Palm Oil Con Job: The Sneakiest Ingredient At Your Local Supermarket

by Chris Jager
The majority of products containing palm oil in Australia erroneously label the ingredient as “vegetable oil”, a CHOICE investigation has found. Everything from shampoo to Coca Cola secretly contains this ingredient which is considered less safe for both your heart and the environment at large. More »

Important News: Bees Cast Shadows In Arma 3

by Craig Pearson

BEE!
“But Craig”, you’re probably saying to your monitor. “I totes remember insects casting shadows in Arma 2. Like seriously.” To that I say: “That’s cool. Let’s talk.”

This was supposed to be a post about the wonders of Arma 3′s new screenshot mode, splendidly named the Splendid Camera. It still is. Splendid Camera, I shall always call it by its full name, is one of those additions that shows you how deeply into the community’s den that Bohemia are willing to burrow to make people happy. In this case it’s a function that’s specifically designed to allow players to fly around the game, slow time, remove the HUD, and even change exposure and focus settings, just so they can take nice screenshots. That is how I discovered that both Arma 2 and Arma 3 had insects that cast shadows.

DUBSTEP GUN: Seven Minutes Of Saints Row IV

by Nathan Grayson

The Dubstep Gun isn't as impressive when not in motion, so here's the equally ridiculous Inflate-O-Ray.

The countless hours of discerning thought put into all those dumb, mindless “top 10 videogame gun” lists have just been rendered pointless. Wanna know why? Because DUBSTEP GUN. It is the most sublimely ridiculous thing I’ve seen in ages – pretty much since, er, the entirety of Saints Row: The Third. People struck by its sledgehammer-like beats fall into a state of physics-defying slow-mo undulation, equal parts stylishly modern and grotesquely unnatural. It is, in other words, a thing of the purest beauty. Oh, and it’s just the focus of this Saints Row IV video’s first couple minutes. A preview of the remaining five: “We decided that Saints Row needs a mech.”

The Sometimes, Always, Never Three-Button Rule

by Brett & Kate McKay

With our archives now 3,500+ articles deep, we’ve decided to republish a classic piece each Sunday to help our newer readers discover some of the best, evergreen gems from the past. This article was originally published in May 2013.

A few years ago, we published a guest post on suit buttons, and one of the best things I got out of the comments it received was a handy way to remember the right way to button a three-button suit jacket. It’s called the “sometimes, always, never” button rule. Starting with the top button and working your way down: it’s sometimes appropriate to have the top button buttoned along with the middle one (a stylistic decision — if the lapel is flat, it can look good to button it; if the lapel rolls over and hides the top button, only button the middle one); it’s always appropriate to have the middle button buttoned (the middle button pulls the jacket together at your natural waist and lets the bottom naturally flare out around your hips); and you should never button the last button (doing so messes up the intended tailoring and flare offered by the middle button). Sometimes, always, never. Easy.

Like this illustrated guide? Then you’re going to love our book The Illustrated Art of Manliness! Pick up a copy on Amazon.

Psilocybe Subaeruginosa(subs)- Free from Ground

by l0l0l0l
Psilocybe Subaeruginosa(subs)- Free from Ground

Mushrooms you can pick from the ground(for free) and have an epic trip.

Found in Melb(SE suburbs),WA,NSW,Tas,SE QLd.

They are dark brown (almost biscuit brown) when it has been raining but they can also be light brown when it has been dry.

Most of the time you should be able to see blue bruising along the stem at some point just after you have just picked them. Though if there is no bruising make sure you give it a 'gentle' pinch along the cap or stem and wait 15 minutes for blue bruising.

Psilocybe mushrooms germinate in winter,
the best environment is when the temperature is under 10 degrees celsius, high humidity and rain fall the night beforehand.

Be Funny At Work, It’s Good For You

by Joshua Rivera
A good sense of humour isn’t just a way to make your workday more pleasurable, it can also help you perform better (and get ahead). Forbes notes that a playful atmosphere can be incredibly conducive for ideation in creative fields: it helps turn off that part of your brain that monitors your own behaviour and feel self-conscious.
