper into a nightmare scenario. When they sleep, they attract a terrifying force that sucks the life out of their bodies, but the longer they battle exhaustion and stay awake, the less likely they are to survive…

As the survivors try to sleep just enough to stave off fatigue without dying, they slowly go mad and eventually reach the point where they can no longer trust their senses. In time, they can’t even tell the difference between reality and a hallucination.”

The game features console-optimized controls, 15 unlockable characters, multiple endings, and more.

by Shabana Arif
Emahlstadt

fuck this game and every version of it that has ever existed. i've never been so infuriated by such a stupid fucking thing in my life.

Trials Rising closed beta is skipping the Nintendo Switch.

Ubisoft has announced that Trials Rising will be launching on February 12, 2019, with a PC, PS4, and Xbox One closed beta set for September 13 – 16.

Pre-orders for the game are live now, with a Standard and Gold Edition available. Players who order in advance will receive two rider packs, each containing six customisation items. The Jungle Rider Pack lets you kit your rider out in a gorilla suit, while the Wild West Rider Pack lets you dress them up in snazzy cowboy gear.

The Gold Edition includes the expansion pass, giving you access to two major DLCs, additional motorbikes and tracks, and a 16-page sticker art book, over on Amazon UK.

Trials Rising was unveiled at Ubisoft’s E3 2018 press conference, and promises the largest map selection of the series so far, as well as an expanded Track Editor with a broader range of customisation tools.

Ubisot also detailed the game’s worldwide tour that lets players scale monuments like the Eiffel Tower and the Great Wall of China on their bikes.

Stadium Finals events will spice up things up for those of you looking for a challenge. Players will face off in a three-heat showdown against seven competitors, with the group of competitors getting smaller at the outset of every round, until a single winner remains.

Trials Rising launches on February 12, 2019 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. You can sign up for next month’s closed beta right here.

Survival Horror Project ‘Daymare: 1998’ Unveils Teaser Trailer

by Pat Torfe

Announced early last year, Invader Studio’s third-person survival horror game Daymare: 1998 has a new teaser trailer. Set for release later this year (Third Quarter 2018, to be more exact) on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the game will also have a VR release.

In what was originally a group of friends that got together to work on Resident Evil 2 Reborn (an unofficial remake of Resident Evil 2 that was subsequently halted when, you know…), the team switched gears to get to work on Daymare.

The story for the game occurs in 1998, where an industrial accident occurring in the town of Keen Height by Hexacore Biogenetics attempting to transport toxic chemicals out of the region results in the town’s populace turning into monsters. You play as one of three characters &endash; Levi, Raven, or Samuel &endash; with their paths crossing periodically in the game.

Yes, as you can guess, there’s a lot of RE2 in this one. But dammit, since you’re lifting from one of the best survival horror games ever, why not? To find out more about the game, hit up the Steam Greenlight page, or Invader Studios themselves.

Not surprising if you’re a TTF reader, but Texas will need both Sam Ehlinger and Shane Buechele in the 2018 season. Hopefully, the coaches will state their case to Shane that he’s only one play away from starting.

has anyone watched this? i watched part of one episode and she is the least charismatic "talk show" host i've ever seen in front of the camera.

And so goes another experiment in Netflix’s ongoing efforts to get people interested in timely streaming content: Deadline reports that the streaming service has just decided to simultaneously discontinue The Break With Michelle Wolf and The Joel McHale Show. Both series were comedy talk shows that aired on a weekly…

there's still time for that backyard summer screening.

Anker’s Nebula Capsule mini projector gets all the hype, but if its standard definition resolution and 100 lumen brightness won’t cut it for your portable cinema needs, the sharper and brighter (and larger) Nebula Mars line is deeply discounted in today’s Amazon Gold Box.

New ‘Cereal Killers: Volume 2’ Coffee Table Book Combines Horror Monsters and Breakfast Cereals

by John Squires
Emahlstadt

what's with the all-of-a-sudden fascination with fake horror cereals in 2018? what a weird zeitgeisty thing.

In the years since the release of the “coffin table book” Cereal Killers, we’re now living in a world where horror-themed cereals actually are a reality. As of this summer, Funko has given Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger and Pennywise their own cereals, with more coming soon.

On a related note, sequel book Cereal Killers: Volume 2 is arriving later this year!

Now up for pre-order, the new book is another collection of faux cereal boxes based on the idea of combining the cartoon packaging from kids sugary cereals with the Kooky and spooky sensibilities of Halloween. The 40-page art book features full-color interiors…

“This follow up to our first coffin table art book is eye-popping madness featuring artists from around the world including; including Rob Kramer, Leigh Kuilboer, Eric Von Frankenstein, Candy Weil, Ruttu Ruttu, Mark Thompson, Jay Hollopeter & more plus cover art by Simone Arena. These collection of colorful illustrations are gross, fun, and not to be missed.”

Pre-order your copy today ($30) through It Came from the ’80s.
