Ezek zsenik, csettintettem, amikor először hallottam a Google legújabb fejlesztéséről, a Maps app új szolgáltatásáról, amellyel a felhasználók meg tudják osztani barátaikkal pillanatnyi tartózkodási helyüket.
Nem azért, mintha magától a szolgáltatástól hanyat vágtam volna magam, hanem azért, mert
sikerült újként eladniuk valamit, amit már évekkel ezelőtt egyszer kitaláltak.
Ahogy azt a Business Insider is írja, az új szolgáltatás szinte minden részletében egyezik a 2009-ben bemutatott appjukkal, a Latitude-dal.

Katasztrofálisan végződött Donald Trump szempontjából az FBI és az NSA igazgatójának hétfői meghallgatása, ahol a két főkém kénytelen volt többször is élő egyenes adásban meghazudtolni a főnökét. A meghallgatásuk alapján két tényre biztosan fény derült:
az amerikai szolgálatok nem Trumpot és munkatársait figyelték meg, nem volt bedrótozva a New York-i Trump-torony;
ellenben valóban folyik vizsgálat Trump stábja és az oroszok közti kapcsolatok tárgyában.
Szerdára pártvonalak mentén kettéhasadt a valóság értelmezése. Előbb a képviselőház titkosszolgálati bizottságának Trump-hívő republikánus elnöke, Devin Nunes szólalt meg, állítván, hogy
az amerikai titkosszolgálatok igenis lehallgatták a Trump-stáb több tagját.
Ami eléggé úgy hangzik, mintha megerősítené Trump korábbi, megalapozatlan állításait. Csakhogy, és ez egy elég fontos csakhogy, még Nunes is elismerte, hogy ezesetben a kémzsargonban incidental collectionnek, vagyis véletlenszerű adatgyűjtésnek nevezett jelenségről van szó, magyarán
az amerikai titkosszolgálatok külföldi (orosz) ügynököket figyeltek meg, akikkel momentán rohadt sokat beszéltek Trump emberei.
Ez elég lényegi különbség, mert valójában az FBI igazát bizonyítja: a megfigyelések tárgya nem Trump környezete, hanem egy idegen ország titkosszolgálatának dolgozói voltak.
A vita most azon van, hogy az ilyen véletlenszerű adatgyűjtés esetén a véletlenül megfigyelt amerikai állampolgárok személyazonosságát óvni szokták. Anonimizálják, "maszkolják" őket, vagyis a leiratokból nem derül ki a személyük. Adott azonban a lehetőség a véletlenül megfigyeltek azonosítására, "maszktalanítására" is, amennyiben ez relevánsnak tűnik. Trump több munkatársa esetében ez megtörtént. Nunes szerint indokolatlanul, mert az elfogott beszélgetéseknek szerinte nem volt hírszerzési értéke.
Ez vállalható, de egyben vitatható álláspont. Való igaz, hogy például az orosz nagykövettel folytatott beszélgetései eltitkolása miatt lemondott nemzetbiztonsági főtanácsadó, Michael Flynn, vagy az ugyanezért le nem mondó igazságügyi miniszter, Jeff Sessions a kiszivárgottak szerint valóban semmi lényegiről nem beszélt a megfigyelés alatt álló Szergej Kiszljak nagykövettel, de pusztán a tény, hogy hazudtak a kapcsolatról, önmagában is érdekes. Főleg Sessions esetében, aki kongresszusi meghallgatásai alatt hallgatta el a kapcsolatát.
Másrészt az is nyilvánvalónak tűnik, hogy az úgymond hivatalos, diplomáciai fedésben dolgozó, tehát nyilvánvalóan a fogadó ország hírszerzése által megfigyelt ügynök nyílt telefonvonalon soha semmi érdekesről nem fog beszélni, így viszont önmagában a kommunikáció ténye is érdekes lehet hírszerzési szempontból.
Harmadrészt, a képviselőház titkosszolgálati bizottságának kisebbségi, demokrata csoportját vezető David Schiff a trumpista Nunes-zel szemben a leghatározottabban, bár minden részlet említése nélkül állítja, hogy az általa látottak alapján
nemhogy csak közvetett, de nagyon is konkrét bizonyítékok vannak a Trump-stáb és az oroszok összejátszására.
Mivel nem nyilvános dolgokról van szó, ebben nehéz igazságot tenni. Az mindenesetre tény, hogy az AP szerdai leleplezése alapján Paul Manafort, Trump kampányának egykori igazgatója korábbi nyilvános tagadásaival szemben
igenis dolgozott Putyinnak, illetve Putyin érdekében egy Putyinhoz nagyon-nagyon közeli orosz oligarchának.

körében is. Míg két hete a férfiak és a fehérek többsége is pozitívan ítélte meg addigi tevékenységét, most már 43:52, illetve 44:50 arányban inkább rossznak ítélik. A magukat republikánusként azonosítók körében még mindig magas, 81 százalékos a tetszési indexe, de ez is tíz százalékpontot esett a két héttel ezelőt mérthez képest.
Trump tavaly novemberi győzelmében fontos tényező volt a független szavazók támogatása. Ennek vége:
a felmérés szerint a függetlenek 60:31 arányban ítélik rossznak eddigi ténykedését.
A teljes népesség körében még drámaibbak az adatok:
a választók 60 százaléka szerint Trump nem őszinte;
55 százaléka szerint nincsenek vezetői képességei;
57 százaléka szerint nem törődik az átlag amerikaiakkal;
66 százalékuk szerint nem hidegfejű;
ugyancsak 66 százalékuk szerint nem erős;
61 százalékuk szerint nem osztja az értékeiket.
73 százalékuk szerint Trump és kormánya gyakran vagy elég gyakran tesz megalapozatlan állításokat.
Viszont legalább hülyének nem tartják, 59 százalékuk szerint az elnök intelligens.
Tim Malloy, a kutatást végző egyetem kutatási igazgatóhelyettese szerint Trump szempontjából a legaggasztóbb a bázisa, vagyis a fehér republikánus férfiak körében elszenvedett veszteség.
De azt sem rakhatja ki az ablakba, hogy bár az amerikaiak a sajtónak még mindig nem hisznek jobban nála, az általa gyakran támadott bíróságokban és a rendszeresen alázott titkosszolgálatoknak sokkal inkább hisznek.
Trumpnak eddig arról se sikerült meggyőznie a választókat, hogy jól kezelné a politikai kihívásokat. 58 százalékuk szerint rosszul kezeli a külpolitikai kérdéseket, 50 százalékuk szerint a terrorizmust, 54 százalékuk szerint a költségvetést és
60 százalékuk szerint még a bevándorlási kérdéseket is,
pedig ez volt Trump kampányának legfőbb témája és ezügyben tette eddig a legtöbbet a beutazási tilalomról szóló rendeleteivel, a határőrség és az idegenrendészet állományának felduzzasztásával és a mexikói határfal építésének elrendelésével.

A hacker could have accessed “obviously bad” LastPass commands
On Monday, Google researcher Tavis Ormandy reported the vulnerability in the popular password management tool. In an outline of the problem, Ormandy explains that a coding flaw allowed anyone to “proxy” unauthenticated messages to a LastPass browser extension. By exploiting the problem, a hacker could obtain access to privileged LastPass commands — including “the obviously bad ones,” such as “copying and filling in passwords (copypass, fillform, etc).”

The official Raspberry Pi magazine just announced that over 12.5 million of the affordable little Linux boards have been sold since the original Pi was launched in 2012. As The MagPi points out, this puts the Raspberry Pi past Commodore 64 sales, according to some estimates. That would make the Pi the third best-selling "general purpose computer" ever, behind Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows PCs. As commenters have pointed out, this isn't a precisely fair comparison, because there were other Commodore models than just the 64, but it's still a nice milestone all the same.

Waze and Spotify are teaming up to make it easier to control your music on the road. The two companies are updating their apps to put a little bit of Waze-powered navigation in Spotify, and a little bit of Spotify-powered music in Waze. Users will be able to start a journey using Waze from within the Spotify app on iOS and Android, or change Spotify tracks while following a route using the Waze app. Browsing playlists from within Waze, though, will only be allowed when the car is at a standstill.

Nokia’s 3310 was the highlight of MWC 2017 as HMD revealed a new version of the feature phone at the biggest phone show in the world – but there’s another 3310 you should know about.
Luxury phone brand Gresso has shared a new version of the Nokia 3310 that costs a whopping $3,000 (about £2,450, AU$3,950). You could have got 18 of the original Nokia 3310's in 2000 for the same price.
This isn't the Nokia 3310 we saw at MWC this year or the original phone from 2000 though. It's also currently unclear if Gresso has the rights to use the iconic 3310 name and form factor.
The Gresso 3310 mimics the design of the original Nokia phone, but instead of a plastic shell comes with grade 5 titanium body. That's super durable as it can handle drops of 32 feet.
An expensive return
The Gresso 3310 comes in either black or titanium grey. As for the camera there’s a 3MP shooter, which even beats the rerelease version of the Nokia 3310 we saw launch earlier this week.
Battery wise it’s going to last for 75 hours of talk time while there’s also 32GB of storage onboard. There’s also a dual-SIM so you can use two different numbers at the same time.
Gresso has yet to share the rest of the spec for the new 3310, but it seems to have a similar size screen to the original phone.
This is a limited edition phone so if you have a lot of money to spend and you want to buy it, you'll probably need to hurry considering how popular the Nokia 3310 is proving at the moment.
An actual release date for this version is currently unclear.

Nokia is back. The Finnish brand is once again adorning smartphones and at MWC 2017 it took to the stage to reveal its first three devices: Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3.

Nokia has confirmed that the new Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 will all go on sale globally in Q2 of this year.
That means a new Nokia release date will fall sometime between April and June, but exact timings and locations will be revealed nearer to the time.

The new Nokia 6 is the most feature packed of the firm's new trio, with a 5.5-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 430 chipset, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 16MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, fingerprint scanner and a 3,000mAh battery.
It's not a flagship line up of specs, but when you consider the Nokia 6 price is just €229 (around $240, £195, AU$315) it looks like pretty good value for money.
Nokia actually launched the 6 early this year in China to test the waters, and has now go ahead with its global rollout thanks to the positive reaction generated.
On screen you'l find the stock version of Android 7 Nougat, the latest version of Google's operating system, without any interface overlay or pre-installed bloatware, giving you a clean workspace.
If you're feeling fancier, there's a special edition variant of this handset - the Nokia 6 Arte Black - which features a glossy 'piano black' rear, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage for an asking price of €299 (around $315, £255, AU$410).

The Nokia 5 sits in the middle of the new trio of phones, offering a more compact design over the slightly more premium Nokia 6, and a few extra features over the cheaper Nokia 3.
It comes with a 5.2-inch HD display, Snapdragon 430 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, fingerprint scanner and a 3,000mAh battery.
Like the 6, the new Nokia 5 also features a full metal body for a premium look and feel, and the front mounted fingerprint scanner doubles as the home navigation key.

Nokia 3 price: €139 (around $130, £105, AU$170)
Pure Android 7 operating system
Last, but not least, is the baby of Nokia's new smartphone pack - the new Nokia 3 which sports an incredibly attractive price tag.
There's a 5-inch HD display, MediaTek quad-core chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 8MP rear camera, 8MP wide-angle front snapper and a 2,650mAh battery.
There's no fingerprint scanner in play here, and it packs a cheaper chipset than the 5 and 6 so performance won't be as good - but at this price it can be forgiven.
You still get the pure Android experience, a couple of acceptable cameras and a decent HD display, making the Nokia 3 a nice little budget buy.

While we were excited for the return of the Nokia 3310, we knew the only way it could have a chance at succeeding was if Nokia kept the cost down.
Thankfully that's exactly what happened, with the new Nokia 3310 price coming in at just €49 (around $40, £35, AU$55).

The new Nokia 3310 release date is set for Q2 of this year, but the firm is currently unable to give us anything more specific than this April-June time frame.
We have been told the new 3310 will be available globally though, so it will hopefully be quite easy to get hold of.
New Nokia 3310 design
The design of the new Nokia 3310 brings the classic look up to date with a slimmer profile and lighter body alongside the familiar screen border and key layout from the original phone.
Its body measures a highly-pocketable 115.6 x 51.0 x 12.8mm, and the new 3310 tips the scales at just 79.6g.
Other additions over the original include a headphone jack at the top and a microUSB port on the base for charging. There's also a microSD slot under the removable rear cover which supports cards up to 32GB in size.
The new Nokia 3310 will be available in four colors; the original blue and grey along with the newer, and brighter yellow and warm red.

In a time of huge displays and massive resolutions, the Nokia 3310 couldn't be further away from these smartphone ideals.
The new 3310 packs a 2.4-inch, QVGA (240*320) display. It is color, and while it is readable you won't be watching any movies on it.
That dinky display is covered by a curved window with a polarized layer for better readability in sunlight.

New Nokia 3310 battery
The original Nokia 3310 was well known for its multiple days of battery life, and the good news is the new 3310 keeps up with tradition.
Nokia is quoting up to 31 days of standby time for the 3310, and 22 hours of talk time. In comparison the original could muster up to 11 days in standby, and 2.5 hours of talk. That life is delivered by a removable 1,200mAh power pack.

The 2MP camera on the back of the new 3310 is a new feature for the 2017 reboot.
It's a very simple affair, with no fancy features other than a digital zoom. Good for the odd shot, but nothing more than that.

With the new Nokia 3310 being a feature phone, it comes running a feature phone operating system. Nokia Series 30+ to be exact.
Navigated by the direction pad below the display, the simple interface offers up a variety of options including call logs, contacts, messages, calendar, calculator, camera app, a simple Opera web browser, Snake and a few other things.
The new Nokia 3310 only offers 2.5G connectivity, so you won't be able to get full-blown internet on the handset, and there's no Wi-Fi on board either.

Graphics have been given a boost, it's in full color and there are a variety of new levels. The controls have also slightly changed - you just use the 4 and 6 keys to move left and right now.

Opera released a new web browser today called Neon that’s meant to try out a bunch of untested design ideas. Neon isn’t close to being ready to replace your main web browser — it’s being called a “concept browser” — but it does have some neat ideas that are fun to try out and, in some cases, you can imagine becoming part of a major browser one day.
Neon’s homepage looks far different than any other browser’s. Though it still includes shortcuts to bookmarks and top websites, they’re displayed as floating bubbles that are overlaid on your desktop wallpaper. There’s no discrete address bar either; there’s just a line above all the floating balls asking you to type something in. Visually, it’s very cool.

The last phone designed by BlackBerry has managed to grab a lot of attention in the past few days and a new post from Ralph Pini, Chief Operating Officer and General Manager, Mobility Solutions, at BlackBerry, highlights that even further. Mercury wasn't the only winner, though, the DTEK50 scored some love at CES as well taking home an Innovation Award.
