For each and every gaming console out there, there's one final swansong which showcases the power behind the dated hardware it sits on. Take Shadow of The Colossus for example, a stunning adventure which pushes the PlayStation 2 to its absolute limits - limits we never knew the system even had. Although older consoles such as the Nintendo NES leave a lot up for discussion in terms of its most demanding game, a bunch of homebrew developers have just muscled in on this discussion by releasing an unofficial prequel to Metroid which puts the 8-bit console under incredible strain.

Nintendo Switch wird microSDXC-Speicherkarten mit einer maximalen Speicherkapazität von bis zu 2 TB unterstützen, dies stellte ein Sprecher des Unternehmens gegenüber Game Informer klar. Damit wurde die Aussage eines anderen Nintendo-Mitarbeiters korrigiert, der beim "Treehouse Livestream" sagte, dass microSDXC-Karten mit maximal 256 GB verwendet werden können. Die besagten 2-TB-Speicherkarten sind allerdings noch nicht auf dem Markt verfügbar.

Die Erweiterung des Speichers ist zwingend erforderlich, denn der interne Speicher der Konsole beträgt lediglich 32 GB. Kauft man beispielsweise die Download-Version von The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, müssen die 13,4 GB Spieldaten entweder intern oder extern abgespeichert werden.

Wie Nintendo jüngst bekannt gab, wird das kommende Action-Rollenspiel The Legend of Zelda - Breath of the Wild (Preview) hierzulande auch als „Limited Edition“ erscheinen.

Earlier today, Nintendo announced the Switch will launch globally on March 3, 2017 for $299.99 USD ($469.95 AUD, £279.99 GBP, ¥29,980 JPY). This announcement came during Nintendo’s Switch Presentation.

It will come with the console, L and R Joy-Con, Joy-Con wrist straps, Joy-Con grip, the Nintendo Switch dock, HDMI cable, and an AC adapter. The Pro Controller will be available separately. In addition, one model with come with grey controllers, and another model with one neon red and one neon blue. Both versions will be the same suggested retail price.

Moments after the Switch livesteam, Nintendo revealed the various collector's editions for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Below you can find details on each of the collector's editions. In North America, there's only one version, while in Japan there are two versions available: the standard and the deluxe. In addition to revealing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's collector's editions, Nintendo also revealed the new Princess Zelda amiibo. The iconic character made an appearance in the game's latest trailer. You can view the amiibo in the image below.

Nintendo announced the Nintendo Switch launches in the US, Japan, major European countries, and other territories on March 3 for $299 / 29,980 yen.

The console will feature online features that allow people to invite each other to play games online together. The service will be free at launch, but will be a paid service starting in Fall 2017.

Battery life will vary by game from 2.5 hours to 6.5 hours.

Nintendo has announced Super Mario Odyssey for Switch.

"This is the first sandbox game that allows Mario to fully explore his world since Super Mario 64 on Nintendo 64 and Super Mario Sunshine on Nintendo GameCube. Nintendo has revealed the price of the different Nintendo Switch controllers, as well as the Dock and they aren't cheap. 

The Pro Controller is priced at $69.99, while the left and right Joy-Con controller bundle is available for $79.99. The single left or right Joy-Con controller is priced at $49.99. The Joy-Con Charging Grip, that turns the two Joy-Con controllers into one controller, is priced at $29.99.

The Nintendo Switch Dock Set is priced at $89.99.

More details on the Nintendo Switch features have been posted on the official Nintendo website. 

The screen itself is 720p 6.2 inches and features multi-touch capacitive. It comes with 32GB of internal memory. The storage can be expanded by using a microSDXC card.

The battery can last for more than six hours, however, while The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild it will last for around three hours.

The Nintendo Switch launches on March 3 for $299.

Sunless Sea wird in einigen Monaten auf iPad veröffentlicht, wie Entwickler Failbetter Games auf seiner Webseite mitgeteilt hat. Einen genauen Termin gibt es noch nicht, bekannt ist allerdings, dass BlitWorks für die Umsetzung verantwortlich zeichnet. Das Studio arbeitete auch an den mobilen Versionen von u.a. A number of Nintendo Switch accessories from third-party peripheral company Hori have seemingly leaked, just days prior to the system's full reveal.

As shared on Twitter by user DroidXAce (via NeoGAF user yoonshik), most noteworthy of these may be a 150 Euro (about $158) arcade stick. These are primarily associated with fighting games, of which none have been announced for Switch so far. If accurate, this may suggest that at least one is on the way. Nintendo plans to showcase many of the system's games during presentations on Thursday and Friday.

Other accessories from Hori include a dock for charging two sets of joy-con controllers, analog stick grips, trigger attachments, a stand, an ethernet adapter, and a car charger. There's also a Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild skin set for decorating the joy-con grip and system dock. Additionally, Hori will offer its own wired version of the standard game controller with what looks like a monstrosity of a d-pad.

Running for three seasons in the early ‘80s, Starcade was a game show in which players with excellent hair competed on arcade machines while the host tried to keep up. Now the pop culture preservationists at Shout Factory have the rights to Starcade, and they plan to bring it back.
