After six months of patches, a slew of court cases and a massive public backlash, CD Projekt CEO Adam Kiciński believes Cyberpunk 2077 is now at ‘a satisfying level’.
During a WSE Innovation Day conference picked up by TVN24 (via VGC), Kiciński commented that CD Projekt feels comfortable with the level of quality the game has reached since its fairly disastrous launch last year.
When asked about the stability and performance of the game now, some six months after its release, Kiciński replied: “We have reached a satisfying level in this regard.
“We have also been working on improving the overall quality, which we are also quite happy about. Of course, we also removed bugs and visual glitches and we will continue to do that. Over time, we will also be introducing improvements to the general game systems that players have highlighted.”
So that bodes well for the future. But it’s not been easy getting to this stage: staff have reportedly called out management’s unrealistic expectations in an internal meeting, the studio’s reputation has taken a massive hit, and CD Projekt recorded a sizeable profit slump in Q1 2021.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVWJPYKCMco
But perhaps you can see why Kiciński is emboldened: Cyberpunk 2077 returned to the PlayStation Store this week, which marked the end of an eight-month period of the game’s absence on Sony storefronts. Sony pulled Cyberpunk 2077 off the PS Store after the game’s buggy, unstable state became clear, but Microsoft opted to keep the game on sale, albeit with modified refund practices.
As well as being available once more on PlayStation platforms, we also heard last week that Microsoft has confirmed that its Cyberpunk 2077 refund scheme is reverting to the company’s more standard refund policy for digitally-purchased games as of July 6.
If that’s something you’re keen on trying yourself, we wrote a guide on how to try and ask for a refund from Xbox.
To date, Cyberpunk 2077 has sold at least 13 million copies.

Emahlstadtspeaking of things that don't need to be remade...
Legendary Entertainment is developing a remake of Troma’s The Toxic Avenger, with Macon Blair on board to write and direct, and we’ve got more casting news today.
THR reports that Sarah Niles (I May Destroy You, above) and Jonny Coyne (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom) have signed on. “Coyne is playing a shadowy criminal figure while Niles will play a corrupt city official.” Elijah Wood, Julia Davis (Sally4Ever), Kevin Bacon, Peter Dinklage, Jacob Tremblay, and Taylour Paige (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom) will also star.
In the 1984 original, directed by Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz…
“The Toxic Avenger is born when meek mop boy Melvin falls into a vat of toxic waste. Now evildoers will have a lot to lose.”
Deadline details the upcoming remake, “A contemporary reimagining of Troma Entertainment’s successful 1984 low-budget action comedy hit, The Toxic Avenger is steeped in environmental themes and subverts the superhero genre in the vein of Deadpool. When a struggling everyman is pushed into a vat of toxic waste, he is transformed into a mutant freak who must go from shunned outcast to underdog hero as he races to save his son, his friends and his community from the forces of corruption and greed.”
Macon Blair starred in the films Blue Ruin and Green Room, and he more recently wrote Netflix’s Hold the Dark and wrote/directed I Don’t Feel At Home in This World Anymore.
Kaufman and Herz will produce the new take on Troma’s classic.
Emahlstadtthe original was solid, if a bit forgettable. but, add this to the now-endless list of shit that no on asked for and doesn't need to be "remade."
A remake of Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala’s 2014 movie Goodnight Mommy is on the way from Amazon Studios, and two of the main roles have been cast this week.
Naomi Watts, who of course starred in the excellent American remake of The Ring, recently landed the leading role, and Variety reports that Cameron and Nicholas Crovetti (“Big Little Lies”) will play the twin sons of her character. Jeremy Bobb (“The Outsider”), Crystal Lucas-Perry (Mimesis Nosferatu) and Peter Hermann (“Younger”) have landed supporting roles.
In Goodnight Mommy, “Elias and his twin brother Lukas arrive at their mother’s house to find her face covered in bandages − the result, she explains, of recent cosmetic surgery. Lukas delights in their mother’s uncharacteristically lax house rules, but in Elias’ mind, a dreadful thought takes root: the sinking suspicion that this woman beneath the gauze, who’s making their food and sleeping in the next room, isn’t really their mother.”
Kyle Warren wrote the new script, with Matt Sobel (Take Me To The River) directing.
Watts will also executive produce the English-language remake of the Austrian film. Original filmmakers Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz are also on board as executive producers.
Emahlstadtbummer.
honestly i feel like i'm in the twilight of my texas football fandom. it's been a rough decade+. i'll always root for the horns, i guess, but my days of really giving a shit are probably close to over, i'm sad to say.
hate to be all fair-weather about it, but if, against all odds, someone is able to overcome the apparently toxic room of big-money-donors that has owned this teams balls since forever and get some meaningful wins to move the team back to any type of relevance i could always have renewed interest, but we all know better than to expect that at this point.
too bad, so sad, and all that.
The lone member of the 2023 class has reopened his recruitment.
After committing to the Texas Longhorns in February, five-star running back Rueben Owens announced via Twitter Thursday that he was reopening his recruitment as he continues to take visits.
Thanks for everything Hook Em nation, recruiting 100% open. #Faith pic.twitter.com/fPup7VPWHr
— Rueben Owens ll #4soCr4zy (@ii_rueben) June 17, 2021
Owens was on campus as a part of the big 2023 visit weekend, spending time with the coaching staff and other high-priority Texas targets - including five-star quarterback Arch Manning. The weekend prior to visiting Texas, Owens was in Tuscaloosa visiting the Alabama Crimson Tide, after receiving an offer from the National Champion in April.
Texas now sits without a commitment in the 2023 class, as they get their first opportunities to host recruits on campus after the COVID dead period was lifted at the start of June.
Emahlstadtwhat a legend.

Over the past year of hibernation, many viewers have rediscovered the joy of watching Columbo. The landmark 1970s TV mystery series starred Peter Falk in his multiple-Emmy-winning role as a raincoat-wearing, cigar-smoking detective who always had just one more question. The show was also popular in the time of its…
Emahlstadtman, i feel bad for george lopez's daughter, for so, so, many reasons.

George Lopez is returning to television, and he’s making it a family affair. Lopez will star alongside his daughter Mayan Lopez in Lopez V. Lopez, a “working-class family comedy about dysfunction, reconnection and all the pain and joy in between.” Following in her father’s footsteps, the pair has named the show after…
Emahlstadti love when shows get green-lit, aired and cancelled, all before i even know they exist. what is this show and who are any of these people?

There’s something on the wing of the plane! For the sci-fi plane mystery series Manifest, the fearful creature is NBC’s decision to not renew for a fourth season. The series joins Debris and Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist in the reject pile building up outside of the NBC offices.
Emahlstadtjust for everyone to see what mike myers' face looks like now.

A whole bunch of crap happened in the last two years, so you almost definitely forgot that Mike Myers was working on a new project for Netflix. Today, the streamer announced the title and casting for the upcoming series, which may sound a little familiar to longtime fans of Myers. Keegan-Michael Key, Ken Jeong, …
Emahlstadtanother to add to the list of actors (like gerald strickland) who look shockingly like donald pleasance.
rip donald pleasance and norman lloyd. look out, gerald strickland.

Norman Lloyd, who was known as the oldest working actor in Hollywood with a career spanning over nine decades, has died. Deadline reports that Lloyd died on May 10 in his sleep at his Los Angeles home, which was confirmed by a family friend. He was 106.

Emahlstadtjust another reminder that robert kirkman is an embarrassingly bad writer and, in general, the absolute worst.

Amazon Prime Video’s star-studded, animated superhero drama Invincible wrapped season one with a heartbreaking and frenzied fight between its two lead superheroes: the father-son duo of Nolan Grayson, a.k.a Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons) and Mark Grayson, a.k.a. Invincible (Steven Yeun). The finale, titled “Where I Really…
Emahlstadtman, i hope this is good. i mean, we don't have netflix, so i won't see it anyway, but i still hope its good.

Based on the DC comic book series by Jeff Lemire, Sweet Tooth is an epic saga that takes place in a mostly post-apocalyptic world where the existence of human and animal hybrid creatures is seemingly normal. Lemire’s limited book series ran from 2009 to 2013 with a total of 40 issues, so the fantasy drama has plenty…
Emahlstadtgross. robert kirkman is a garbage writer. his comics are garbage, and the worst one of all of them is invincible, which is like what a comic book would be if we let 12 year-olds write comics for a living,
no one less deserving and with less talent has become so famous and rich for being horrible at what they do since anne hathaway.
makes me fucking sick.
fuck robert kirkman, and fuck invincible.

Amazon Prime Video’s adaptation of Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley’s Invincible was kind of a big swing, seeing as how it’s an adult-oriented adaptation of a well-loved comic book, done in the style of the sort of ‘90s superhero cartoons that nobody makes anymore and with a big-name cast, which pretty…
Emahlstadti learned this about phil collins a few years ago. what i still don't understand is WHY. this headline says because his wife gave him a gift. surely, his wife has given him any gifts, but they did not all turn into the world's largest collection of whatever that was.
WHY phil collins? WHY do you love the alamo so much!?!?!?
