'Arrested Development' Sneak Peek and All the Details About the New Season (VIDEO)

Post by Linda Sharps

Arrested DevelopmentOkay, you knew that Arrested Development got picked up by Netflix, right? And that an entire fourth season of the beloved show is going to be available on May 26? Well, as if that wasn't exciting enough, there have been some recent, ah, developments since the original announcement that all 10 episodes would be released on the same day. As Netflix joked, they made a "huge mistake" in the number of episodes -- there are actually going to be 15 total installments premiering exclusively via their instant streaming service on the 26th. Hooray!

Also, it's just been announced that a familiar face from another beloved TV comedy series will be joining the already-amazing cast of guest stars. ALSO, Netflix released a genius outtake clip from the new season that's an absolute must-see sneak peek at the hilarity to come. Check it out!

First, the newest guest star: it's none other than John Krasinski from The Office. Aw, who doesn't love Jim Halpert? Krasinski is wrapping up The Office this month with a series finale on May 16, but you won't have to wait long to see him again, since he's set to appear in one of the new Arrested Development episodes. No word on which one or what sort of role he'll play, but I'm sure he'll be a fantastic addition. Krasinski will be joining Seth Rogen, Ben Stiller, Kristen Wiig, Conan O'Brien, and Isla Fisher, so I'd say the guest star roster is shaping up quite nicely.

Now for the sneak peek clip! This outtake scene was screened during panels at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour and SXSW, and it features Lucille and Buster Bluth in a rather ... dysfunctional moment:

See this video on The Stir by CafeMom.

Oh, BLUTHS. I have missed you so.

Finally, the much-adored cast reunited in L.A. last night for the season 4 premiere, and in addition to providing a slew of amazing photo opportunities (please enjoy this random picture of an ostrich walking the red carpet), they dished about what's to come:

It's been what, seven years, and time has not been kind to him or anyone else in the family. So we're all kind of a little banged up. -- Jason Bateman (Michael Bluth)

The show we're doing, it's 15 episodes. Together they sort of become one giant Arrested Development that slowly unfolds … everybody kind of has their own chapter in it. (...) Everybody has gone out on a limb on this thing, in a very major way. We're doing something that I think is very new. -- creator Mitch Hurwitz

If there is a movie, I think we've kind of caught the audience up from 2006 to 2012. I think that was the purpose of this series. And now by the end of this series we'll be in current time. That's all I know. -- Portia De Rossi (Lindsay Bluth Fünke)

It was divine to put that hook back on. -- Tony Hale (Buster Bluth)

Are you looking forward to seeing the fourth season of Arrested Development?

Walking Dead Star Photobombs Game of Thrones Fans with Killer Headshot

by Neetzan Zimmerman

Not about to let some wayward baseball be the best photobomber of the day, The Walking Dead's resident rebel-with-a-crossbow Norman Reedus decided to drop by the Game of Thrones fan photo session at the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo and deliver a very necessary headshot to an otherwise quotidian snap of Peter Dinklage and Lena Headey with a pair of Thronies.

Jason Collins is the First Openly Gay Athlete in the History of NBA

In the cover story of the upcoming May issue of Sports Illustrated, NBA free agent Jason Collins publicly revealed that he is gay, becoming the first active male professional athlete in the United States to do so. According to the article, Collins worked up his courage to come out after hearing about his college roommate-turned-Massachusetts senator Joe Kennedy walking in last year's Gay Pride Parade in Boston and now, they will be marching together at this year's parade in June. Collins' disclosure was largely met by encouragements and messages of support from dozens of other athletes as well as his twin brother Jarron.

We're mighty sick of Doctor Who stories where time travel is magic

by Charlie Jane Anders
Bossclaireshorty

Ok, so for SERIOUS, don't read this if you haven't seen the episode...but. I enjoyed this ep, despite some serious holes it has, and it just made me want to rewatch MULTIPLE other episodes, including Gaimon's about the TARDIS and the replicant ones and several others involved Amy and them being sort of trapped in the TARDIS. Something serious fishy is going on with Clara and the Doctor and whatnot. During this episode, which has some magnificent flashes back to earlier doctors, I kept thinking what Doctor #10 would've done, and honestly, it would've been DIFFERENT. I am feeling kind of conflicted about this whole plotline going on. Clara still needs to make some kind of statement, and the Doctor seems more unhinged than usual. I'm curious to see where this all goes. As usual. But also a little uneasy.

Ever since Steven Moffat took over as head writer of Doctor Who, the show's been trying to be a "dark fairy tale." And the main sort of magic in Moffat's fairy-tale Who has been time-travel, with its arbitrary rules and get-out-of-jail-free cards. But after tonight's episode, I'm finally tired of "jargony-wargony" writing.
