Moonstones!: Sprayable Blue Glow-In-The-Dark Coating Lights Walking And Bike Paths After Dark
This is Starpath, a sprayable glow in the dark lighting system that makes pathways twinkle like a billion little stars after the sun goes down. That way you don't accidentally wander off the path and get eaten by bears. You may get mesmerized by all the stars and crash your bike into a park bench though. Whatever, chicks dig scars. But not brain injuries, so wear a f***ing helmet.
The coating is applied in three layers, with a middle aggregate stage that absorbs UV energy during the day, which is then released as a blue glow when it's dark. It's kind of like a high-tech version of those glow in the dark stickers you put on the walls of your room when you were a kid. Manufacturer Pro-Teq Surfacing sees Starpath as a way for municipalities to save money, by replacing costly electric pathway lighting with the low-maintenance coating. Installing the surface takes only a few hours, leaving a durable coating that's slip and rain resistant. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? "Probably not." They should spray a path from my bed to the bathroom so I don't have to turn on any lights to go to piss in the middle of the night! Because right now I try to navigate in the dark and-- "The hall closet smells like piss." Yeah... Plus my roommate said he found a turd in his hamper. Keep going for a video demonstration. Thanks to Carmen, who told me one day soon everything will glow in the dark and people will start painting themselves blue and pretending to be Na'vi. And that is the day I will blow up the planet.

Going Nowhere Fast: A Human-Sized Hamster Wheel
This is the human-sized hamster wheel available FOR FREE on Craigslist in Brooklyn, NY from ridiculously named Sandra Z. Zzz, who either changed his name because he fancies himself an artist, has cruel parents, or whose name is actually Dick Tent. Honestly, what do you think a hamster is thinking when it's running in its little wheel? "Almost there!" And what about a person -- what does a person think when they're running in a giant hamster wheel in a room filled with 50-pounds of shredded newspaper? "How did my life lead to this point?" I think you nailed it.
Thanks to lebeeps, who wants a human-sized hamster ball to run around in like they had in American Gladiators.

Tree Gets Yarnbombed Into Squid Using 4-Miles Of Yarn
This is the Magnolia tree that was transformed into a giant squid by sisters Jill Watt and Lorna using over four miles of yarn. Wait -- do trees even like playing dress up? Did Jill and Lorna at least ask it first? Because the last humanity needs right now is a battle with the Ents because these two are out there forcing trees into sweaters.
Jill reports that it took 20 hours on a sweater machine to make enough to cover the tree and that it took them 14 hours to install it, in 91°F weather!Jesus -- adding a sweater to a tree in 91°F weather?! The Ents are totally gonna be coming for us now. And you know what? I'm going to fight on their side. "You're just hoping they win and you can score a living treehouse, aren't you?" Heck yeah! Plus I'm tired of humanity anyways. Give the trees a chance, that's my motto. "Whatever happened to, 'Screw this, I'm getting drunk?'" Ahahahhahaha, you got me. Keep going for several more shots. Thanks to Mary B, who once knit a pair of gloves for a maple tree but squirrels stole them.

Doing Your Job Right: Captain Mike the Netflix Customer Service Rep Goes The Extra Mile
This is the online chat interaction between Netflix customer service representative Cap't Mike and Netflix streaming user Lt. Norm. Obviously, Cap't Mike really went the extra mile. That's worth noting because it seems like the majority of employees these days (particularly those in customer service) don't even want to run the original mile, let alone an extra one. And if there are any hurdles involved you can forget about it. Just last week I had a rep from the cable company hang up on me for demanding the nudie channels at a discount because my cable internet goes out so much. "Please tell me you're joking." That's exactly what she said before I got the dial tone!
Thanks to Tonenails, SR and becca, who agree a job worth doing is worth doing right.
